Great video, once again. Definitely, one of my favourite TH-cam channels.
Thanks for watching :-)
I took the refurbished X2000 several times and every time I'm amazed by the quality of the ride. Sure it's not nearly as fast as the ICE or Thalys/TGV, but the comfort is truly excellent, in my opinion clearly better than the 2 aforementioned. I also think the interior is very stylish, SJ did a great job with the refurbishing.
I hope i get lucky and try one of the refurbed ones soon! They are great trains
@@Simon-Andersen More are being delivered and put in traffic on the Southern Main Line and the Western Main Line (i.e between Malmö and Stockholm). So your chances of catching one is improving for each day.
@@per-olamjomark7452 Is there any way of knowing if it's a refurbished one beforehand? Or is it all just a surprise?
@@michelleraun7891 no there's no way to know ahead of time unfortunately.
Thanks! This video is so helpful. Just booked my tickets after watching this. 😀
Glad it was helpful! Have a great trip!
Très belle conception, disposition et, surtout, concentration et gestion de tous les anciens et nouveaux projets, distribution des noms de tous et attention portée à la plupart des modifications. Chaque Produits fabriqués avec succès. Merci pour tout. Merci
amazing! Scandinavia is my favorite region in the world. greetings from Berlin
You are a Great singer ❤️
Great train 👍🏻
Great video! We have a trip to Helsinki for Christmas 2023 and we’ll be taking the ferry to Stockholm. After your video we might take the train from STH to Copenhagen for a few days.
If you can get a good deal on the train, do make the trip to Copenhagen. You can sometimes get tickets for less than 400kr return if you book far in advance 😁
Great video ! please dont stop !
p.s. Hello from Ukraine
cant wait to take this train to stockholm
you are the beat channel❤❤❤❤❤
Thank you!
Fun fact: The red "buttons" on the interior doors isn't buttons nor connected to anything, instead there are motion sensors near the roof that opens the door when you move your hand in that area, thats why you had to struggle when trying to open a door that was not completly closed. If you had waved your hand in the air where the button would have been if the door was closed it would have opened instantly. :)
The sensor can be seen near the roof above every door as a white box with a black cut out on the bottom.
Ah that makes sense! We're no stranger to the waving your hand manouvere in Denmark but haven't seen the marking as a button before 😁
That’s not completely true. There are two different types of doors. One with a sensor where the button has no use and one without sensor where you have to push the red button
@@skarlath90Yes, I know that now since writing the comment I did get my X2 training and have driven em for a while! :)
The modernised version of it looks even nicer, although the seats are less comfortable. Electric seat recline and beautiful interior makes up for it tho
The seat is the most important thing, I can't believe they made them worse
Fun fact: The oldest Swedish locomotive type still in revenue service was first built the same year Elizabeth II was born.
That is a crazy fact
La deuxième chose est que je suis très intéressé par le maintien du pont, non pas qu'il soit un lien entre les trois pays. J'espère avoir des références précises sur ce sujet. Merci.
Hey Simon, do you know how long in advanced I need to book the train ticket? Seems like the June period has not yet been opened when I check them today. Also, what’s the difference between the first and standard seats?
Booking usually opens about 120 days in advance so June bookings will open later. In first you get free drinks and snacks as well as a wider seat 2-1 layout instead of 2-2
as swed i have taken the x2000 so many times not to stockholm from copenhagen but from stockholm to gothenburg or to lund
The cleaning crew in Stockholm missed all the trash and debris on the carpets.
It happens if you employ foreigners to work for you.
Greetings from Nepal
😊😊🎉
@@zeusares4217people like you make me ashamed to be human
wtf@@zeusares4217
Would I be able to do this (a round trip) coming from Stockholm and going to Copenhagen and back? Also, where did you book these tickets please?
Yes, you book on sj.se but tickets are sometimes only put on sale 1-3 months in advance
There are actually two locks on the inside of the X2000's toilet doors. One that you use to lock the door when you want to use the facility - and one that I still don't know why it is there. It is that lock that you are fiddling with. Just above the handle. I suspect that the second lock may simply be there to lock the toilet if it is out of order.
