    I don't care that she's 66 years old.
If anything, at her age she should have known better.
Driving drunk is a choice, a heart attack is something totally different - it's not a choice.
The only reason that she doesn't have a criminal history, is because she was lucky enough for long enough to not get busted for drunk driving.
I doubt very seriously that this is her first time drinking and driving.

During the hearing there's a guy who's been a.member of this club for over 10 years. He admitted she was drinking there since he remembers and dozen of times they had to walk her out as she was so hammered. She crashed a car driving down the road. Another time she hit a.tree... This tragedy was just a matter of time.

If you have a known medical condition that causes you to lose consciousness randomly, states have statutes that address if you can continue to have your driving privilege & under what circumstances. Alcohol, and some other products, like benedryl, can lower the seizure threshold-meaning seizures can be triggered more easily.

    • @shaheedharun445
      @shaheedharun445 หลายเดือนก่อน +11

@@user-vd2nh8fh9h NO you stated the very *opposite* - alcohol INCREASES the seizure threshold… it’s a medical fact! One’s tolerance raises cause the central nervous system adapts to it’s effects. Essentially the alcohol relaxes the CNS & in fact the impact is great. Alcohol _withdrawal_ lowers the seizure threshold!
It all boils down to how one’s GABA receptors react. Clinical data does not suggest that alcohol drinking results in seizure genesis. Alcoholics who begin to feel withdrawal are especially a high risk & usually need to be put on benzos to reduce it. That might explain her other drug dependence as an epileptic which the DA brings up at 2:55

@@lazydaisy2292 you might not find it shocking but I can’t imagine killing two babies and not shedding a tear or even showing some remorse.
It sounds like she’s well known in her area for drunk driving and she was trying to get home to get away from a previous incident. I’m sure your opinion would change if it was your family affected by her disregard for human life.

I'm sure you'd like to believe that but in reality, it's highly unlikely unless she wants to go back to jail. When bond is granted for alcohol related offenses, they always include "absolute sobriety" as a bond condition. It's enforced with a take home alcohol monitor called the SCRAM device. It's monitored by the sheriff's dept and connects via cell phone towers I think and takes a breath test every 4 to 6 hours depending on how it's programmed. It also has a camera that takes a picture of the person's face when testing so they can't just get a sober person to blow for them. And if they think they can have a beer right after testing and will be fine for the next test even 6 hours later, they're wrong. Believe me, there is no way to cheat this alcohol monitor unless you have an identical twin that is wherever you are every time the machine turns on and requires a test within 2 minutes. Or if you have mad mad tech skills and can hack into the sheriff's dept system and edit the test results. When it records a positive test for alcohol, you know it right away because it makes you test a second time to verify. Then you get a call from the sheriff's dept within an hour or two informing you that you tested positive for alcohol and you need to report to jail for violating your bond conditions. If you don't show up when they tell you to be there, they send the goons out to take you.
All that to say, if she does drink while out on bond, she will almost certainly get caught and locked back up again. No excuse in the world will be accepted by the court. No alcohol means exactly that. Judge will then increase the bond amount to around double what it was.

I used to have a neighbor who was this woman’s age and had a laundry list of health problems and was on medications. One was for epilepsy. She didn’t drive. She had a caregiver that drove her and she had a friend that drove her. To this day she still doesn’t drive because she knows it’s not safe given all the meds she is on and her conditions. I suppose that is why I have very little sympathy for this woman. She knew better but took the risk anyway

This is crazy to allow all of these people to pass judgement and give their hypothesis on medication and her intentions! Wow. She's being convicted before any evidence is presented to an actual jury which goes against our justice system. I'm not defending her actions and feel terrible for what happened, but we do have judicial processes to follow for all citizens. I mean the way the prosecutor spoke, they should just cancel her trial and sentence her because the video evidence will prove her guilty, according to him.

Her attorney is the worst attorney I’ve ever seen and he’s literally burying his own client. If she has seizures she shouldn’t be driving, and if she’s been drinking she shouldn’t be driving at all. She should call an Uber driver to get around, and not drive under the influence of alcohol. If she paid for the attorney she should fire him for screwing up her entire defense.
Even if you’re not drinking alcohol it’s still illegal to drive under the influence’s effects of drugs you take. If you’re driving under the influence and you’re mixing drugs with alcohol then you’re driving irresponsibly, and look at the consequences of what happened to these people who have lost their loved ones in a birthday celebration. 😢

Each state has statutes that say how long you must be seizure free to drive with a history of epilepsy. Certain medical conditions & prescriptions cause side effects and even warn to not operate machinary / a car if you are taking these meds. You are not suppose to drink with seizure meds. These are all choices that you make for yourself & therefore, you are liable for the consequences of your actions or inactions. This didn't just "happen", this was a consequence of this woman's choices.

Looks like the defense is going to go the seizure route and say she couldn't control her body/ legs at the time of the crash. Even so she has a drinking problem and should not have been driving impaired. I think she will be found guilty for sure and anything over 20 years she will more than likely spend the remainder of her life in prison. The penalty for two deaths can be two life sentences but don't forget that she nearly killed another nine people , (two of which may end up dying) . That has to be included in the charges and court case. And of course the charges upgraded if any more of the victims die.
