To me I always saw the 6 and the 8 as one unit / class of BMWs portfolio. Because throughout history a 6 series and a 8 series would never be on the market at the same time. They’re both GT cars with a lot of power, comfortable, Supercar levels of performance.. which is a great thing. They just need to stick to one name plate.
I have to say, the first time I saw the 6 series I thought it looked really outdated, like an early 00s BMW, and too different from the rest of BMW's lineup. Now It's really grown on me and it's a shame BMW let it go. Hopefully they'll bring it back in the future or at least give the next 8 series a similar design language.
Well done. I actually wanted a 2017 Nissan GT-R Nismo, but I couldn't turn down the deprecation price. I was lucky and saw the 2016 Competition Edition M6 in the market. All the research I have done on this car, you covered it all.
Always wanted to get a BMW M6 gran coupe as my dream car. But with it being rear wheel drive and having rain year round where I live it's incredibly difficult to decide between a old M6 or throwing extra money towards the new m8 gran coupe.
M8 is a step down in terms of design and exclusivity, interior is not as standout as the M6 compared to other series. 2021 X6M currently has a better interior than M8 but the M6 has the best designed interior in the modern BMW range. You also have a DCT which is leaps and bounds better than the ZF auto found in the M8, this is a timeless car and you won't regret saving your cash on M6 Gran Coupe, undoubtably sexier than the M8 I cross-shopped both stepping out of a 2018 650 Gran Coupe and got a last model year M6 Gran Coupe instead, looks way more aggressive tbh, you won't regret the M6 my friend unless you really want nightclub interiors which is one of the most distracting and useless trends in automotive history (blinding lights distracting you at night...)
Demolisher yup exactly. In terms of looks and interior, the M6 gran coupe completely wins in my book. But having a RWD 550i series right now, its an absolute pain driving it in the snow and rain. If the m6 had AWD then I’d buy it in a heartbeat. The 650i Xdrive doesn’t look aggressive enough for me.
Great video! The only thing I noticed was that actually isn't a competition. The competition will say "competition" on the door sills and the cup holder.
Depends on your style and what you want out of the car, the m4 is more nimble less straight line focused and more overall drivers car. The m6 to me is a luxury cruiser that can make you smile a lot more in a straight line more fun for highway type movent. That's just my take!
I rented an M6 on Turo before I got the M4. The M6 was an absolute joy to drive on the highway and take road trips. It's a real grand tourer with a ton of power down low. I ultimately decided on the M4 coupe because I wanted a smaller car with the twin turbo I6, and a manual transmission. But looking to choose between the M6 and M4, you really can't go wrong with either one, to be honest. M6 gets the edge in highway cruising and road trips.
@@LJsGarage I ran a couple of track weekends on the stock brakes. The only issue, is the wear. They bit well and did a good job of slowing the big girl down.
I’m the owner of 2013 M6, but the amount of plastic components that BMW uses in their engine bays is giving me anxiety... Why BMW makes gorgeous cars that have such a bad reliability 😭😭😭😭😭
Ok, nice video bro however; why are you saying it's competition package? The "blue" calipers are NOT part of the competition package. Let me guess, the owner painted it blue? Also, no M6 come with "competition badge" on the trunk as the one you are displaying, you can buy that stuff on ebay. Please correct me if I am wrong.
Hector you are correct from what others are saying. I was misinformed by the owner. The blue calipers are not specific to the competition and the emblem is aftermarket.
@@LJsGarage respect bro literally brightened up my day these videos are good for mental health whislt in covid lockdown. I just bought my E93 in alpine white with red interior but working on getting one of these in the next 1.5 to 2 years enjoying the e93 for now though 😎. Big shout out from England!!!
@@alexwalsh31 All the way from England that's awesome! Congrats on the ride, that's a Perfect spec 👏🏿 enjoy it for me my friend. Stay sane over there lol we can get through it
Don't buy one of these cars unless you can afford to maintain it. Do your research find out where you can get this car serviced and worked on when it needs it. This is not a DIY .
@@LJsGarage why is it so hard to diy? serious question - im in the market for m5 m6. how hard is it to do an oil change, cabin filter change, access injectors and coils etc?
@@Anythingyoulike2013 I wouldn't say that it's a hard car to DIY. Filters oil change are fairly simple. Everything else depends on your skill. I would encourage you to go on the forums and check out a few things like spark plugs and several fluid flushes and see if that's doable for you. Differential can be expensive at the dealership so can brakes. Mostly for me on this car is the cost of parts. You can't afford to be cheap on this. Tires are pricey. And diagnosing problems on these aren't always easily done without the right software.
Add a lil paprika to this one a little salt to that one lol 😂 hilarious.. I have both the e63 and F13 love them both equally although the e63 cost me 10x more in maintenance. I’ve yet to have a single check engine light on my F13 🙏
haha thanks for stopping by! I appreciate your taste in cars. I did a video on my buddies e63 not long ago and man oh man glad I dont have to choose between the two
I had an F10 M5 Comp w the manual and I can honestly say that it was the worst stick I’ve ever driven. Horrible clutch, crappyish shifts, and turbo lag due to coming completely off boost in between shifts. I went out and got a manual V10 M6 and never looked back. You need to review one of those.🤌

Deciding between an m4 or m6. Around my area not many good M4s available making me look at the m6 again tbh

I have a black comp package M6, and they should rename the suspension settings to "Covered Wagon" and "Covered Wagon Plus".
😂 you need to make sure you submit that comment to BMW

Which 1 is better, faster?
M6 (F13) or M6(F06)
That just depends on preference really I always go with the coupe I like the looks better!
The coupe is faster.
