Fred, I use the Hornady "Precision" Hunter 162 grain ELD-X bullets in my Savage 110 7mm Magnum setup for Elk and they shoot with unmatched precision and accuracy! Hornady Custom 154 grain Interlock SP rounds in .277 Winchester for White tail deer in My Ruger No 1. With good accuracy and it delivers. The Hornady Custom Lites 120 grain SST for 41% reduced recoil for my oldest Grandson in the Weatherby Vanguard rifle. Hornady is at the top of the list for quality and bullet design I my book. Great video about a Outstanding company!
As a reloader I know Hornady brass is good stuff. BUT, I wonder why their .357 magnum cases are just a smidge shorter (about .002 / .003 inch) than 'standard' other brand cases? Just enough shorter to mess up your crimp zone when loading the bullet. So, I cull all my Hornady cases & when I've got a couple hundred stashed, then I readjust my dies to make the short brass work.

In my CZ-527, 22 Hornet, the Hornady 35-gr VMax factory round, will shoot 3/8" groups all day long. I only wish they would provide it to hand loaders with the cannelure, as the factory loaded round has one. I pulled apart a factory cartridge and found 11.2 grains of what is either H-110 or W-296. My load is the same, but my bullet is smooth sided, and shoots 1/2 inch groups. That's good, I know, but it's not 3/8". Must be that darn cannelure.
I have Hornandy self defense rounds loaded in my .380 carry. Gonna change it out because it’s the only round that jams in my Walther. It’s the serrated bullet that causes it. So I’m switching to ball rounds for my self defense round. They have better penetration anyway. But other than that. hornandy is great quality ammo
We have a lot of issues with Hornady primers. The most with 243 there primers are set to deep i have a Savage access and ruger M77 And a browing auto that all have issues with there primers. So no I just shoot Core lock no issues
Like to see 35 Remington more on shelves. That caliber is making a comeback problem is the round is scarce. The one caliber I haven't seen since Covid is 30/40 Kreg. 35 Remington I've seen twice.
I realize this is an older video, but beings I just now found it. Please allow me to give my 1.5 cents worth of input, not that anybody asked or cares.. But, over the past 31 years, I have sent close to 50,000 to 51,000 Hornady brand ammo in either hunting or screwing around at the ranges, or heck, knocking bottle and soda cans off of fence posts in my back yard. I have yet to ever experience a Hornady round that had an issue, like failure to fire or a dead fire, or a squib issue or over charged double shot filled cartridge, NOT ONCE. I have had issues with a few firearms, either in a pistol or rifle format that caused the ammo to have an issue, but that is not on the ammo shoulders, rather, just my equipment. Even the Hornady rounds that didn't pop off, due from the machine failure, that ammo as clean as it is, always assisted in honing in on the mechanical issue so much easier and faster, by seeing odd scratches, or no firing pin indentation on the primer, or lite primer strike, again, failure of the machine and not the ammo. When I need to be serious, as per, hunting, I grab the Hunting series Hornady stuff or if I am playing with a new machine, and desire to get it dialed in, I grab the Match series ammo. I even trust Hornady over my loaded / reloaded stuff from raw building materials, which doesn't say much about my reloading confidence, (smiley face). Now, I am not saying that somebody else has never had an issue with Hornady's ammo product lines, but, I am just saying, that I have yet to have any or ever an issue. With that stated, other brands of ammo, and the list is long, form the few name branded ammo manufacturers, that are made in my beloved United States of America, and not to exclude the 20 to 30 foreign ammo manufacturers from all over the world, that I have either tried or currently still use, but all of those, I have had uncountable issues. To add to the numbers game show I am explaining, of the other brands, foreign and domestic ammo brands, (the last I documented that I remember from a few months ago), I have shoot approx 140,500 rounds of other brands of ammo in that 31. That does not include reloaded ammo, by me or other private loaders / reloaders which are vet'd and trusted by me. My data base has segregated all rim fire sent ammo, it is counted, but not for this example I am explaining. The .22 rim fire numbers is just a count, and not really any point in going nuts over, so I never added them to the primary database, this is only for center fire cartridges that I have sent only. PLEASE NOTE. unless you know the person doing loading/reloading, it is highly recommended that you do not do that. Especially if you do not know that person. It is dangerous, and costly if things go left on you, so do not do that. But, I have two buddy's, who load and reload, with a measure of OCD 5 times what I have and I have worked side by side with them while loading/reloading for 20 years, so, my example is the exception to the rules, out side of the normal. DO NOT USE SOMEBODY ELSE'S SELF LOADED or RELOADED AMMO, unless you are factually/highly certain they are secure and confident in their skill set and attention to detail and love you enough to never slack off a second or ever doubt that their knowledge and skill set is on point. Please be careful. Also, Please note, I am not talking bad about those other ammo manufactures at all, as I fully understand and highly respect that it is just how things go, or rather, to say: "IT HAPPENS" and not a huge deal to me. I keep the failed round(s) and when I get a five gallon bucket full of failed to fire rounds, I will sort, disassemble each caliber as groups, by size, brand, etc., then analyze each group, by blue printing every aspect dimensionally upon the shell case, projectile type & gr weight, powder type, and many other reasons. I do that just to look for a pattern or issue of the construction process. May sound time consuming, but, I find it relaxing and peaceful to do that, plus, I do it on a spread sheet, entering all the data collected. Can then graph out charts... blah..blah..blah.. you get the point, just a touch of OCD. I run the powder through my mass spectrometer and do a few burn off metering, gasification collection onto a scrubber, while other measuring tools are checking the temp during the testing. Some day, I would enjoy the use of one of those super duper high speed video camera that does something like a few million frames per second to add to the database, (more OCD). Then I rebuild that group with often times with the same building parts that came apart, other then the primer. Now, all of that, and the only Hornady in the database is of the loaded cartridges from new raw building components or reloaded shells with new parts. But none of the "failure to fire" database has any info from the Hornady brand.. For a guy with a case of OCD issues, that is kind of a "double edged sward sward". No, I don't want any of Hornady's ammo product lines in my database of "failure to fire", but my list/database is missing that information.. LOL. Okay, now that I just showed the world my silliness and OCD issues, I will leave you all to it. Enjoy your 2nd Amendment, and practice being safe, ALL the time. Do your best to learn something new at least once a day.
Great video! Only wish the camera operator stayed focused on things a second or two more. Love my Hornady Lock n Load! Their bullets are the best! Thanks for sharing this video and good shooting.
I've tested every weight of Hornady 223 in my 1:7 twist 20" barrels (Ruger Precision and Kel-Tec RDB) and the 53gr wins hands down at 100yd. I've heard the 53gr projectile is long for its weight and maybe that's why it doesn't over stabilize in a 1:7.
Hornady Manufacturing These “ shortages” have been going on for years. Ammo is imported from RO Korea, Baltic states etc, when are the American Manufacturers going to step up and produce to meet the demand... what?..... they don’t want to make more money or are you/they keeping the prices inflated??

