If OP did that, the customers would get mad at him and he'd have a constant stream of angry calls. His way was better, that way they're nice to him and then blow up at the real shop.

So she started telling people that it burned down, or was shuttered due to health code violations. After hemorrhaging so much money, they finally changed their number.

I’ve heard even politicians saying that it wasn’t important because only old people died, which is really despicable. My grandma passed away a month ago (not from COVID, and we live in different countries but are very close, not in distance way but family way. They are in a country in Europe and my twin brother and I are the only people born in America, everyone else in that country) we used to call every day before school (I am 12) and my grandpa got demotivated for a lot of things, so I can just imagine how tough it was for that kind man, and my (healthy) dad passed away when I was 7, artherosclerosis or however it’s spelt I don’t know, and it is very understandable why he is demotivated

My grandma passed away a month ago (not from COVID, and we live in different countries but are very close, not in distance way but family way. They are in a country in Europe and my twin brother and I are the only people born in America, everyone else in that country) we used to call every day before school (I am 12) and my grandpa got demotivated for a lot of things, so I can just imagine how tough it was for that kind man, and my (healthy) dad passed away when I was 7, artherosclerosis or however it’s spelt I don’t know, and it is very understandable why he is demotivated
I just got in the car on the way back from swim practice, good timing
I was awake all night and just got on youtube when it came out

Re: the lifeguarding story. The reason that OP was getting paid by a personal check was because it was off the books. It sounds like taxes weren’t being withheld.
As someone who has been paid “under the table” while tutoring, run, don’t walk from this type of job.
Yeah, that story was screaming tax evasion.
The reason why that boss paid the OP with a personal cheque is so that he didn't have to pay taxes. That is actually highly illegal and could've been shut down and fined heavily.
