LACO SummerFest S3:E6 Mozart’s Piano Concerto No. 22 in E-flat major

Mozart’s Piano Concerto No. 22 in E-flat major, K. 482 was completed in December 1785 as he was approaching the height of his popularity in Vienna. The piece shares with the audience a distinctive complexity of deep insight and frivolousness within the same performance. The music of K. 482 is a rich and luxuriant conversation between the woodwind quintet and the piano that they accompany. LACO performed this piece in November 2021 at Royce Hall, with Jaime Martín Conducting and Jeffrey Kahane on piano.
