What a great fly and a kit! Very well done! Unfortunately, I do not have any pike in my area but my best friend Mark does, who I would give this kit to. He is starting out tying more and more pike flies and I have sent him many in the past few months preparing for pike season. He is learning to tie pike flies and I am coaching him on what materials/tools to use and this kit would be absolutely outstanding in a way of a huge start! Glad to see English subtitles and to hear that future tying videos will be in English as well. I would love to win this kit, I am a beginner fly angler, I have mostly fished for bass in small ponds and lakes. But have recently started fishing a local river on my kayak and caught my first pike in that water 2 years ago. That got me chasing Pike more than anything else, I just bought my first heavier weight fly rod to handle Pike last year, but have not had success catching a pike with it as of yet. Hello Niklaus! Greetings from Wyoming, U.S.A. I spend most of my time chasing large predatory trout in the Wind River Range and surrounding drainages. I love throwing big articulated streamers to these fish. I am sixteen and this is my third year guiding, it is my passion. I have been watching Fly vs Jerk for some time now, excellent series and I wish all the best to you and your friend in the latest competition. One of my dream trips would be to come to Sweden and fish for pike, they look like they take a fly very well. I would love to get to fish with you sometime, maybe a Kanalgratisdotse trip to the Snake River for naitive Cutthroat trout would be in order. Really awesome video, I think the fly tying marked is really imposing, there are so many materials and techniques so I think that scares a lot of people away from starting fly tying. Also great to hear that the future Tie TV episodes will be in English! Keep up the good work and tight lines!

Cool video Niklaus, very simple/informative as always! Kanalgratis is the only reality-tv worth watching :-) I would like to get my hands on this kit, because decent materials for pikeflies are hard to find around here(south Denmark), it is usually allways for seatrout. I have recently started fishing more and more in canals, and streams for pike. I have found that a spinfly outfishes both rubber and jerk, so I would love to get started with the flyrod instead! Just need a proper flytying kit first. Keep up the good videos, look forward to the next one!
This is a wonderful idea, most helpful! If it is possible I would like to nominate a friend of mine Francesco. He has what can be only described as a 3rd world fly tying set. Consisting of a vice grip and a dubbing tool for about 1 euro, along with one or two other items. Even though he is only starting out, it’s hard to believe what he has achieved to date. I’ve never met such a fly fishing addict or nicer person. I know that he follows your videos and will probably kill me later (for doing this) but I don’t care. This would open a great many doors for him (as a fly angler). Thank you and good wishes from Ireland.

Problemet är att jag har bara tre flugor som börjar bli ganska slitna och har inte riktigt ekonomin till att köpa ett flugbindar set. Hade varit riktigt roligt att vinna och då slipper jag binda med flätlina och julgransglitter! :)

Hello! It is a huge relief that you will be making videos in English! I had a hard time figuring out the materials you used before. Also, even though flashabou is roughly $5.50 (dollars) here in the United States, its nice to see you make some flies without the use of hackle (which is ridiculously pricey, especially for quality and in different colors). I do appreciate the beginner video. I am that much closer to making one of your flies. I don't need the kit, I have most of everything except the tube needle, the dubbing twister, the tubes, and your rig information. I would like just a few more specific questions from you. 1. Could you explain in more detail the size of your tubes, and maybe a conversion to U.S sizes. (I have also had a hard time locating tubes that give detailed information). 2. The rigs. I watched your videos on making them and it was great. However, could you specify the details on the titanium wire for the stinger, and what you use for the leader. I did research and discovered that a brand called TyGer Leader is available in U.S and is fusible. Sorry for the large comment and possibly asking too much. P.S. Flytying channel by Niklaus inspired me to make my own flies:) These "lessons" are simply awesome!!!! Is there any possibility to buy mats from Flydressing online? And one question about creating a "head" of the fly - what do you think about replacing epoxy glue with UV Bond? Will it change the movement of the fly - eg. will it be too heavy and therefore change the "balance" of the fly in the water? I need this kit to prepare some nice flies to be ready for my April season opening on Lake Sibbo!!!!

