Cool but you need to understand most of the show fans are pretty sensitive. Much different than the book fans, or the minor percentage of fans that appreciate dark themes.

it was cut out that that the dude who got beheaded by daemon when he said that rhaenyras childs were bastards that he got eaten alive by syrax and that all of corlys cousins lost their toungues and got exiled
One correction that’s super important to the development of Daemon and Rhaenyra’s relationship is that when they do finally get together on the beach in the shack, it is NOT a beautiful moment. She is shown as coming off feeling ambivalent about it. It’s not special, it’s her being strategic, and the event itself reads as very blah to her. It is very importantly coded as not the fulfillment of her desires (which is how it’s staged when she was young, which fuels her whole forays with Cole and Strong and throws so much of the plot into motion.) But now it’s just blah “yep it’s a guy, and he’s doing his thing, and he doesn’t seem to even notice I’m not actually all that into it now that we’ve started.” It strongly parallels Alicent earlier spending the night with Viserys while Rhaenyra and Daemon were at the brothel. Now it’s Rhaenyra’s turn to choose duty. That’s literally the whole point of her telling Daemon that Laenor wasn’t working out. She stopped choosing to put her desires first so she could put duty first instead. Daemon, once she has him, immediately proves to not be the perfect combo of duty and desire like she dreamed it might be when she was young. Now, instead of Daemon luring her into a position that strips her of power while teasing pleasure, she’s taking the weight of the throne into her own hands but turning Daemon into a tool of duty. She took the power he held over her finally, at least she made a start of it, and made her “pleasure” about her choices and wielding her power and influence (which is what she wanted the whole time!) instead of Daemon influencing her to believe she could only be happy through affairs. She started thinking like a Queen. She faced the terrors of childbirth and realized death wears many, many faces, and being strategic is how you deal with it, not by running away. Daemon gets this same message by being criticized about poor Laena giving birth away from the maesters of her family. He ran away and he gained some ground while also losing. He’s also criticized for “running away” from the Step Stones even that that wasn’t his fault but it’s the theme with his character. He runs, he gives up power, but he makes it look like what he wants to do as a consolation prize. He taught Rhaenyra to do the same. She finally stopped but realized he wouldn’t, but she could use that. So she did. And what she got wasn’t really what she wanted because in the end he was just a man like any other and in that moment he was content to run away to old memories rather than actually tune in to what was happening with her in the present moment. He couldn’t even tell the difference in her between when she genuinely wanted him in the brothel and when she approached him on the beach. He was a man not content to live in the present moment. But he could be useful to her present moment if she had the bravery to live in it. So she did. And she saw the truth. And she swallowed the bitter pill. So it’s a seemingly small difference in how you read it visually but it has major significance in the way the show uses that scene.
Thank you so so much for pointing this out. It seems like a small detail, but in reality it is a MASSIVE point in her character. You write beautifully btw, extremely clear and concise.

Mind you i haveng read the books yet, but personally i like the change of Leana's death. I personally wished they displayed it a bit more believable in the show because how does she sneak out when Daemon the doctor and the maid being present???? They should've instead had Laena to ask Daemon to take her to Vhaegar to die by fire.
The injustice in the story is devastating. I understand that this is not real; however, after watching Game of Thrones, House of The Dragon and reading a few books, I cannot help but viscerally feel the tragedy. The Hightowers are grifters and while the Targaryens were not perfect, they made far better rulers.
tbh the fire and blood are books are supposed to be from sources with inconsistent and biased information which does mean whatever is told might not be completely accurate

Rhaenyra wouldn't have killed alicent's children if they didn't betray her! Even after she still would have let them live if they bent the knee! To me it was criston and alicent with the rest of the green council who started the war! When viserys was dying he never said aegon should be king! He said the name aegon and Prince that was promised! Alicent made what she heard what she wanted to hear!
Has anyone noticed any children from relationships not between immediate family members are being born healthy and living not the case when they are born from very close family members relation
Who's going to tell this guy that George R R Martin is greenlighting what goes through, and that the books recounting the era of "House of the Dragon" are an in universe account from someone who wasn't there, getting all his information from other people. The books come from the perspective of an unreliable narrator. You're WAY too hard on the show.
I do wish the show did angle it more toward a Brother/Son battle for the Crown. Instead it feels more like Rhaenyra against Alicent, I honestly forget at times that Aegon and Rhaenyra are even brother and sister in the show lol
I love all the comments who clearly didn’t get the joke that the show did include all the dark and horrific details of the book, and did Damon’s character justice. the opening line is quite clearly satirical 😂

He forgot to credit Chapt GPt for writing the script for the video
“It remains unhatched,” is written in the place of at least 3 spots lol that aren’t saying that😬
You're going to argue the book is better and you can't even get Criston Cole's name correct?
Perfect voice to fall asleep to.
Why are the artworks always so much better than the actors? 😢😢😢
I can't get behind the decision to make this vertical. Actually redacted.
4 hours omg, not expecting this
Amazing video🖤🖤 Keep up the great work!❤
why choose when you can have both? right? read and watch win win :D
vertical this isnt tiktok this 4 hour video why is it not horizontal
Im so glad you agree the tried to ruin Dameons character.
bro is making a living off of hating lol.
This is more of a recap of the t.v. show than a comparison
You sound like Shane the shadow lol...are you?
This is the best recap! Ready for season 2
I don't know why sexism against men is so prominent and pushed. It's disgusting
Ahh SHADDUP
Who's going to tell this guy that George R R Martin is greenlighting what goes through, and that the books recounting the era of "House of the Dragon" are an in universe account from someone who wasn't there, getting all his information from other people. The books come from the perspective of an unreliable narrator. You're WAY too hard on the show.
I do wish the show did angle it more toward a Brother/Son battle for the Crown. Instead it feels more like Rhaenyra against Alicent, I honestly forget at times that Aegon and Rhaenyra are even brother and sister in the show lol
book readers whenever people enjoy something instead of reading their dusty 1600 page hardcover wall of text:
I love all the comments who clearly didn’t get the joke that the show did include all the dark and horrific details of the book, and did Damon’s character justice. the opening line is quite clearly satirical 😂
so you doing this for season 2 right?
Interesting but so annoying that the video wasn’t full screen when horizontally viewed.
I really like how he shows the good and bad of both greens and blacks but makes it very obvious you're not supposed to be following the greens at all.
Wait, they tried to ruin Daemon’s character…so they cast Matt Smith??? How tf was that ever gonna work😂
Love the vid, but why le-nor and not lae-nor 😭😭
There’s easily 50 mispronunciations in this video…
Is the voice AI generated?
Clickbait but fire video
Excellent Excellent review! Thank you so much for breaking down the ins and outs about this show in great detail and I can follow all the details easily. Much appreciated! ❤❤❤
Olenna is truly the best character in asoiaf come on left and RIGHT hahahahahapabaahaabhabahbahabha
This was a great experience
books are always better tho
I am glad you got the recognition you deserve, been here since shingeki no kyojin theories and was sad to see low view counts.
