MATT! ! ! Make sure you sand and seal the ends of the fiberglass panels that you cut off. If not the paint will peel right off in no time bro. Looks great though, functions way better too.
Matt, that isn't dirt, that is algae. The clear pipes allow photosynthesis. I suggest covering the clear parts completely with some pipe insulation (basically a black pool noodle with a slit along its entire length). It is easy to remove to view the water levels.
I'ma roofer by trade the reason your most likely getting that crud in those pipes is cause hafe of the water your are collecting is running over the shingle roof and those shingles have fiberglass and alot of other stuff in them that is getting into. the water your collecting you should test the water. to make sure your not hurting the chickens just food for thought cause I love all your channels
The other half is that water has a lot of crud in it, especially algae, and when water sits stagnant, it grows. Especially when there's light, unlike the non-clear pipes.
Matt, please start doing inspiration at the end of your videos or every now and then, that gave me the push I needed. I look forward to watching y’all grow as a merch company, when I get my own merch one day soon I’m definitely going to come to you guys! Keep up the hard work and God bless
I wanna buy a sticker but you charge almost 3 bucks for shipping on a sticker! Put it in a regular mail envelope just for stickers and put a regular stamp on it then it'll be worth it!
3 years ago I wanted to build prosthetics, my friends laughed at me ( I was 15 at the time).. Now I'm in college for engineering graphics and have the ability to use cad to design them! You're an inspiration to everyone Matt!
15:15 so true the other day I told my friend that in the future i'll move to texas ( i'm 16y-o from quebec, canada) and he started to laugh so much but this is my goal and i'm going to do everything i can to acheive it ! You are a big source of inspiration for me. Thanks ! Continue your amazing job !
Greg Pamachena I've seen some places say that it was Gretzky's dad who said it to Wayne and Wayne quoted him. I thought I'd share since you like accuracy although this isn't 100 percent either. Grain of salt
Matt you can do the camber on the rear of the Humvee, you need to remove the shims behind the upper control arm mount, remove them all and camber will be just slightly positive unloaded. Toe will need to be re-adjusted after.
To help with rain getting in through the seams of the doors undo the three twist pins at the top of the door and unfold it and shut the door. Helps a lot and with the seams meshing in the center get a piece of plywood and put in between the frame and tarp... it works i promise
Matt, thank you for being such an amazing role model and reminder. I always set absolutely ridiculous goals, people laugh at me and call me insane. Seeing your positive attitude and your success encourages me to keep moving forward and make myself better for tomorrow than I am today than I was yesterday.
hey mat long time fan here from Canada. thank you so much for the advice about the goals and i recall from an older video some advice about doing something today to make tomorrow better. yes i know you said it in this vlog also. your so great to watch and i wish you the best this Christmas season.
Hi from ireland. Awesome video as usual Matt, each video I watch of yours makes me want to try more to have a successful life and be a vet like you, also you genuinely should write a book, you have no idea the impact you have had in my life, keep up the GREAT work. ps merry Christmas.
Hey Matt just wanted to say that I love the vids, I've been getting anxiety a lot lately and your videos calm me down and help me relax and make me happy so keep up with the great work man.
Piss on that fucking ask mere shirt. I’m a sponsor of the xxx what you had for breakfast adult calendar....I’m telling you you could fund an empire with that. People like her.... she’s your cash cow
Hey Matt, I'm I recent subscriber, but I've been watching your videos nonstop, and I just wanted to say you really inspire me and what I want to do with my life! Please keep up the great videos, and I really hope you become bigger and better than Teespring!
The shingle roof will initially absorb a lot of the very light rain, until the shingles are saturated, whereas the tin roof will shed nearly all the rain
1) Shingles are not all intrinsically waterproof. Asphalt shingles have an organic core like waste paper, cotton, linen or various other absorbent materials that are impregnated with asphalt (which can wear away and allow seepage of water into the organic core structure and cause rot), unless the roof slope is great enough (17% or greater) to allow use of fiberglass shingles (which are intrinsically waterproof) as per International Building Code. 2) There are also still wood shingles in use, though not as common, which do operate how he's talking about. Capillary action draws the water that was soaked into the shingle to the lower cut tip (wood shingles should always be cut lengthwise with the grain, not against) which then drips out and runs down the lower shingles, repeating the process until it reaches the edge of the roof. Any water that lands when the shingle is over-saturated already simply runs over the surface of the wood shingle. 3) He's still wrong to mention it here, as asphalt shingles are obviously in use, and operate differently from wooden shingles.
So Matt, everything you were talking about the goals and setting them high... you have no idea my friend I still have my goals up there waiting for me... like you said I’m doing something better today that will make tomorrow great...I know I know, not exact words but none the less. And I 100% back everything you say about that... oh and hey Matt.....Stay AWESOME YOU’RE THE BEST!
I believe that they make UV rated clear (blue) PVC pipe, super expensive though. Covering the pipe from sunlight with the pipe insulator should do the trick. Algae probably won't hurt the chickens (they eat bugs), Chlorine bleach will purify the water. Water treatment formula www.doh.wa.gov/Emergencies/BePreparedBeSafe/SevereWeatherandNaturalDisasters/WaterPurification
Matt, you are the most energetic, enthusiastic, optimistic and encouraging person on TH-cam. You seem to have it all. Meredith has her hands FULL with you but providing well for your beloved family ( and having a blast doing it ALL ) is the best of both worlds. Good luck and may God bless your future endeavors. ☺️#TEENAGERATHEART. 😉
yeah the humvee can be fixed of the leak issue reseal the windshield replace the top major concern would be the electrical could short it out so keep an eye out for that
1stump 1 It appears the joke went over your head. Considering it was a reference to the show "The Office". While the quote can be disputed in favor of his dad saying it; from my research (30 seconds on Google) the quote is typically atributed to Wayne himself and not his dad.
