Right is right and left is wrong. At least for charge ports. Reasons: Public charging on the side of the road. I don't want the plug pointing to the traffic. Garage parking. With the car parked on the right side, I can walk around the left side without stumbling over the cable.
The right side is the only right side for the charging port. At least if you live in a city (and there are quite a look of people living in cities). You park on the right side of the street and the AC chargers are also right. So you don't have to put the Typ2 cable around the whole car and when you plug it in, the cable stands out into the driving lane. Thats super invoncenient! For the DC charging its not that much of a problem to go around the car to plug it in ;)
In my opinion, the Fiat 500e has the most beautiful steeringwheel on the market. And I like the fact that the buttons on it are real physical buttons and not touch areas.
I have an old 1.6 16v Sport version. I would LOVE to have an all-electric one. The car is indeed very small, but I never found myself in a situation where I missed room for what I need to carry. The upside is that the turning radius of this little car is unbelievable, and parking is pure bliss.
I'm tall but I like small cars and convertibles. The closest EV to what I want (until maybe a Mini EV convertible). I like your honest review of the previous version!
I am so excited to find this out when the one my mom and I bought will finally be delivered. We ordered the La Prima in mid-March so it's probably going to take at least one more month. But I am so excited and can't wait anymore and I also don't want to wait anymore 🙈
I have had the same model for just over a month.. loads of software niggles that Fiat are slowly sorting out..But just love it to bits..Roof down trip to the coast and ( at the moment they are fairly rare) loads of admirers when you park up.
I did a test drive on a 500 not cabrio, well was power enough for a small car, confortable enough too. But of course for short rides. A negative point i found is in highway there is a anoing noise coming from the rear spoil, maybe they should fixed it. The price i think is also a bit high.
why is right side charging port the wrong side ? in right lane driving countries. it is closer to a wall mounted charger port. it prevents cyclist from bumping into charging cables.... I dont see how in most configurations left side is the best place for charging port.
The sandwich box at the rear looks just the ticket. And with the seats down, there'd be room for a bottle of wine and a couple of glasses. Surprised they didn't provide a sun-visor mirror for the ladies, especially as it's Italian, but it's a groovy little piece of retro chic!
you can pick up the old model only available in California cheap used! - not sure if your getting the new one as you don't buy many small cars like we do in Europe
@@wermagst Plenty of room for a gym bag and a coffee! Parking would be painless. A car for those who never carry more than the driver and .25 passengers.
@@miketrebert7788 That's pretty much the definition of a "lifestyle" car. Take a look at the e-Up. It's shorter than the Fiat but you can actualy fit 4 adults in the car and have a usable trunk.
@@wermagst but still, in the 500e you can do real long distance trips in shorter travel times than with classic Ioniq (28kWh). At least I would and I'm driving Ioniq 28, will drive for vacation from Hannover to Sweden and Norway starting this weekend. Did so before in the other direction (Tuscany). And I definitely would do the same in a 500e :-) (and similarly before Ioniq, with girlfriend in a Citgo [fossil] to Poland)
Very cute little city car, the fit and finish seems good too. I looks chic ! Perfect for a couple without children (it's OK if the dog is tiny too) for everyday use. So far I like it too, very curious about the other test results :)
I'm the happy owner of a 500e 3+1 "La Prima" edition and just love her (her name is Penelope). Tha cabrio version is very very cool but as much unpractical... If you push the pedal, it does 220-240 km. If you drive in city only it can get easily 300-340. 260 is the average. It is anyway our 2nd family car.
Nice review..but i think this version is the "full spec cabrio" with bigger wheels,(more consumtion, more roadnoice) and the cargospace in back are limited a lot..but nice anyway👍
@Bjørn Nyland the wtf is this is a towing rod. You have spaces in the front where you can screw it in. Usually hidden under a rectangle cap somewhere in the front bumper
looks good and it feels like it has better build quality than the 2007-2021 Fiat 500 but Id rather buy a Mini because of its driving dynamics, resale value, premium feeling, power...
The Fiat 500 e is really a nice car. The look and feel is great and also the infotainment/ assistant systems work great. Really like it. But I can't use it, because the middle mirror is so big in the middle, that I with my 1,95m height can't see to the right correctly unfortunately.
the only electric cabrio for the win. but the la prima version is really expensive. hopefully there is a mini se cabrio very soon available with minimum 40kWh battery (better 50kWh) and rear wheel drive.
The hook in the trunk is used to tow the car in case of an accident. A circular plug in the front comes out, the towing hook screws in and the towtruck can move the car :)
17.7 kWh per 100 km at an average speed of 60 km/h shows that this car is rather "inefficient" compared e.g. to a Model 3, as it is surely much lighter, and much slower in acceleration as well.....,or? Will be interesting to see what your fast and slow driving results are....
Tests done by other reviewers in Norway has shown 14.7-15.6 consumption tested at +3 degrees Celsius wet weather. Will be interesting to see what Bjørn finds.
right side, which is the wrong side, left side, which is the right side, front side which is opposite the backside, upside which is ontop of the downside 😂😂
if you want more space I suggest you buy a Tesla model S, you will not have problems with space for rear passengers and luggage, if it is not enough you can always buy a truc
I bought Honda E instead earlier this year. It's a more pricey car and have less range than Fiat 500e, I know. But Honda E is overall better in all other aspects.
Right is right and left is wrong. At least for charge ports.
Reasons:
Public charging on the side of the road. I don't want the plug pointing to the traffic.
Garage parking. With the car parked on the right side, I can walk around the left side without stumbling over the cable.
I don't care how impractical this car is, it's just so cute and the interior (and exterior) is so charming.
It's great for the city
Looks nice but will it fit into a banana box?

