Lol 1 2 and 6 are the same 3 and 5 are the same and alcohol being high in sugar you can throw that in with 3 and 5 and chocolate has sugar and caffeine. Last garlic and onions. So basically 3 things not 8 🙄

Your insights re the biochemical causes of anxiety are so much more on target than those videos which focus on "facing your fears." My experience has been that the biochemical and medical causes of anxiety should first be fully investigated before even considering psychological remedies.

This a great point. Biophysiological triggers are paramount. I'm fairly certain that what is creating a big amount of my anxiety is my diet.

Wow, this was on point with everything. Loved the video. Had no idea about Onions and Garlic, but it makes sense because Sages who eat Satvik diets in India don't eat onions and garlic. I'm gonna give all of this a try. Thank You!

Completely agree with 1-7, which all contain either sugar, caffeine, alcohol or a combination. But I don't think onions and garlic are bad for most people. They contain a lot of vitamins, minerals and antioxidants.
I guess it's more a question of preparation or digestibility since for example many people have problems when digesting raw onions.

Actually what causes anxiety is inflammation in the brain so eating inflammatory foods like too much omega 6 and not enough omega 3, most foods are cooked with cheap vegetable oils that increase anxiety but even foods such as peanuts, sunflower seeds, margarine, eggs, almonds, seeds and soy if u consume too much of it without eating omega 3 like seafood, u can develop anxiety.
Other foods that can cause anxiety
      - nightshades such as potatoes, tomatoes and eggplant
      - pickles
      - cured meats
      - aged cheese
      - dark chocolate
      - energy drinks
      - coffee
      - chips
      - foods high in saturated fat such as red meat, bacon, cheese, eggs, chocolate, biscuits, cakes, pastries pies and dairy
      - dairy products can be inflammatory

Thankyou dear 4 hours ago I had coffee and I knew it was little risky but I never knew it's no 1 anxiety causing food.
Suddenly negative and unwanted question started tinkling my brain and I started feeling empty at the back of head.I knew it was anxiety attack. And I somehow recovered from it after taking a pill and watching some motivational video to avoid unwanted thoughts and question that rise in the brain due to that anxiety condition.

I notice huge difference when I quit sugar and alcohol I not realize re onions
I am a bit disappointed to hear u say lentils and beans as I’m vegan and need them so I won’t stop those and don’t actually think they make me anxious
What else do I have for protein if vegan ?
The coffee u are so right but I just can’t quit yet I am down to one weak one in the morning and yoga and exercise etc
It’s so worth kicking all these foods and drinks thank u plus positive thinking

I never suspected onions & garlic to be offending foods. Thank you for this very informative list. Just want to share I have found that coconut oil in some people causes very bad anxiety symptoms due to the fatty chain that is sometimes hard to process in the brain. Many people don’t know about this and I find it is in a lot of foods. Just because something is natural doesn’t mean it’s healthy for all.

This video is so important to so many people! I didnt know about sweets, chocolate- and sodas being even worse. Onions and garlic are ok for me.
For me any type of red meat is a terrible trigger. Beef, pork or lamb and even salmon! But not chicken, eggs, cheese or white fish - as far as I have seen.

Sorry, with all due respect, I am skeptical about the onions and garlic. Both are high in tryptophan - precursor to serotonin. The fiber is a prebiotic that resulted in higher levels of Bifidobacterium and Lactobacillus in the gut, friendly bacteria, from a study in the American Journal of clinical nutrition.
Plus garlic wards of vampires so you have one less thing to worry about.
Would like to see your reference to learn more.

Onions and garlic are a fodmap food. For some people high fodmap foods can cause anxiety through feeding "bad" bacteria in the gut. Onion and garlic are wonderful foods but it's included to get people thinking about gut health and anxiety

I love how people are always like "hey if you have anxiety stop drinking coffee" not realizing that caffeine withdrawal can cause even worse anxiety attacks, not to mention caffeine withdrawal can last longer than 2 weeks, some people report not feeling normal for months.

I understand your point regarding caffeine Dr. Sinclair but when you suffer from anxiety/depression it's tough. Your exhausted due to these conditions & the medications you take with them that usually are sedating. The majority wake up tired, exhausted throughout the day. Is caffeine not good for depressed mood? Love to hear from you! :)

If it's perimenopause think about hormonal imbalances. Don't cut out onions unless you have gut issues. Please search my videos for information on progesterone deficiency. it will help educate you on hormones and how they can affect anxiety

    • @morgan.greene
      @morgan.greene 3 ปีที่แล้ว

No! It can cause it. I was taking a complex for months to help me with fatigue and I've been so anxious because of it. Be very careful if you take a B vitamin complex if you suffer from anxiety.

Vitamins B6, B12 and Folate are the most important for depression and anxiety, among other things. They lower homocysteine, which is known to trigger many diseases, but the research behind it is pretty recent and most doctors don't know about it. You can have your blood tested for B6, B12, Folate, and Homocysteine, to see if you have this problem.
