  • In this archival episode of All Day Vinyl's LEGENDS Podcast from mid 2020, host Scott Dudelson speaks with Rock and Roll Hall of Fame member and Traffic Co-Founder Dave Mason.
In this clip Dave talks about his debut album "Alone Together" and why he didn't like his original vocals and felt the desire to re-record the full album in 2019. I remember buying Dave's first album in a record shop in Soho central London shortly after its release. The actual vinyl was designed to look like marble but Dave once said that it looked more like sick.

Rediscove try ing this album. So far, surprised at how well it holds up. Also , he’s like the Forest Gump of the 60’s. He crossed paths w everyone!

Love Dave. I saw him with Traffic at Leeds University in 1967! BTW, Dave, obviously, doesn't rate himself as a singer but - and a big BUT - he is such a natural sounding singer unlike his fellow Traffic member Stevie Winwood who - particularly - back then was just doing a Ray Charles impersonation.
