I've come from the future to tell everyone that running through this with a Tusoteuthis is completely possible. The only part of the cave too small for it is the doorway leading to the surface (about 4:27 mark of the vid). Using this method, I'd recommend bringing 2-3 tanks with you, ESPECIALLY if it's your first run. CRAZY maze! My first run almost got me killed, but made it out with less than 2 minutes remaining on my first tank. I bring 3 on every trip now, which might not work if you're on a basic Ichthy. If you're running with the squid, you don't zip through the whole thing, you take your time and just eat everything. Tons of loot and resources that way. Great vid, @Hypha! Watched this video to try and find a good rex saddle blueprint and just as I was about to head for this cave i tamed a liopleurodon. Wasn’t able to get a rex saddle and the Lio died but I was still able to get some mastercraft flak and scuba gear and ascendant theri and quetz saddles because of the 5 hour luck buff. im not a pro but an ideal dino i would take will be basiliosaurse and barionx, one can stun while other is immune to jellyfish sting and electric eel. but the fact that he said there would be mosasaur, my ideal dino dont seem anymore ideal

To anyone on console, this does still work but you have to kinda explore a bit. The first time you go to a spot where there is a loot crate it wont show up. If you explore around a bit and come back to that spot it should be there. Hope this makes sense and helps someone

A good overview of the loot that you can get from all the drops but it seems like you can get lost in the cave so it would be better in this case not to cut the video but just speed it up so people know what routes you took.
Thanks for feedback, but the cave is basically a series of straight tunnels that look identical and would have been too long and boring of a video to show it all even sped up, figured i'd show the loot table and the entrances in and out, and leave most of the exploring to you guys. good luck. Yea really is tough at first. If you want to go the full tunnel stick to the left. That will take you to a large room where you will first encounter a lot of actual baddies. I'm in the process of sketching mapping out the cave on paper. For some of the other maps people made maps you can download. Couldn't find for this one. Oh also a tip I saw some place else. I carry stone foundations with me. When I find a chest I drop a foundation close to it as a marker. Helps you know where to look on the next pass.

Just managed to grab myself a Basilosaurus and went for my first run into that cave, Managed to pick up and ascended Yuty saddle blueprint and a bunch of mastercraft blueprints for other stuff.
I made a small army like this. A few Sarcos and Baryonyx (for crowd control). Problem you will find though is they will get easily torpor'ed out. If you even go down to the ground where the snails and sea scorpions are. You can bring a stack of 100+ stimulants and that will help pull them pull out of it if stuck (feed it to them from their inventory like usual), but still a lot of down time and it's a hassle. Also if it's you and the jellyfish touch you, you are probably stun-locked to death. The first thing your armor/air will disappear (I usually carry at least 4 scuba chests still) and if your tame dies, good luck getting out. It's a little slow but IMHO the Basilosaurus is the best for the main mount. It doesn't get torpor'ed nor shocked and gives you all the temperature resistance you need. I pump up stamina so I can sprint most of the time, and since I can fight with it always getting fish to feed it. Sure it doesn't like low sea depths but in this cave there are only a few low spots. And in a lot of them you can just go up to the ceiling of the cave and regenerate on low HP (rarely happens). Also I haven't found a regular Mosasaurus that a single Basil can't kill also. Barely makes a dent in the Basil's HP, just got to keep chomping as it takes a while to kill. Still if you get swarmed with too many mantas, eels, anglers, etc., your Bails HP will drop like a rock. Hence you still want your own personal army. My next experiment will try other water tames that have Torpor immunity. Maybe just tame 3 or more Basils even. Not a speed run, but major survivability and you can farm the snails and scorpions for black pearl, etc., while you are at it.
@@joeneighbor You don't go to that cave to fight, you go to grab loot and leave. If they are close too close to the drops, use the dolphin's speed to aggro them away from the spot, come back and move to next drop. You're killing everything unnecessarily and that's why you need 4 tanks when one is enough
@@Solutho Yea that is the way I do it now ("speed run"). Except I prefer a Sarco since they are tougher, full stamina resets in seconds, they tend to have higher native carry weight, they are amphibious, are all over the map, and are easy to tame . Take the absolute minimal stuff, only need one or two scuba chests (at least one for backup). If you screw up, or otherwise get caught in a group of Jellyfish, no big deal. Death recovery if optional. You only want to do the slow personal army way if you want to farm the toxin from the Jellyfish, or black pearls, oil, from the sea scorpions, etc. Which even then maybe there might be better/easier ways to farm some of these things. The Basilosaurus experiment was mostly a failure. The AI for them is dumb as a rock. They have a high turning radius so apparently the AI gives up on pathing and ends up sitting there stuck at the bottom of the cave stupidly taking damage. A Basils army might still work in larger open water cases, just not in cave spaces.. An Alpha Mosasaurus that usually is stuck into a wall in a more dangerous part of the cave decided to come out and ended up killing them all (all three Basils) after my experiment was done anyhow :-/ After making so many runs, I got the pattern of the cave down. You can actually avoid most of the more dangerous sides and just do the rounds in like 15min or so (still testing) of the other less dangerous areas as some of the chests might have respawned in that time already. Have fun!
@@joeneighbor oh yeah, dolphins are made of glass. I've never found any use for sarcos, maybe I'll give them a try. I don't think there's a timer on the drops, they seem to work the same way as valguero underwater drops, as in you despawn one drop and another appears at another location. Every run when I swim back to the start, some drops are there again. Sometimes in like 2 minutes.

Wasn't in the cave yet, but tried to get loot drop in south west and faced 2 alpha megalodon 135 and 140. Baryonx is so op. U just stun them and ur basilo, sarco do the rest xD
i went into this tunnel before watching the vid and found some decent bps, but for some reason the night night scorpions LOVE to camp every drop spawn. i cant get off my tame without falling asleep and getting shocked to death

@@markarmstrong9171 the honeybees cave in the redwoods, toward the center of the cave is a small pond. If you jump in that pond and swim down and to the right you can follow that cave all the way to the ocean. Thats how I got the Artifact of the Lost that he mentioned. Only reason I know it was the same cave.

Basi is prob the best and safest, it can fit through the entire cave. Just a bit slow is all, just level one with speed and your set.

hey thanks, that cave should also spawn red crates just not as often, from what i can tell the re-spawn is very fast so you can just keep running it.

Sarcos are even better to bring down there they regenerate Stam crazy fast and if you breed them you get the extra movement speed

they should respawn pretty quickly, singleplayer can sometimes have some issues just gotta keep checking, good luck.
Can I Ask Why The Dolphin?

I'd use a shark over an icthy, sure a shark is slower, but it can fight if you need to, but that's my opinion.

Smh I got good lot but couldn’t find my way out then got eaten by anglers after I ran out of stam
damn hate to see it, just keep trying it you'll learn the cave in no time, just like with most things in ark always be prepared for anything. If going without a tame be sure to bring a wooden chair to sit on to regain stam. Laz chowder would help too. Good luck.
BEETS Thanks. I haven’t fully learned the game but I mine wiped and went with more stam and oxy and got a few good things.
@@elikoffman4344 or just take 3 tanks and a chair with u, when ur low stam you can place the chair underwater and regain stam when sitting on it, after you regained stam just pick it up
There some part of the cave you better go with a strong or fast dino but most of cave can be done with scuba set.

Yeah buff is good if ya pull it off i mentioned that in my second video outlining the entire run and each drop location. Figured most ppl wont get buff so wanted to show the loot without buff.
