What do you think of the Open Run Pro 2?

Thanks for the review! You tease at 3:58 that you have tested those at the gym to check how it handle outside music from those places... but you never give your feedback about that situation later in the video 😅 So how was it?

At first, I was skeptical because I've been extremely satisfied with the original OpenRUN PRO1 model. However, based on your review video, I picked up the OpenRUN PRO 2's today. The audio upgrade is quite noticeable and impressive. Songs with lots of treble used to get washed out but now the sound holds up. The bass is more pronounced and punchier. The frame for the new model seems less stiff, which is going to make the newer model even more comfortable than the previous model. The OpenRUN PRO 2 model is an upgrade for sure.

Used the pro 1s since they first came out and expecting the 2s to be delivered today. I've used Shokz for a long time (my first pair had a cable connection!) - I run races in the UK pretty regularly and bone conduction headphones are often the only ones allowed under race regulations. The pro 1s have been really good - much better than the earlier models from Shokz and if the 2s are as much of an improvement as you and other reviewers are saying I'm looking forward to testing them later today...👍

The very first song I played on Openrun Pro 1 was Sofly - Ghost Love which vibrated like a mofo. Other than that, I barely have any issues with the Pro 1. Except that one of the speakers outright disconnected from the frame! I ordered the Pro 2 as soon as they were available. I'm getting them on Tuesday.

i tryed them all at best buy and its true the older model vibrates your cheak a lot kind of a tickle very anoying but the open run 2 were great.I wonder how they will work on the airplane with ear plugs is of course and if you can lay your head back on the seat without jaring them out of possition.I tryed the mini ones they fit right against my neck and i didnt get the volume from them maybe to small for my head and neck .Thanks for the great review.

@ListedFit could you please make a new video comparasion between Shokz OpenSwim Pro and the newly released Suunto Aqua? It would be very interesting, thank you!

I just ordered these as I really enjoyed the previous version (my wife will be getting them 😉) but I really appreciate the audio upgrade. These are my go-to anytime I run or lift weights.

My Pro 2's arrived today and the bass is drastically improved 👍🏾 My original Pros have been retired! *The Usb-c connection has a really good positive click. The previous version's magnets never had firm attachment.

With regards to situational awareness, were the Pro2s same, better, or worse than the 1st gen? I am curious to see how much the duel pitch tech affects situational awareness. I own the 1st gen and I love I can drive around at my job, on a forklift, enjoy my tunes and be totally aware of my audio surroundings.

So is it really worth it? Is the call better now? My problem is the multifunction button, I tend to answer the phone during calls, put it on my left side unconsciously and accidentally press that button. it is just annoying.
I also dont mind the vibration since it kind of massage my inner brain. Idk if that is weird. lol

Nice review! Aside from hiking and an occasional walk I'm a bit from their targeted audience. However, as someone who cant stand earbuds in my ear these are the best option for me i have found.
You asked the new vs old model? I would say above all else having USB C is the tie breaker.

      Thanks for watching!
I def think the USB-C connection makes life a whole lot easier, I've forgotten or lost numerous proprietary cables in my time and replacing them isn't always easy!

@@ListedFit I actually quite like the proprietry connector on the original - it's magnetic and exposed so you don't have to open a flap to get to the socket - the older versions had a propriety connctor AND a flap which used to p*ss me off...sure, you could lose the cable but my wife is also a Shokz user so we always have a spare in the house somewhere...!

@n.k.turley2496 yeah I'm not a fan of the flap for the charging port either but guess its there for dust etc

    Hello,
Thank you very much for your review.
I have a pair of AfterShokz Aeropex that I use for work. I really like these cause it allows me to wear earplugs and still listen to a podcast while I perform my tasks. My pair of Aeropex that I used for the past 4 years just broke (the on button broke) and now I'm looking at a replacement.
Could you tell me what difference you hear if you use the Openrun Pro2s with earplugs. Does it need DualPitch or can I rely on the vibration to still sound good?
When I used my Aeropex with earplugs I had to turn them up to about 80%. These did vibrate but I eventually ignored it.
    Thank you for your time.

....Definitely Sound Even Better In All Sound Ranges Over My OpenRun Pro
....Where As The Sound Difference Between Openrun And Openrun Pro Was Suttle
....The Sound Difference Between Openrun Pro And Openrun Pro 2 Is Very Noticeable And Not Just A Suttle Difference But A Major Improvement Comparable To The OpenFit Sound
....My Only Issue Is The Material Openrun Pro 2 Are Made Of Breaks My Skin Out Unlike The Open Run Pro
....I Cut Out Some Tape And Placed It On The Offending Areas Of Pro 2 Because I Really Do Not Want To Return The Pro 2
....If The Tape Doesn't Work I'll Have To Return The Pro 2
....I Think Pro 2 Has Touch Controlls But I've Not Verified This

I have the the Open Run version, and while the sound quality is fine, I have a couple of issues I'd appreciate being addressed in another review or a comment, especially if they’ve been fixed in the new version:
    - When I connect the Chokz to both my phone and PC, and then leave the house, it beeps in my ears every 10 seconds or so indefinitely signaling that it lost connection with one device. To stop this, I need to turn the device off and on again. I'd like to see if this issue is been addressed in the new model.
    - The microphone quality is poor when there's background noise. People I call often complain about the bad voice quality, and this also needs improvement.
    - I understand the move to USB-C, but it would be great if they included a magnetic adapter to maintain compatibility with their existing line. I really liked the convenience of just snapping it into place, and now I have to buy the adapter separately.
    - Finally when the battery is low and the device turns off, you have to manually turn it back on after plugging it into the charger; otherwise, you might be surprised the next day to find that it hasn’t charged at all!
Overall, I really like the OpenRun-it keeps your ears open, helping to avoid many ear-related issues. 🎧

Is the sound comparable to IEMs or TWS buds at all, or still far away?

    • @Xanthous
      @Xanthous 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

I use IEMs if I'm listening for pleasure but when working out or running the spatial awareness the they provide is WAY more important that the sound quality which is still "good". Keep your IEMs but give these a try too.

What about sound leakage? Is it too loud in quiet environments?
