The Pearl Seaways was built in 1989 for the Swedish partner Rederi AB Slite in the Viking Line consortium as the m/s Athena. She was the biggest ferry in the world when she was delivered and served the Stockholm - Mariehamn (Åland Islands) 24 hour cruise route. :)

Great video! Thank you! My wife and I were wondering about the ferry ride as well. So this is very helpful. Will the ferry be the same from Oslo to Copenhagen? And do you know if it will be super crowded in June? It felt great seeing the open space of your ferry ride in November

I am planning a trip in Oct, this will be my first time taking a cruise! I usually suffer car sick I hope I survive this cruise without seasick. Any recommendation on which area of the room should I book (tail or head of the ferry?) to prevent seasick? Thanks in advance ❤
Hey KK, nothings worse than getting seasick! Tail is always better. If you feel unwell go on deck and get some fresh air. If that does not work head to your cabin, lay down and turn off the light. Good luck!
There is no DFDS sign at the Copenhagen Central Station bus stop. Keep an eye out for “DFDS Shuttle bus”. I would like to take the bus to the ferry terminal but was confused by this statement I read on DFDS website. Where exactly is this bus stop if there is no sign? Where should I wait for the bus?
There is a parking lot by the station where the bus stops. Don't worry, you'll find it, but here is some info from the DFDS website. www.dfds.com/en/passenger-ferries/passenger-information/bus-transfer/copenhagen DFDS offers bus transfers between the DFDS Terminal and Copenhagen City Centre. The shuttle bus stops at the following locations in the city centre: Nørreport (Øster Voldgade 2C) Copenhagen Central Station (Banegårdspladsen)
The footage shown here is actually a mix from both the ships; Pearl Seaways and Crown Seaways - so it's not all from the same trip :-) The two ships have all the same concepts, but the lay-out is quite different in many ways. Also, the staff is different, and unique to each ship. This video functions as an amalgamation of both ships! :-)
@@norwaywithpal Yeah, I'd say it's mostly from Pearl, but interspersed with shots from Crown - f.ex. the wine and beer racks from the Tax Free are from Crown (but the rest of the tax free shots are probably Pearl), the Seven Seas buffet seems to be from Crown, and so are the music quiz shots, "house band" performance (I think?) and the Guest Service Centre. The concepts are similar for both ships, though - except Pearl operates a casino, whereas Crown offers a night club on the deck above the Columbus Club. (These two features are not always available - depends on demand, etc.) Love your videos, I think they are great! IMO you do an excellent job in promoting Norwegian destinations and tours - doubt I've seen anyone do it better. New subscriber, here 🙂 Ps. In January, now (2023), it'll only be Crown (my favorite) sailing, so departures will only be every other day, from the respective destinations. I really, really recommend the beer tasting session in the Red & White wine bar (renamed Northern Lights in the new year). I felt that that one offered astonishing value for money - especially considering you get a personal presentation, so not as part of a group. The host in the Crown version was brilliantly genial and enthusiastic. Both ships have very entertaining and enthusiastic quiz hosts, in my experience.
@@alf-erikritsland1051 Hey, thanks for all the helpful info! I will have to do that beer tasting the next time. The Quiz was really fun! Absolutely entertaining. Love from India. I wish to go there once. I may ask for your help❤
thank you! I hope you'll make it to Norway some day. Let me know :)
I found a 35 euro ticket for two on the omio website for the ferry. Don't you think it's very cheap? Will there be any problem if we take it from there?
Sometimes they give good discounts just to fill up the ferry, counting that you'll spend money in the duty free, restaurants etc
Hallo
Great video! Thank you! My wife and I were wondering about the ferry ride as well. So this is very helpful. Will the ferry be the same from Oslo to Copenhagen? And do you know if it will be super crowded in June? It felt great seeing the open space of your ferry ride in November
Hi there! Thanks for watching. There are two ferries but they are quite similar and provide the same experience. Might be crowded in June, hard to say, but you can expect more people on a weekend. Enjoy!
@@norwaywithpal Thank you so much. Please keep it up with the videos.
Good luck!
Thanks a lot for your advice!
At what time of the year did you record this video please?
@@hamzakhomsi Hi there, this was in November
There is no DFDS sign at the Copenhagen Central Station bus stop. Keep an eye out for “DFDS Shuttle bus”. I would like to take the bus to the ferry terminal but was confused by this statement I read on DFDS website. Where exactly is this bus stop if there is no sign? Where should I wait for the bus?
There is a parking lot by the station where the bus stops. Don't worry, you'll find it, but here is some info from the DFDS website.
www.dfds.com/en/passenger-ferries/passenger-information/bus-transfer/copenhagen
DFDS offers bus transfers between the DFDS Terminal and Copenhagen City Centre. The shuttle bus stops at the following locations in the city centre:
Nørreport (Øster Voldgade 2C)
Copenhagen Central Station (Banegårdspladsen)
Thank you very much
I like ur videos, hungry traveller from Algeria 😊
Thank you :)
Great video..Should have added costs too..
Thanks! Costs are constantly fluctuation based on season and demand
So is there a ferry from Bergen to Copenhagen?
Nope, but there is a ferry from Bergen to Hirtshals (Denmark)
How early should I get to the terminal? an hour before departure?
If you are on foot then 1 hour before is good 👍 check in closes 15 min before departure
Bookable for £24 return atm as a mini-cruise. Tempted
Nice price 👍👍👍
How much boat ticket? is it boring?
Depends on the cabin/day of the week etc. starting from around 100 eur. I think it’s very relaxing 😎
Hey very informative and helpful video..... I am planing a 8-9 days trip to copenhegan, oslo and stockholm can u help... How can we connect

The footage shown here is actually a mix from both the ships; Pearl Seaways and Crown Seaways - so it's not all from the same trip :-)
The two ships have all the same concepts, but the lay-out is quite different in many ways. Also, the staff is different, and unique to each ship.
This video functions as an amalgamation of both ships! :-)
well observed Alf-Erik! We filmed a few scenes on the way down as well :)
(These two features are not always available - depends on demand, etc.)
Love your videos, I think they are great! IMO you do an excellent job in promoting Norwegian destinations and tours - doubt I've seen anyone do it better. New subscriber, here 🙂
Ps.
We were only 1 point away from winning :o
"the Seven Seas buffet seems to be from Crown, and so are the music quiz shots, "house band" performance (I think?) and the Guest Service Centre." Yep you are right about that.
Thanks for subscribing to my channel :)
@@norwaywithpal I never miss out on the music quiz - it's great fun :-)
Dislike for not publishing prices.
Prices fluctuate from week to week based on supply and demand, and tend to increase every years, so not really any point putting out prices. But they are one click away on their website: www.dfds.no

The price changes regularly. It’s different now than when I published the video. You can easily find it if you use the resources I point to in the video. Good luck!