Great instruction video! I am just starting to tie my own pike flys. And have been watching a number of tying videos. But in this video i learn all the details at once. Hope to see many more videos from Niklaus. Also your pike fly fishing videos are great. Have already tried to ty the bream fly from one of your other videos. So far i try to mostly use materials i find at home or work because as a sarting fly tyer a wast a lot of material, at real fly-material is quite expensive. I would love to win the kit because I love fly fishing but can't get started wit the pike fly tying because I'm only 15 and don't have the money for it. If I could get the materials this video sure would help with getting started.
I should definitely win the kit because it would help me greatly to indoctrinate my kid brother ( to whom i would give the kit to) to become a pike fly angler. Do you know where I could by the needle tube to attach to your vise and the plastic tubes to put on the the needle tube? Also, what size string (denier, weight) should I use for pike and muskie flies?
nice flys niklaus i bought them and use those flys with my spinrodd casting waight 5-15 grams it works perfect for me ( sins i dont now how to use a fly rod )
nice video again, and the englisch subs are real great!! I must say its a real good idea that kit, it will save new fly tying people alot of money when they can buy good stuff in the right amount! I myself made 3 of this flys and its nice to see im doing it right aldo i am getting that dubbing tool aswel it work beter then a steel wire :). Maybe u guys dont have made the next movie of tie tv? but i would love to see how u make a double fly as Thomas was useing in the last fly vs jerk episode :P cheers!
Lol its so hard, i got an 30 year old fly tieing set but i dont know anything about it so i just use my hands and try to get some hair on a hook, i find it quite fun to make flies with my own creativity so thats why i make them... i barely fish with my fly fishing rod so i dont care if my flies are bad.. the little perch bite in everything
Very interesting, but i dont think in my country Latvia this kind of fly will work. Thats why i would like to win this kit, to try is it possile to catch pike whit this kind of fly (it looks very aesthetically), and i mean by size, and so much flashabou. We usualy fish pikes whit max 15cm long flies.

There is only one problem the vice doesn't clamps the tube needle that good so all the time will tying a tube the needle goes out of the vice. So that is pretty frustrating. And the vice it self goes up and down while tying. The most annoying thing is i can't lock the tube on the needle so its always lose while tying. Could really use this setup. That would make tying even more fun then now.

Hej grabbar. Har funderat ett bra tag nu på att börja flugfiska gädda då jag spinn fiskat ett par år. Flugfisket känns mer passionerat och intimt. I would love to win the kit because I love fly fishing but can't get started wit the pike fly tying because I'm only 15 and don't have the money for it. If I could get the materials this video sure would help with getting started.

I should definitely win the kit because it would help me greatly to indoctrinate my kid brother ( to whom i would give the kit to) to become a pike fly angler. Ps. great video again even though there was nothing new for me here, it's always great to see these more entry level fly tying videos to help people get into the wonderful world of fly fishing.

Do you know where I could by the needle tube to attach to your vise and the plastic tubes to put on the the needle tube? Also, what size string (denier, weight) should I use for pike and muskie flies?
nice flys niklaus i bought them and use those flys with my spinrodd casting waight 5-15 grams it works perfect for me ( sins i dont now how to use a fly rod )

nice video again, and the englisch subs are real great!! I must say its a real good idea that kit, it will save new fly tying people alot of money when they can buy good stuff in the right amount! I myself made 3 of this flys and its nice to see im doing it right aldo i am getting that dubbing tool aswel it work beter then a steel wire :). Maybe u guys dont have made the next movie of tie tv? but i would love to see how u make a double fly as Thomas was useing in the last fly vs jerk episode :P cheers!

Lol its so hard, i got an 30 year old fly tieing set but i dont know anything about it so i just use my hands and try to get some hair on a hook, i find it quite fun to make flies with my own creativity so thats why i make them... i barely fish with my fly fishing rod so i dont care if my flies are bad.. the little perch bite in everything

Very interesting, but i dont think in my country Latvia this kind of fly will work. Thats why i would like to win this kit, to try is it possile to catch pike whit this kind of fly (it looks very aesthetically), and i mean by size, and so much flashabou. We usualy fish pikes whit max 15cm long flies.

These are my first two flies i tied with the help of this video. There is only one problem the vice doesn't clamps the tube needle that good so all the time will tying a tube the needle goes out of the vice.
So that is pretty frustrating. And the vice it self goes up and down while tying.
The most annoying thing is i can't lock the tube on the needle so its always lose while tying. Could really use this setup. That would make tying even more fun then now.
