I was on OP'S side, even when he admitted to still hating Judith. But, when he said, "It's because of Judith that I lead a miserable life." OP isn't in prison. He chose to focus on work and his daughter. When his daughter was grown, he chose not to pursue personal interests. It was even his choice not to go to the wedding. If the choice is to be miserable than feel disrespected, then it is his choice.