Well well, how about that, the marketing director of Hornady shares the same first and last name as me. No wonder I have a close liking for Hornady ammo.
no wonder hornady costs a dollar a round. They got a bunch of ho's checkin it 5 times before it moves anywhere. Literally seems like you cant even touch anything without verification lmao. Cant even take a dump without permission xD Still rely on Hornady tho. Had some old Sig and hornady rounds all brown n tarnished and still kick hard and accurate af.
Yet ammo is still hard to find for the last 2 years and it was 3 times the price now it's like 1.5 to 2 x's the price.... covid tho... Just a way to make more money 💰 that goes for everything.. Ammo and wood have been the worst tho.
I bought a box of hornday 300 win mag from my local sporting goods store when I checked the ammo before my moose hunt there was a 338 win mag shell in the box i returned the ammo and got another box 2 of the bullets had shells that were cracked down the side I called hornday they said every bullet was hand inspected i told them someone was not doing there job there answer was to send me a shirt from hornday not what I expected so needless to say that turned me off from hornday ammo
The factory may be state of the art and the components may be A1 quality but that is window dressing. I bought two boxes of 38 SPL 158 GR ammo to practice with in my Henry rifle. The 7th round I fired did not have powder in the round which resulted in a round lodged in the barrel. I went to Hornad's Web page and found that there was no way to contact customer service and no phone number to call. What I did find was that other lots of Hornady ammo had been recalled for that very resson. So I wrote them a letter asking about returning the 2 boxes I purchased for a refund. I sent the letter two weeks ago and have not gotten any sort of response. Perhaps Hornady is quality in advertising only. What do you think?
At 4:30 hornady just gained a customer because when I can find them here I will be buying them for my 270! Bought two boxes of Federal Premium “match grade” and 5 bullets out of those 40 would not chamber in my rifle. Pathetic. And that’s out of two boxes people match grade ain’t cheap.
I usually will jump on any factory/plant/manufacturing tour for the information and explanation of process, steps and techniques involved in the production of any product. This rushed through the “plant” highlighting a few “services” and little to do with the how or why. I am a hunter and certainly the opposite of a gun control advocate but this seemed to be more a Fred Eichler see my face and hear my voice ego trip and advertising blurb than an 10 minute {non-} informative “plant tour”. Tour rating about a 3 from 10.