Put some poly filter at the beginning of the tubes, it will catch all that gunk, I use poly fill for my aquarium filters for fine filtering, just rinse it out every so often and replace as needed and super cheap! Like maybe 4 bucks for a big bag at Walmart, and will last a long time!
Don't forget Humvee's have a problem about keeping balanced in their tires. I suggest you get centramatics a continuous balancing system that goes on behind your wheels. They also extend the life of your tires too
You can waterproof the top with the same waterproof stuff for camping and as far as the alignment goes on the Humvee, talk to someone from the motor pool at the local base or retired.
As far as the camber adjustment on the HMMWV goes, it is adjustable but a huge PITA. There are shims between the upper control arms and the frame. Used to work on them back in my .mil days but we rarely fussed with them as they're a huge pain.
Hey Matt... check and see if the rear off your HUMV is a locked rear end. If it is ... it's going to howl like that no matter what, due to one wheel wanting to spin faster than the other.
it is actually due to the fact that both wheels want to have the same speed, but due to the cornering the inner wheel will have less distance to travel than the outer wheel. Therefore, the inner wheel will have to slip since it will match the speed of the outer wheel (or the outer wheel will drag but that is less likely).
Hey Matt, you could also use the scanners to coordinate the volume levels of sales to help keep you in stock. That is a system that major retailers use to keep the shelves full for yall.
Matt, pro tip for ya. Swap out the top of those clear pipes with a T connector, then cap off the top. Then you can just take off the cap and run a brush straight down. Does that make sense?
Hey Matt, this comment is exactly right... That is not dirt, it is algae and in a water system depending on the strain of algae, can potentially be dangerous as it builds up for the health of the chickens. There will be dirt and debris building up as well as it happens in most rain collection systems. Check out google or youtube for "first flush diverter". You will need a clean out for that tube, but it may also be highly beneficial to actually cover that tube, perhaps with another pipe that is solid color over it with a slit cut in the middle of it. This would greatly reduce the amount of algae but not fully eliminate
If you cut a slit in a sponge and put a powerful magnet in then glue it up.then put the sponge in one side and then put another magnet that way you can slide it back and forth to clean out the algae
You could create a store (once you get the warehouse how you want it) and call that one ranch dressing but people could go inside and buy the clothes in person. Ya kno
Is it just me or does it seem like the engine cover is supposed to be inserted under the bar from the back to the front. Kinda like inserting a chip credit card if that helps.
“Some goals are so worthy, it’s glorious even to fail.” -Capt. Manoj Kumar Pandey. Thanks Matt you’re such a great inspiration to me and probably most of your viewers, and keep up the great videos
If Apollo 8 had missed the Moon the crew would’ve landed among the stars and died a horrifying death. Also pretty sure Wayne Gretzky said that other quote about missing shots. There’s no way I’ll be as successful as Matt with this mindset..
You Two can do this because , you have already said how to do this, you bunch are already trust worthy of all of us so thank you, and make this go down
Matt, the "dirt" in the pipes is caused largely by sunlight on the water causing algae to grow. Cover the clear pipes with lagging. That way it can be removed to view the levels but blocks sunlight when in place.
I believe the clear tubes on the water collection system are growing algae or mold because it has access to moisture, air and sunlight. Perhaps spray-paint the clear tubes. That's my guess, anyway.
On the kit car, You can re-locate the charger air cooler from the top of the engine to somewhere else. Heat rises and kinda defeats the purpose of having a “cooler”
Matt for the Humvee try spraying she water repellent on the canvas areas. As for the water collection of the chicken coop the easiest way for you to fix that small issue is koi pond expanding foam. Safe for drinking water for humans and definitely safe for chickens. Also look into boiler sight glass for the water levels of the water collection system their clear tubes but easier to clean and replace if they brake.
Yo Matt, put a filter at the top of the water collection system to catch the debris from the roof. When it's not raining you can just take it out and clean it.
Hey Matt just a few ideas for your watering system. Cleaning them pipes could you not shut off the barrels and put two taps before and after the clear pipes so you can close them off then remove them and clean them. Also for freezing as you mentioned before, wouldn't some insulation tape around the pipes work? Just watch that the chickens don't eat at it and what not, all ideas of corse, I'm no plummer haha
Matt, you might be able to take a note from computer watercooling, and add a piece of silver to your chicken coop, loop. Since its a natural anti-microbial, it might help reduce some of the grime and dirt build up. Probably not all of it, but it might help for relatively cheap.
MATT! !
I have a question. How does algae get into a system like this?
amadeusz antyga the water isnt perfectly clean so algae is already there
That's what some people told him when he made the changes in the last video. Also, the UV will damage the plastic eventually as well.
it is in the air.
Good idea
I'ma roofer by trade the reason your most likely getting that crud in those pipes is cause hafe of the water your are collecting is running over the shingle roof and those shingles have fiberglass and alot of other stuff in them that is getting into. the water your collecting you should test the water. to make sure your not hurting the chickens just food for thought cause I love all your channels
Johnny Martin His roof is metal.
The other half is that water has a lot of crud in it, especially algae, and when water sits stagnant, it grows. Especially when there's light, unlike the non-clear pipes.
yeah i think you got the most logical explanation here. makes sense.
This channel is becoming my go to place for pep talks, all solid advice and I hope the demolition distribution center is a success!
Those mere's slo-mo are killing me xD
You know you love em like the rest of us
Matt, please start doing inspiration at the end of your videos or every now and then, that gave me the push I needed. I look forward to watching y’all grow as a merch company, when I get my own merch one day soon I’m definitely going to come to you guys! Keep up the hard work and God bless
Put a rain water collection system on your humvee

