- It has been quite a while since we’ve cracked open Mrs. Rorer’s Sandwiches of 1912. So today, I am gonna try the Windsor Sandwich. It has the hallmarks of a club sandwich, three layers of bread, chicken, a smokey pig product, yet is decidedly not a club sandwich. Still could be pretty good though.

You didn't chop the ketchup!
Who the heck eats whole, unchopped ketchup?! Gross!
I like choppin the ketch
I would have put it in the blender
I keep looking for 'chopped cream' at the Safeway, but have not been able to find it!
look by the cottage cheese....
In old cook book parlance, "chopped" is the most basic rough cut, akin to "diced". After that you have "finely chopped" followed by "minced" which is about as fine as you can get it without using a meat grinder.
Colnbrook the other day, now Windsor? It's (I'm sure 100% unintentionally) Berkshire week on Sandwiches of History!
Chopped salt....Ha, ha. Throw these things in a hand blender, might work out better.
Gulden's Spicy Brown Mustard on ham side...
Tough to save a dry sandwich like that. Plus it up by minusing it up: remove the surplus bread?
Let’s plus up your tomato. Store bought tomatoes are generally tasteless. Along with salt and pepper, some granulated lemon. Or lemon juice in a pinch!
Seasoning the tomato is the most essential part of a balanced sandwich!
That does look tasty. You should have tied a tie, after eating it. People in 1912 would have laughed at that.
What's supposed to be holding this together lol. I was getting stressed about bits falling out as you picked it up. A little mayo and ketchup doesn't seem like enough!
Skip the lettuce… Batter that sandwich and deep fry it then serve it with a dipping sauce of your choice
it is a sandwich
I made a variation of this with Canada bacon in place of ham, the bread un-buttered, and I added the tomato as you later did. I think it makes a better version.
dude what in the world was up with this Mrs. Rorer?
I kinda feel. Mayo and the veg.
Chopped salt???
I mean, it looks good, but it confounds me why all these recipes called for chopped chopped chopped - it seems like all those unbound chopped pieces of meat will just fall all over the place.
CHOPPED!
Shade on the windsor sandwich! Love it.
adding cream instead of mayo seem so strange now, lol. i fully expected the hot sauce plus up or cowboy candy to give it some pizzazz, but nonetheless, another fabulous, strange, sandwich of yore!
I bet a Windsor salad sandwich would be better!
I love chopped pepper.
I also would plus it up with chopped ketchup
All of the flavors were there. It did look very dry though.
Congratulations on 30k subscribers!!! Keep up the great work!!! ♥️🥪❤
Thank you so much!!
What the hell is chopped cream?😂
Cottage cheese
