Hey guys, sorry for the reupload. I had a bunch of messages from subscribers after uploading that they weren't notified about the video and weren't seeing it in their sub box. I think something about that video was buggy, so I decided to reupload it and just hope that it does better this time. I hope you all are having a wonderful Thursday and the next episode will release on Thanksgiving next week, so if dinner with your family becomes a little too much to bear, you can retire to a different room and think about the magical town of Twin Peaks for 20 or so minutes.
I have already watched the entire series 3 times, this is making me want to start it all over again, i just wish i could forget S3 so i could re-watch it without knowing about episode 8.
i've always found it a mystery that Laura could do all the things she was doing before she died. there's only so much time in the day, but she's going to school, cheerleading, dating a couple of guys, sourcing and snorting cocaine, having weird relationships with her therapist and the shut-in dude, working a couple of jobs... almost forgot, she's also keeping a detailed journal about this all too.
Watching Twin Peaks with two of my friends who had never seen it before was honestly one of the best experiences of my life. Absolutely the best show of all time, no doubt about it. Thanks for this series, kino. Very based
Doing the same with a buddy of mine. It seems that selling Twin Peaks to people to watch on their own is a hard sell, but watching it with them is pretty great. Even if they don't get into the weirdness it's fun to speculate together
What I truly adore about Lynch films is the choice of the cast. You can almost feel the characters intentions simply by looking at their distinct appearances. It is as if the actors are enthralled by Lynch's influence on them on set, much like Cpt. WiIllard in Apocalypse Now. Your videos are excellent in my opinion. Keep up the good work buddy.
The major spoilers joke really got me. I just started watching the show for the first time, and I wasn't sure if I should stop watching this video at that point. Luckily, I can't understand log.
Lynch seems to use the colour blue to amplify mystery, energy, danger, attraction and "strangeness" (Note that electricity generates blue light). Remember the Blue Rose from later in the show, the Blue Box from Mulholland Drive and Blue Velvet from... Blue Velvet, and see how they are connected. When Hawk goes towards the blue room he follows the mystery. It seems to me, Lynch generally doesn't create symbols for symbol's sake. It's always to amplify what's already there. In a sense, Lynch seems to me to be anti-symbolist. "I mean it like it is... like it sounds." When you hear Lynch talking about his work in interviews, whenever he's asked about the meaning of his works he either refuses to or talks about the work in very literal terms, in regards to how a thing feels, sounds, and how those sensations relate to other things, even philosophical ideas, and lead to one common source. This aligns with Lynch's interest in Transcendental Meditation, where one supposedly is able to mentally reach that first source of all things and realise that everything is like one big dream, shared and created by all. In that sense, to Lynch the meaning of a thing is what a thing "is" and "how it sounds." Of course, if you can, within reason, find other ways of analysing his work then it might also turn out to be otherwise meaningful. Mark Frost, for instance, approaches the show more from the psychoanalytical angle.
Somewehere in the cellar there stil is a box with VHS-Tapes containing all the Twin Peaks episodes i recorded from TV, because I was so much in love with this series. Never rewatched it though, but I thoroughly enjoy you doing it for me. 🙂
random and ghey but you should get one of those white irish sweaters, wear it with some light blue jeans and do a smile/nod with a pint in your hand to everyone - you remind me of a hip art student in a pub in an english movie from the 70s, in a good way
I wish the series had explored Laura's depth in the sense that she wasn't simply a binary half-good/half-bad girl, but that she was a whole, flawed person who went out of her way to organize Meals on Wheels for needy people while simultaneously being a freaky-deaky girl with a coke problem. Shows like Fleabag explore this dichotomy of a deeply flawed but sympathetic heroine.
Pete is Catherine's brother, not her husband. She's married to Andrew Packard. Edit- At least, I always thought that. Pete refers to her as his sister several times.
Andrew was married to Josie before he got blown up and made Josie a widow, Pete is married to Catherine who I believe is Andrew's sister and would have the mill if it wasn't for Josie
I'm not gonna lie I tried watching the show a few months back and just stopped because I felt the mystery going no where fast. I've enjoyed these reviews more than the actual show 💀🤣
This is mainly the problem of season 2, and higher up tampering with a creative vision of author. When comparing witty and thrillling first season to a slog of first half of second season. But i mean, for me, i don't care about mystery aspect as much. I just like the shenanigans those weirdos get into, characters in the show are so entertaining

Dumbledore gave her a time-turner.

You sound like you have a lot of strong opinions about women.
You mean fronthole creatures? Yeah I got some thoughts. @@nohaybando9586
More wind!
There are few things I look forward to more than these deep dives into Twin Peaks on TH-cam. Very Kino. 🤌
