  • Arab and Turkish nationalism in the late Ottoman Empire before World War I were complex and intertwined forces.
While the empire was a multi-ethnic and multi-religious entity, both Arab and Turkish populations harbored growing nationalist sentiments.
Arab nationalists, seeking greater autonomy, were influenced by cultural and intellectual movements that emphasized Arab identity.
Turkish nationalists, on the other hand, were driven by a desire to protect the Ottoman state by promoting a unified Turkish identity.
These nationalist aspirations eventually contributed to the disintegration of the empire and the emergence of modern nation-states in the Middle East.

The bottom line is that he was a sell-out; Greedy for power and so naive that he thought the British would give him Khalifa...

Excellent historiography greatly appreciated .I wish %001 percentage of Turks could be conscientious about these matters but most can not comprehend their own theology n exegesis

I am Turkish. I live in a small town of Balıkesir. In my city, during the First World War, boys over the age of 15 go to war. They all die in the war at the front. Women marry children to have children. Turks lost everything for the sake of this ummah. But our Muslim brothers still see TURKS as enemies. What will we say ? 💔💔💔💯

8:25 Assalamu Alaykum brother. This part is hilarious. Ohhhhh so that's why Sheriff Huseyin joined the ENGLISH ARMY, two individuals just misunderstood each other. Brother, in 1900's English had the ability to decipher any crypto messaging network including GERMANS. Sheriff Huseyin is a SELL OUT. QATAR KING NEVER LET TURKISH ARMY OUT OF QATAR.

One of the things the British used to convince the Sharif to revolt was to say the caliphate should go back to the Arabs.
But the Brits thought the caliph was like the Pope. Just a figurehead
