In every aspect, Ghidorah is the devil of the MonsterVerse series. Known by many names, left among many mythologies as a means to be forgotten out of fear, bringing the hell he emerged from wherever he went. Pure to his character. Ghidorah was every bit as his Showa counterpart, wherever world he comes upon is left in ashes. Even his mannerisms reflect the ruler of the fiery underworld. Vaporizing anything in his sights not because they pose a threat to him, or any naturalistic reason, purely out of enjoyment or malice. He has no regard of the life upon the worlds he claims as his dominion, perhaps even letting his underlings carrying out terraforming while he rules upon a throne of blazing tempest. Even apparently vanished, Ghidorah continues to haunt the MonsterVerse, his very specter assuming the form of Apex's greatest creation, Mechagodzilla. Using the very hubris of humanity to end Godzilla once and for all proves that Ghidorah is a manipulative as he as heartless and destructive. The music captures the essence of the One who is Many, a bombastic tune that is eerily familiar to Akira Ifukube's take on the character, even the Buddhist chanting shows the fact that even his song fears him. This is why MonsterVerse Ghidorah is my favorite version of the character, taking aspects of the alien Showa counterpart, the Emperor of the Cosmos, and making him such a badass.
@Wilt&Blush I knew that i was quoting Lex Luthor from BvS in the scene where the devils painting gets turned upside down since King Ghidorah absolutely fits that statement of being a devil
What i've noticed is that Ghidorah's motif in this movie feels very similar to his Showa motif, although with heavy differences - i think it might just be similar instruments. Regardless, Ghidorah is an awesome design and deserves the King moniker, and a nice return to form after Planet Eater's "Ghidorah". And has tons of cool ideas, like the Wing Lightning, Regeneration, his ancient origins, and still being alien - just in a more realistic sense via being ancient. Although even if the film is... Divisive at best, Ghidorah is one of the best parts.
Fun fact: the first 3 notes in the showa and kotm ghidorah themes have the same chord progression, only difference being the rythim AND the note position they start on, Showa starting on G while kotm starts on D
Lets be honest, the only reason why the movie divisive is bcoz of the monster limited screentime, people wanna see the Monster ie Godzilla, Ghidorah and Mothra more. If the movie anything like Godzilla v Kong, boy it would be somewhat perfect.
I've just found this while looking for the music of each titan in a collection, and the image of "primitive" humans in the cave painting fighting and fleeing from Ghidorah made the quote from Jeff Wayne's Musical Version of The War of the Worlds came to mind to describe the cannons being used against the Martian Fighting Machines, "Bows and arrows against the lightning." I'm sure it's been used elsewhere before, but it really fits both literally and metaphorically here. Ghidorah was quite literally an alien god to the humans back then, and Godzilla was their protector. Humans in their infancy, being chased and hunted by Monster Zero is genuinely terrifying as a concept.

We know better now don't we? The devils don't come from Hell beneath us no, they come from the sky.

With this and pacific rim, Aliens come from the ground and demons from the sky!
Hello
we thought hell was beneath us.. it has fallen from the sky..
This movie was Ghidorah’s biggest accomplishment, king for a whole movie.
When I think of ominous music the chanting and strings are always what come to mind and it’s incredibly catchy for some reason
I really love the motif KOTM has for Ghidroah. 9:05 is also absolutely perfect in making us feel how threatening Ghidroah is
Ghidorah: the Apocalypse, the Destroyer of Worlds, the King of Terror. All will bow before him… or die.

Because Bear Mcreary also composed the soundtrack for god of war?