Even though I'm a Tesla fanboy, I still want this car! Looks perfect for the morning commute.
You won't do road trips with that, but it soo cute!
@@stesegreto656 We’ve done a couple of 100+ mile road trips in ours, no problems.

Dont know if vw still makes it, but the E-UP! was super spaciuos for tall people considering it's size
VW has been teasing an ID.3 convertible.
I wonder how different is to enter the back seats on the other 500e model with the “third door”.

When Bjorn stood up at the end it made it look like one of those Radio Flyer Teslas!
My Wify loves this car too... So I'll probably have to get it aswell
Jes waiting for my own which will arrive in September 👍
Same. First week of September if there's no delay.
7:05 fun fact: in the wireless charging the put a little representation of the Turin's skyline

Hello from Torino (Turin) my friend!
Finally 500e
What a nice car. Bjørn will there be a range and charge review? Thank You

1000km challenge incoming? 😅🤪
I hope not for the sanity of bjørn haha
No need to when you can calculate like a ninja.
With sleep in the car? 😬
How about a trip to North Cape?! 😉🤣
Can’t wait for the 1000 km challenge! Would be super fun!
Great video and review. Lovely car, better than a honda-e?
Better range, quick charging; less space.
Really nice car. How ever. Small issue is that you cant set SoC limit in the car. At least not that me or my gf can find in the infotainment
Absolutely love this. Electric cabriolet is a winner.
finally, I love this car! If this was here in America id buy it immediately
you can pick up the old model only available in California cheap used! - not sure if your getting the new one as you don't buy many small cars like we do in Europe
Why can't a small car be a luxury car? Great design for a CITY car.
More "lifestyle" or "fun" car, like a spider convertible than a city car. Even in a city car I expect a usable trunk.

Hatchback or "3+1" version looks more practical.
You honestly do not buy this car for practicality. I have one and it is about fun, it is about weekends away. As a second car I can not fault it.
Bravo Bjorn , buy it ! 🇮🇹🇮🇹🇮🇹
My wife loves this, & if Fiat Ireland ever get their finger out we might even buy one!
It is a lovely color! Fiat rools!
Not really, a shitty brand. They considered to pull ut from US again...
Finally the 500e: thanks Bjorn!

Nice city car. Maybe I'll be lucky and borrow it from some carsharing company.
So a wifey approved car! Nice 👍🏼.
Nice little car, just a bit pricey.
You should do the banana box test and try how many fiat 500e fit into a banana box
Will you test it for longer trips… ?
I could be convinced to buy it and use it for work with some distance driving… Say 500 KM for a day trip…
Roadster go home 🤣👌