The upper lock is to get out if the toilet stops working. If it stops working, an electro-magnetic lock will automatically lock the door and that upper lock is to bypass it in case you are still in there.
What do you suggest? To buy the tickets for february right away or wait for 2, 3 days before the trip? Thank you
As early as possible! It only gets more expensive the more you wait
Excellent video. I am very curious to travel by this train.
Thank you very much! Its a great trip
hi simon, do we pay extra if we have big luggages? how many are we allowed to bring?
No there's no fees, you can bring as much as you can carry yourself without needing assitence
was thinking of travelling from oslo to stockholm on a train but seeing this - i may do this instead - takk
SJ also runs these trains on Oslo to Stockholm, so you dont have to change plans :-)
Cheaper to fly to cph which then pays for the train ticket and the hotel :)
How much train?
Where did you buy tickets ? I can’t find them online!
sj.se but they might not be on sale yet
I hope they run the new X2000 (X2C) to denmark soon as right now they unfortunately only go on Stockholm - Göteborg and Stockholm - Malmö
They are all being fitted with atc for Denmark so they will eventually I think
Thanks, great video!
Would like to check is there a place for passengers to put their big suitcase in the train?
Where is the custom clearance and passport control in the Copenhagen train station before depart to Sweden?
Do you know any VAT tax refund kiosks available in Copenhagen train station before traveler depart to Sweden?
Appreciate if you manage to share some information with me about the questions above. Thanks!
Yes there a few large racks for large luggage across the train, its perfectly safe to leave it there :-)
There is no customs clearence before boarding so you can just get on like any domestic train, but there might be spotchecks onboard the train while crossing into Sweden.
I dont think there is any VAT tax refund options at København H - but the X2000 also stops in Copenhagen Airport so you could consider getting on the train from there.
Hope this helps!
@@Simon-Andersen Thank you so much for the detailed information!
May I know if Kopenhamn H station is also known as Kobenhavn H?
Yes, Köpenhamn H is the swedish way of spelling Copenhagen H and København H is the danish way.
Hi Simon. Can you share the link where to buy tickets from ?
Yes, right here www.sj.se/en/kop-resa/sok/resa/fran-station/till-station/datum
don't ytou know what traqvel agents are for???
Is it safe to leave your luggage in your seat area to get something to eat?
Generally yes
Hello, do you know why I still can’t see tickets for March 16 or 17? Thank you.
For exemple I already can see for 1 day before
No, but sometimes they open certain days later due to trackworks, best just to keep checking
Thank you!
I love sweden and stockholm so much, this train gives me nostalgia (from last summer), everything is better in Sweden (apart from food prices), and I live in London. Random question, what is your favourite place?
Oh man idk, I always love traveling in the Balkans but Finland is also really nice
@@Simon-Andersen really? I've heard Helsinki is the worst Scandinavian capital
@@zacurrya9485 Well I mean it's not scandinavian but according to my limited experience yes. Helsinki does not have anything the others don't, except a shitton of flags and funny language. But Finland as a whole is cool. I think the other nordic countries are just plain better for visitors so I don't know why he likes it so much. Maybe the beautiful snow covered forests in winter?
The whole video is amazing, the only bad thing about it was the fact that seat '24' was chosen. But it's just a cultural thing, 24 is considered a very bad number in my native language.
You are free to pick any seat when you reserve the ticket. Thanks for the kind words :-)
What?!?
The model railway is back??
It definitely was just a few months ago when this was shot
That 30 minute delay and 5 minute cleaning time is more than half of the flight time if you had just taken a flight. Great video and informative video though.
Thanks and indeed, but a delay might as well have happened to a flight 😊. Also worth considering that the train to Arlanda Airport in Stockholm costs 35 euro oneway
I would still choose the train over flying, as it is more relaxing and better for working. Unless connecting to another flight of course.
The only time I caught an X2000 unit was from Kongsvinger to Oslo S. I am a big fan of Kobenhavn H, but not so Platform 26. The footbridge is metal, and when it is covered in snow, it is lethal like a skating rink ! I had to cling to handrails and pray I did not fall to my death. The 4 storey pink coloured building at 2:00 on the left side of the railway, is the Hotel Astoria, which is where I stayed twice.
