Yes. 80,411 overdose deaths in 2021 including PRESCRIPTION drugs. But a dude died from the herbs. Of course.
Careful doctors, if you kill to many you'll run out of people to make addicts.

Government should play a role here, but it should be to ensure that the manufacturing process is safe and sanitary. The role that Consumer Reports plays should support that by test to ensure what's printed on the label is what we get in the package. Not to limiting of dictate our access to these products in a free society. The role of government is as protectors, not overseers.

@@based_mediumchungus1788 I am on the fence about that, people abusing the drugs are gonna take them whether or not they are illegal but I imagine there would be less deaths because you actually know what you are buying is not adulterated. Prohibition never works imo. Not to mention the cartels would not have become soooo big and basically have a stranglehold on Mexico, God knows what those drugs are adulterated with.... Those 2 drugs are waaaaay more dangerous when the cartels control it instead of selling legally.
Edit: So basically we would not have the cartels in the first place if these substances were legal and less people (in theory, can't say for sure) would die if they were made legal.

They come out with one antidepressant to treat the side effects from another antidepressant it’s complete madness. All in all Kratom is a herbal supplement the coats the opiate receptors but doesn’t lock on to them like all the synthetic narcotics that are much more dangerous. If thinking clearly, feeling devoid of wrestlessnes, and experiencing pain at a tolerable level is being high......🤔
You only notice Kratom is working when you make it a point to think about it, then and only then you become aware the pain and distress is at a lower volume. I've been high, and based on my personal definition this ain't it. It's a high like an energy drink or a ibuprofen dose is a "high". If big pharma could make money off of Kratom it wouldn't be vilified by their sycophants.

Kratom (ketum) is traditionally used by farmers and fishermen in south east asia countries (including malaysia) to relieve muscle aches after doing heavy work for long hours. It is also used by midwives to restore the strength of mothers after childbirth. Because of negative perception of ketum amongst health and law officials (misuse by youth, crazy formulations), it is currently banned from the public and the posession of even traditionally-made ketum juice is a serious criminal offence. If the US govt is serious in combatting its opiod epidemic, it should consult with malaysian govt to allow the farming, cultivating as well as processing of ketum leaves under strict supervision by local pharmaceutical companies. This will ensure that the US will get a medical-grade kratom extract and at the same time providing jobs for local people

Seen it save some from life threatening opioid addiction myself. They went from over dosing on prescriptions to living a normal life with this stuff. Amazing herb if used properly! Don't mix it with other meds as that seems to be where problems have occurred. I believe it's classified as an NSAID so keep that in mind as well. No way no how this stuff is anything like heroin in strength. People on heroin don't function properly so no way from what I can see. People I see using it you can't tell whether they're on it or not at all. They might be more likely to do some work or something. Going from totally not there blacking out with eyes rolling back all the time to this is a wonderful change. I'm so glad they found this herb and changed their lives.
