As someone who plays mesmer a lot, your explanation didn’t seem that complicated but I’m sure trying to stay in rotation under pressure from boss mechanics requires hella concentration
I really like this build because it is a natural upgrade of the power leveling build. Greatsword sword sword (or sword cubed) and the shatter combos are the same but continuum adds so much depth and damage.
Hey Vallun! I am quite late to this video/party! I really appreciate a whole guide for the power chrono! It's my most fav build of all time! I do want to mention something about the build that I slightly disagree with, though please understand that this is a very nitpicky and that it's more of a optimizing thing. I don't recommend taking accuracy sigils or any other crit chance increases (Unless specifically specified that illusions benefit from the crit chance as well, i.e Trait: Danger Time) for chrono ever ever ever. The thing about clones and phantasms is that they take your current PRECISION stats only. NOT your total crit chance. So even though you had 100% crit chance on yourself, your clones and more importantly, your phantasms were running around with around 93% crit chance which is a dps loss since mesmers loooove criting. I would suggest running thief runes for more precision if you can't max out your precision stat. I also wanted to mention that I love the fact that you took the precog well and used it in your fights. It's such a strong skill that people tend to just over look. It definitely beats out the small dmg increase from mantra of pain. Your vids are awesome overall!! Hope you make more mesmer builds/guides!
Such a useful video! I love that you explain _why_ the rotation is the way it is, and what the priorities are. Your commentary on the Dhuum raid was great for driving those ideas home. Thanks so much for sharing this.
Deep breath...deep breath...deep breath! Okay so here is the deal, I don't do dungeons due to chronic pain and of course stress makes it worse however, I do love RPG games. GW2 storylines can be horrible for someone who does not have proper armor or weapons. The reason I say this to you is for once I now have a character who can do storylines without constant dying and I'm so in love with my mesmer due to you. I just wanted you to know how thankful I am for your information and sorry to unload so much personal information but I wanted you to know where I was coming from. I do not have chonomancer at the moment due to I'm only a master level 12 so it's a long way coming if at all but still, I was able to receive a lot of info that was extremely helpful in spite of not being where I need to be at the moment. Thank you!
this seems scary but i recently changed my mesmers name to "out dps by chrono" before ever trying chrono, so i've kinda commited. Im going to eventually learn this and Im going to hopefully out dps some classes which i shouldnt be able to out dps. currently playing virtuso and it's fine, i just find it a little too basic at times. I MUCH prefer virtuso for open world because building up clones when everythign dies in 1 hit was super annoying as mirage and core mesmer (and i assume simiarily for chrono), but it will be nice having adps and qdps options as a chrono as well as dps virtuso. And kinda loosly related but chrono in wvw looks fun, seen them turn entire teams invisible and have them teleport ontop of you in an instant, difficult to pull off but looks incredible everytime.
I'm a bit late, but does this build also work for fractals? I don't have EoD yet so I'm searching a viable build for fractals that's not virtouso. Thank you.
He responded to someone else saying he thinks thief runes are too situational but didn't elaborate further. my guess being you lose out on power and ferocity and won't always be able to flank for the dmg boost. Tho from what I know so far that seems to be one of the best ways to get your phantasms, not just yourself to 100% crit chance. As for Scholar, iirc it offers no precision. Might be able to offset by changing all gear to assassin to still hit crit cap but idk off the top of my head. Also I haven't done high- end pve content myself yet, but I imagine it's easier to rely on the guaranteed sub 50% hp dmg boost of eagle's than have to worry about always staying full hp yourself for scholar's boost.
if you took the alacrity trait and a bunch of wells, i suppose it could, but it would be losing a lot of damage without chronophantasma and i think at that point a staff alacrity mirage would be the better option
Currently, which main class is now the most versatile (can change classes at will to good dps, support and open world solo)?? Is thief a good choice since spectre can now support? Or issit engineer?
Changing whatever u want at any time, yeah, i only have 1 legendary ( WvW back piece ) and feels nice to change stats nor recover infusions, buuuuut im too lazy to make an entire set of legendaries ( i didnt finish the free one, the amulet , because i get too lazy to do grothmar stuff haha ) playing since 2014 :D
Force and Accuracy sigils DO NOT work together because they are both Enhancement type and they DO NOT stack, Only the main hand weapon sigil applies every time. I just figured it out a couple of days ago myself, because I noticed I should've had 7% more crit chance, but it does not apply with Force unfortunately
@@Vallun I am Main chrono + other mesmer specs since the old day of alac+quick+tank+dps+distortion (with phantasm trait!) chrono, but atm it does 20k, instead of the 35k/40k of other classes. Either I am doing it wrong or it is not on the same level as the others
@@bamjo9 you're not doing it wrong, you're just worrying about things you shouldn't be :) just keep playing what you like and focusing on winning or succeeding the encounter, not on comparing yourself to arbitrary numbers

it's probably eng or guard! They both can do most of the things in game right now! Also Guard is Anet's fav it will always be good no matter what :p
