- My wife bought this weed eater for me and I really like it! It’s a professional grade trimmer and is built to last. The trimmer head can be replaced with saw blade style heads for cutting brush as well.

I used to work for a profesional landscaping company and i can tell stihl is the best.
Great video and test of the trimmer. The reason it’s so quiet is it’s actual a four stroke but still uses fuel/oil mix. Lots easy to work on and more reliable too.

I bought my first Stihl weed eater I bought a Stihl fs56 RC string trimmer it's a nice tool to use for my business and for my own yards

I've been using one for about 6 years now and just bought a backup. I've owned a few comparable echo trimmers but always grab the 91r

The piece of plain metal and the tool you said was for the carb are for changing the head from string to a blade , i just found that out today

(Love mine) 91R kombi system had 5 years with 6 attachments still runs great. Use alittle mechanic in a bottle to keep carb clean. Get a Darwin grip will save your back!!! Stihl makes a speed feed head nice!!!

Stihl is the best that makes weed whackers, leaf blowers, edgers, brush cutters, and hedge trimmers. Nothing runs like a Stihl.

I can see you are vertically gifted (taller than 5"10'). 15 minutes hunched over running that weed eater and tomorrow you'll surely know it. the darwin's grip is designed to get your back straight whilst running that tool and others similar.
That’s the only problem I have with it LOL! It doesn’t take very long at all to start feeling it.

No way, that’s cool! It’s possible, most of our family is in the hills of SE Kentucky.
It's getting to be that time of year, I bought a new one for the year and went with this model as well. Just break engine in around half throttle for first three tanks of fuel. Last new one I bought fs90r broke in well and has been flawless ever since bought in 2010.

There’s no point in breaking these motors in as they already have been tested and ran from factory during EPA and emission testing. Just fill it with fresh mixed fuel hold it wide and get to cutting.
That little metal bar is to hold the head so you can unscrew it and ether replace it or put a brush saw on

I love this trimmer but hate the “maintenance” it requires. The “valve adjustment “ really sucks. I’m going to buy the echo 2620T as a back up for whenever I have to take it in every 6-8 months for the “valve adjustment “.
Or just do it yourself, doesn’t have to be perfect. Just make sure it’s in top dead center (arrow on the flywheel) and tighten slightly.

The gas tank says for 2 cycle engines, theres no problem if still use it in the Fs91r 4 cycle?
Yeah it’s considered a 4 mix system, no oil pump. It still requires 50:1 mix.

I have the same one. Does the handle on yours get a lot of vibration? It’s not excessive but I wasn’t sure if you really don’t have any all or a slight amount. Other than that, mine has been a great powerful machine.
Hmmmm, I haven’t noticed a vibration but that doesn’t mean anything lol. I’m used to the cheap Walmart specials that work for 1 or 2 season and get tossed.
I have seen people on the internet complaining about the 4-mix engine that it's on/off on the throttle. I wouldn't agree. It indeed goes high in the revs almost immediately but there really is a big difference in the power output when using more or less throttle. It uses very little fuel, is low on noise and has a very clean burn. I love this machine.
I totally agree with you, it is a great machine!
It has a tonne of torque even on low RPM. No issues with keeping it at low RPM.
What is a good type of fuel to put in? I’m new to it and I’m soon going to start the business!
It takes regular 50:1 gas oil mix. I use the premix stuff from the store. It’s ethanol free and lasts a long time so you don’t have to worry about problems from sitting over the winter.

It’s called a 4 mix system, it’s technically not a 4 stroke. It still requires gas/oil mix.

Yes it is, you definitely don’t want ethanol in any small engines. It creates all sorts of headaches.

You really should read the owners manual.
I am 6 one and not sure how tall you are but I do not like the fact that you look you are bent over a bit while using it . Seems that would get uncomfortable after a while .
That’s pretty much my only complaint. I’m 6-2ish and it gets tiring fairly quick. But that’s been the case with every weed whacker I’ve ever owned. :-/

slide the strap bracket back to the handle then slide that sleeve back against the bracket then slide the loop handle back against the sleeve problem solved

That is a 4 cycle you should probably read the owners manual before using things obviously won’t hurt anything by putting 2 stroke in a 4stroke but just thought I’d inform you
Thanks! From what I’ve read Stihl requires a 50:1 gas oil mix even though it’s a 4 stroke. It’s called a 4 mix system, it uses 2 cycle oil mix and don’t have an oil pump. It’s pretty cool actually!
It is not a 4cycle engine. It is a four mix engine that requires two stroke oil. Stihl quit using the term four mix because dumbasses like yourself, that don’t read the manual.
Speaking of manual. Page 27 of the FS91, 91R manual under “Fuel”
“This engine is certified to operate on unleaded gasoline and the stihl two-stroke engine oil at a mix ratio of 50:1. Your engine requires a mixture of high quality gasoline and two-stroke air cooled engine oil.”
@@Freakingstang It is a four stroke engine. It has valves. Look in the user manual for valve maintenance. 2 stokes dont have valves. I can tell just by the sound. 2 stoke vs 4 stroke is used to describe the number of turns the crank makes between ignition to ignition. The 2 stroke mixture is for lubrication and cooling. Has nothing to do with number of strokes.

it's a hybrid 2/4 stroke engine still requires the gas to be mixed

that little rod is the lockin pin ya stick that in the gear head which locks the string head in place so you can swap in a blade or back to the string head

you have a really nice brush cutter to just cut 4 inch tall grass around your house.. Get out and find some actual tall weeds.
Lol it works great. That was in the dead of winter so there wasn’t much growing. It works great!