3 years ago I wanted to build prosthetics, my friends laughed at me ( I was 15 at the time).. Now I'm in college for engineering graphics and have the ability to use cad to design them! You're an inspiration to everyone Matt!
add some tank tabs to keep the algae down... thats algae and it will grow wherever sunlight can hit the water unless you treat the water
So Matt, real talk here, when are we going to discuss Mere's new vehicle? 😆
Agreed! I'm guessing it won't be anything short of a MAC truck as every vehicle they get seems to get more power haha
Looks like she is driving a new Escalade!
Scott W : Yeah I would like to know what kind it is, looks like a Cadillac Escalade. If so, hmmm same as Roman and Britney. Fleet deal for youtubers?
Kid Goku I have the same truck, it is an Escalade.
Welp, guess that goes to show my powers of observation 😅
You and Mere are amazing people! I love your family!
14:40 was definitely Gretzky, hahaha
Stars Fan THANK YOU! I know he isn’t into sports but he should at least get the quotes right if he’s going to use them.
It’s was Les brown.
Juan Covarrubias no it was Wayne Gretzky c'mon now

actually it was micheal scott
I love seeing Matt and Mere together, they're goals. Matts a lucky guy
Wasn’t it Wayne Gretzky who said “You miss 100% of the shots you don’t take.”?
SHAWN MCKEE went in the comments to see if anyone else noticed
No it was Michael Scott
SHAWN MCKEE it was definitely Michael Scott when he started the Michael Scott Paper Company.
SHAWN MCKEE Wasn't it Lee Harvey Oswald?
yes it was
Matt you can do the camber on the rear of the Humvee, you need to remove the shims behind the upper control arm mount, remove them all and camber will be just slightly positive unloaded. Toe will need to be re-adjusted after.

joe jacob shingles saturated, lol, roof shingles are waterproof.

what demo ranch channel ;)
I just started watching off the ranch today and now I'm subscribed with post notifications
I was wondering why you got that huge warehouse. Also, that was Wayne Gretzky who said you miss 100% of the shots you don’t take.

Bullshit, a skyline R34 GTR is far more expensive than a stuffed crust pizza
Hey Matt, you can use waterproof caulk or other sealant for the humvee windshield leak.
Looks like black or blue algae because you are letting light in clear tubing.
He could probably cover the clear pipe with pipe insulation -- just a friction fit around the pipe, he can take it off to inspect water levels.
Steven Kritzer yeah Armaflex would work has slit so it slips over .. good idea
Steven Kritzer - Agreed. I was thinking much the same thing as a potential solution.
I believe that they make UV rated clear (blue) PVC pipe, super expensive though. Covering the pipe from sunlight with the pipe insulator should do the trick. Algae probably won't hurt the chickens (they eat bugs), Chlorine bleach will purify the water.