So why is there a shortage if everything is automated
Less “face time” for the talking heads and more camera time showing the actual manufacturing and assembly process.
Manufacturers don't want the competitors to get detailed info about their operation.

@@garlandgarrett6332 Here is what we opened two years ago. We now have three buildings one that is strictly for making bullets, one that houses our ammunition, research and development, our packaging andshipping and one that is making our reloading equipment.

It’d be awesome if they would sell some of those bulk boxes (in those amounts) to individuals not just companies!
They do. You can buy 6000 bullet boxes of .223 55 grain on the open market. Contact them if you want a pallet load.
@@superdave380 hmm, thanks for the info. I’ll keep that in mind for when the prices come back down
they test fire each round?
Dumbass
Yes then they pack them up and send it straight to you!
Every lot gets tested
Well well, how about that, the marketing director of Hornady shares the same first and last name as me. No wonder I have a close liking for Hornady ammo.
no wonder hornady costs a dollar a round. They got a bunch of ho's checkin it 5 times before it moves anywhere. Literally seems like you cant even touch anything without verification lmao.
Cant even take a dump without permission xD
Still rely on Hornady tho. Had some old Sig and hornady rounds all brown n tarnished and still kick hard and accurate af.
Hornady rocks.
Can't believe they hand check the ammo.
Looks like they need a few more checkers as full as those bins were. Like lucey in the chocolate factory 😂😂
They do everyday they have more then one checker
All day every day!
No wonder why we can’t find any primers lol 😅
Basically all use machines to draw put brass plugs to make the bullet cases
Things happen...QC will do that
I've had that happen with Winchester ammo, seven out of the box were cracked
Human error. It's part of life. They kept their end of bargain by gifting you something.
Ever think it was swapped by someone at the retail store 🤔🤔🤔🤔
I depend on RWS or GECO
I think he enjoyed spanking that gel..lol. HORNADY ROCKS!!!!!
It never fails, the new people always have to spank the gel.
They dropped the round nose bullets in most calibers.
Why can’t I buy 1000 rounds of Hornady critical duty 135 grain 9 mm plus P for an affordable price come on now there is obvious price gouging going on
At 4:30 hornady just gained a customer because when I can find them here I will be buying them for my 270! Bought two boxes of Federal Premium “match grade” and 5 bullets out of those 40 would not chamber in my rifle. Pathetic. And that’s out of two boxes people match grade ain’t cheap.
Will work for ammo
Omg seeing someone full auto dump a mag of hornady ammunition literally makes me cry.
#abolishtheNFA
I shoot only Hornady , and this video is the reason why
Fantastic film. However modern quality inspection is called quality assurance. Not quality control. Keep up the good work.
Semantics
Bring the cost of your 750 Amax projectiles down. Tired of selling kidneys to buy a box of projectiles.
what did the coyote do to you? why do you shoot defenseless animals?
To bad the frontier line is crap.. must be using Winchester primers.. bought a bunch of boxes and averaged 5 out of 20 wouldn't go bang

America as it gets.
This is eleventy bajillion dollars worth of ammo at 2021 prices...
A ver si ponen ustedes subtítulos en español también que no va a pasar nada
I didnt see any ppe for the lead. I woukd thinks its harmful to breathe that air unless its a very robust air handling system even then..
There's just something about seeing a coyote being shot that is unsettling to me. I guess because I'm a dog lover.
Don't forget 300 PRC
Top top top
Hahs "little bit of rocket science going on here"
I usually will jump on any factory/plant/manufacturing tour for the information and explanation of process, steps and techniques involved in the production of any product.
Tremendously great ammunition company keep americans supplied with ammo