Best regards from London England.
Platform 26 really is a disgrace, i think its been used less in recent times, but they still send the X2000 there sometimes which always causes a big mess with all the luggage going up and down
I agree.
X2000 swedish high speed train within 20 world's most beaitiful train
I do hope that you meant to say “feeling peckish” (and not Peckerish) ;-) But very informative video. Thanks
I sure did 😂
Hi, was there anyone onboard checking the luggage which you bring onboard?
Nope, with all my journeys on trains across europe never had i had any check my luggage, as long as you can carry it by yourself there should be no problems :-)
@@Simon-Andersen the question was a securitrity issue, checking for bombs etc. like the TSA checking in the USA before flights
how to be scared just movin' out of our house!! How did you even make it vto the airport in the USA????
Who'd want the aggravation of airport checkin times, customs checks (perhaps), security BS & all the rest ! Great video & English commentary thx ! It's "peckish" not peckerish btw, "pecker" is very rude slang in some English-speaking countries lol
Thanks for watching, wont make that mistake next time :P
Hi Simon can you ride the now x2000 to in Malmö
Its high on my priority list!
One thing we cannot do properly on the trains is door opening
Are you danish? Because your danish sounded good?
I am!
I love you show the "quiet zone" but theres a woman talking on the phone xD
Its only as good as the people who travel in it :P
there is always a Karen!!!
what train line is this??
Copenhagen to Stockholm?
@@Simon-Andersen as in the names of the line, i'm sure theres more than one line. in england we use line names like west coast mainline etc
@@tom7131 Ah like that! Train travels over Øresundsbanen - (Citytunneln) - Södra stambanan - Västra stambanan
@@Simon-Andersen thank you, i want to do this one day, the scenery looks amazing! far better than flying
I did the same thing
Can you take bicycle on this train?
Unfortunatly not
@@Simon-Andersen is there any other option to have this trip having your bike in the train?
Not really no. Your best bet is to get a Øresundståg up to Gothenburg and a Flixtrain from there.
I live in Stockholm and i can help maybe for your swedish
its not a 15 min walk to platform 26. 5 min tops if you are very slow.
Yes if you know the station well. Its signposted as 15 min on the signs 1:35, better safe than sorry
muricans do not know how to walk!!
Compare this to even Japan's 300 series shinkansen and this will look primitive.🤣🤣
5:18 I have to be picky. It's A'lvesta, not Alve'sta. The intonation is on the first syllable.A very common mispronunciation, especially by the Stockhomers 🙂
Will keep in mind next time! Guess we Copenhageners also fell into that trap :P
The self-service even in the microwave oven is the absolute low point. 🤢
then fly! you will pprobly get the same food, just brought to your seat in the air!!
Replacing the IC3 with old IC Choaches is the most idiotic thing ever
Because it’s necessary. There is only so many IC3’s left because they where meant to be replaced decades ago by the IC4 but today there’s less IC4 operational than IC3’s because they where made so badly so just the fact that there’s still even IC3’s running is amazing. Also Eurocity routes often use older trains and reserve the newest for the country I can imagine once the IC5 arrives in 2027-2028 it will probably be replaced by IC3 again maybe even IC4
How much?
Riding the X2000 is a b-s way to travel! Extremely expensive ticket fares and the food is barely edible! I suggest strongly that SJ studies for ex the spanish Renfe trains in order to learn what real train travel is about! The X2000 is an embarressement when compared to other countries high performance trains!
damn i live in canada and train travel is very expensive...this is cheap....wow....do the trains have wifi? plus our trains are slow,, take hours to get anywhere and stop frequently.....canada is more like third world compared to Scandinavia....tks,,,nice informative video
Yes X2000 has Wifi - I visited Canada last year and what a stark difference when it comes to trains
remember rails are for transportstion of goods - not people, they require too much. So freight trains have priority, but even those run on schedule - or do they in canada? ex car control officer from Danish state Railroad here
