I've suffered from Migraines since my teens and am now 68. I recently cut out milk from my diet as I was consuming quite a bit in strong tea and coffee. Initially I stopped coffee as caffeine was a major suspect but I was struggling to quit tea. I then met someone who told me how he used to get bad migraines which ceased when he gave up dairy. So I tried black tea with lemon which made me milk free.....and my headaches and migraines stopped after a lifetime even though I'm still consuming some cream and cheese. incidentally probiotics are only necessary if you have an inappropriate diet i.e. one that is high in carbs, sugar and processed foods (like most of the world).
I really appreciate the emphasis on switching foods of diet instead of elimination dieting; my naturalopathic doctor had been excellent in recommending vegetables to add and gluten free grains like amaranth, millet, buckwheat, sorghum, and quinoa.
Hey there! I’ve had migraine with auras for about 6/7 years. I am on the Keto diet trying to eliminate my migraines. Added sugar is a trigger for me so I avoid desserts. I am still getting migraines on the keto diet. I suspect that heavy cream and sour cream are triggers for me. So now I’m trying to do keto and dairy free, i feel so restricted :(
Yes that can definitely be frustrating. I would recommend finding a local and trusted functional medicine practitioner to run some food sensitivity testing and detox the gut. I also offer other ways to help here: migraineclass.com/free-online-workshop

WOO-HOO! Sooooo glad you got better! Yeah, 2/3 of adults can't digest lactose, which is in milk but not other dairy products like cheese and yogurt.