Alex Alberda gretskys dad actually bud
1stump 1 It appears the joke went over your head. Considering it was a reference to the show "The Office". While the quote can be disputed in favor of his dad saying it; from my research (30 seconds on Google) the quote is typically atributed to Wayne himself and not his dad.

Thanks for keeping us posted on the game camera!
Scary to think something like that could happen.

Woah! 2 pro eye-rolls in one video.
Don't forget Humvee's have a problem about keeping balanced in their tires. I suggest you get centramatics a continuous balancing system that goes on behind your wheels. They also extend the life of your tires too

Matt best advice ever If mama ain't happy ain't NOBODY happy take it to heart and your life will be much happier!

As far as the camber adjustment on the HMMWV goes, it is adjustable but a huge PITA. There are shims between the upper control arms and the frame. Used to work on them back in my .mil days but we rarely fussed with them as they're a huge pain.
Why is mere babysitting Lincoln’s friend without Lincoln
Hey Matt... check and see if the rear off your HUMV is a locked rear end. If it is ... it's going to howl like that no matter what, due to one wheel wanting to spin faster than the other.

that is algae, not dirt right? Would think now that light can go through, algae will grow

Just smudging it with a sponge will not clean it out of the system, if that's what you're saying.
+ErebosGR it would work the algae isn't that smudged on
Really good advice on goal setting. I'm excited for you and your plans for the warehouse, sounds like it's going to be a fun ride
9 min after upload. 2.2K views... way to go demolitia!
I'm an engineer and you make me want better for myself. Thanks, Matt, for giving me goals!!
You could create a store (once you get the warehouse how you want it) and call that one ranch dressing but people could go inside and buy the clothes in person. Ya kno
Pheonixmann111 like the condiment?
I like Guns no. In a different video everyone wanted the merch store to be named ranch dressing. Funny pun
Pheonixmann111 but it’s a pun on the condiment
I like Guns yes and the fact that all his channels have the word ranch in it and clothes:dressing
I thought it was clever. IQ can matter with puns and sarcasm. 😉
Mere just radiates happiness. Wholesome content 👌
Is it just me or does it seem like the engine cover is supposed to be inserted under the bar from the back to the front. Kinda like inserting a chip credit card if that helps.
Yup, seemed pretty obvious to me that that's how it's supposed to be done, too, but ah well.
The bars that go from the spoiler to the frame would block that, wouldn't they?
“Some goals are so worthy, it’s glorious even to fail.”

Thanks Matt you’re such a great inspiration to me and probably most of your viewers, and keep up the great videos
Dude you got to put blue painters tape then cut with a grinder so it won't chip off... I'm a General contractor in MD
Matt! You should paint the ends of those fiberglass covers, or resin or something on the ends to seal them up
If Apollo 8 had missed the Moon the crew would’ve landed among the stars and died a horrifying death. Also pretty sure Wayne Gretzky said that other quote about missing shots.
There’s no way I’ll be as successful as Matt with this mindset..

@1:43 ish. Maybe some sort of sponge or filter right at the downspouts will help keep the pipes cleaner?
Thumbs up for dont tell mere shirts
Need a don't tell meres mom shirt now too!
You Two can do this because , you have already said how to do this, you bunch are already trust worthy of all of us so thank you, and make this go down
Holy crap,Matt's biceps are growin faster than mushrooms in the mushroom barn!!
Matt, the "dirt" in the pipes is caused largely by sunlight on the water causing algae to grow. Cover the clear pipes with lagging. That way it can be removed to view the levels but blocks sunlight when in place.
You qualified for Super Preferred Life Insurance...?......guess they don't watch Demo Ranch.
Or they do and wanted to keep him safeish and healthy
Glad to hear you're super preferred healthy Matt. Merry Christmas.
I believe the clear tubes on the water collection system are growing algae or mold because it has access to moisture, air and sunlight. Perhaps spray-paint the clear tubes. That's my guess, anyway.
Chris Adams but then that ruins the purpose of the clear tube
The entire reason he got clear tubes instead of PVC is so that he could see what the water level was. Spray painting it nullifies that purpose.
On the kit car, You can re-locate the charger air cooler from the top of the engine to somewhere else. Heat rises and kinda defeats the purpose of having a “cooler”
did mere get an escalade?

always positive matt besides the gun stuff is why i love watching your channels
So instead of #don'ttellMere this video is #don'ttellMeresMom
Get some aquarium filter floss and put over the first downspout on each drain, should catch lots of debris, just clean out after big rains.
#donttellmeremom
Yo Matt, put a filter at the top of the water collection system to catch the debris from the roof. When it's not raining you can just take it out and clean it.

Hey Matt just a few ideas for your watering system.
Cleaning them pipes could you not shut off the barrels and put two taps before and after the clear pipes so you can close them off then remove them and clean them.
