A couple of reflections from an happy Italian owner. The design was decided, closed and executed far before the PSA & FCA merge in Stellantis, so there is nothing in common with any Stellantis car PSA side whatsoever. The Sherpa mode is when you fear for remaining autonomy: it limits power, shut off HVAC etc. in order to bring you home (like a real sherpa guide). Range is the proper EV mode while Normal is for those not used with one-pedal drive yet.

@@Gabztar97 it is a fact that this ccar is mainly bought by women, because of the so called kindchen schema (baby scheme) it is the proportions which activate that instinct. the 500e looks a bit chubby and podgy (?) this makes that we find bumblebees nicer than wasps, we like hamsters more than rats etc. this instinct is so strong, that it even works with machines. that´s why females prefer it and therefore are mor4 female than male drivers.so people have the impression it´s a women´s car.
When you are in Range mode you have same power as Normal, but a far more effective Regen and, even more useful, a autohold mode not available in Normal. I own this nice car and I always drive in Range mode, it’s so convenient and effective that I almost never use mechanical brakes!
Also an owner, range mode is just lovely! and I particularly like that the regen is less severe at high speeds such as on a motorway. That coupled with the level 2 autonomy is a treat! Don't use the brakes in 70% of my journeys 😁 Also very happy with the 'cancel' button for the ACC so that you don't have to press the brake to deactivate it. I'm one of those that's in cruise control for any road longer than 200m.

I have had many journeys with solely 30-50-70kph zones that I averaged under 100wh/km in which case the car could go 400km+ but I haven't measured it exactly. if you're driving in an old European cities where it's CONSTANT accelerating and decelerating between 5 and 30kph then your consumption will be higher lol. Slower isn't always better. All this is different in winter but I find, because of the car's tiny size that anytime it's at least 5C out, I don't even turn on the heating. It's warm so quickly just from your body. But in case you are wondering, the same type of journeys as I talked about before in winter(-5C to +5C) with the heating on I tend to use about 150wh/km. Range is about 250km then. With the heating off or at least not on all the time, maybe just in the beginning until it's nice and toasty, you can manage 300km. Assuming you don't have too heavy of a right foot, haha, which you might as the car has quite a bit more power than advertised- but is electronically limited to 97kW(130hp)
Hi Bjørn, I recently purchased a Renault Twingo ZE and drove it about 3000km. I am a Tesla Model 3 SR+ owner too (2years/40.000km). Twingo ZE (only 22kwh battery) it's really a fun car, hope you can test it make videos about it. Roberto
In RANGE mode, using the brake pedal increase the REGEN. And in NORMAL mode, the brake pedal engages REGEN. Quote from the manual “The "eBraking" mode, which is always active regardless of the selected operating mode activates the high-voltage battery charging when the brake pedal is pressed, thereby recovering energy during braking.”
Drove it for a bit and yes the MG is really god value. Only thing is long distance trips take a bit of patience. But medium trips are fine. Family lives 260km away and because of children we take a stop halfway and that is perfect for the MG.
well, if you drive it in a temperate way, let´s say 110 kmh as a maximum speed, you have a range of 250 km, so that you can cover more than 600 km with two charging stops of 30 minutes after 250 and 500 km. the fast charging and long range enables such distances in a reasonable time
Such a great car. Fiat is killing it with the new 500. Really acceptable range, decent charging speed, great design, cabrio option. This will be a banger. Surely.
@@jeroenislego but i think the prices raise too fast. from 27.000 for an icon version up to now 32.000. within 18 months...it is still the biggest selling electric car, still nr. 1, beating even tesla, but how long... even if you take into account that it is well equipped, with a realtively big battery and a good range, better than other cars, it is still a micro car, nut suitable fpr family use, and 32.000 euros ist a lot of money.... too much fpr a lot of people, and still growing in price
The old electric 500 was bad because it was made from petrol car and kinda aftermarket conversion made by Micro Vett company, it was not made by Fiat and made only for Californian markets to achieve their emission standards. Then they started to ship them from USA as used cars to other markets. This new is build from scratch only as EV- this is totally new car with new platform , and not related to petrol 500 or that old 500e at all.

The car does not have a charging limit, does charging the car to 100% will bring extra battery wear or does fiat limit the actual charge. Showing that it charged to 100% but in actual capacity will only be charged 90%? I dont have an obd to see if 100% in dashboard equals 100% in real capacity. Thanks!

you don´t like the seats, but that is really absolutely subjective and depends mostly on what you expect.in most other reviews the seats are praised for their comfort and the sidde support. you must not forget that you don´t drive a premium car, so your expectations and measures should take that into account. maybe the seats feel "uncomfortable" on longer distances, but this car is mainly designed for urban use, so mostly you don´t sit there for hours.
Bjorn, Please, pretty please will you ship the car to the USA when you are done testing. We don't have any small EV cars in the States to buy. Or, please call Stellantis or Fiat in Torino and ask them to re-evaluate their Global development for worldwide production....gone is the BMW i3, the GM Bolt is a fiasco and Hyundai cars are too big!

@@andies9817 he talks about overtaking slowly and he locked eyes with the driver, it felt awkward. Like locking eyes at a urinal, specially those horrible metalic ones that multiple guys stand next to each other. The awkward feeling is limitless.
The only thing i find dumb with this car..more so being a EV is wingmirrors..you have to push them in by hand and then go to the passenger side and fold that in by hand too...no automatic electric wingmirrors on any car in 2022 is pathetic but a EV is even more so

It’s cute and great for city driving, but with a range of only 100 miles, no possibility of FSD and what we’re expecting from Tesla in the next year or two it rather depends on your time frame. I can these becoming 90% of the cars in Notting Hill within a year.
Tesla has 2 major problems, othwrwise its excellent, the 2 problems are, their exterior design is kinda horrible, only good looking Tesla has been Model s, the second problem is the interior cheapyness (eg. only one tablet as dashboard) and overall build quality (panel gaps, paint quality , faults) , also all this combined to very high price isnt so tempting.
You clearly haven't tried Model 3 SR+ MIC. No panel gaps. Perfect build quality and design. No issues at all. And big screen is excellent to use compared to legay automakers with buggy and laggy tiny infotainment screens.

I love my little 500e with the small battery. It’s so well made.
If I didn’t need wheelchair and Dog space I’d have had one. Went for the MG ZS in the end. Surprisingly, I’m finding it really enjoyable.
The MG seems realy good value for money to me. My sister has a 500e, also very nice.

It closes without being windy at all. A bit more noisy than the hatchback, but we don’t notice we’ve got the Cabrio top until we open it.
