    Great comparison. I already put money down and picking up my 23' Superjet 6-18-24. Your video helped confirm my decision. It was hard to turn down the HP of the SX-R, but I chose the Superjet . It just felt like the better choice to just go out and have some fun,. I'm in my 50's so I hope the lighter weight will be easier to maneuver and for me to reconnect and my teenage kids to learn on.

      Appreciate it and Heck yah!! Superjet is a great well rounded ski. Dont think you will feel anything missing power wise! The learner mod is to keep speed demons under control lol other than that i find that it’s easier to learn in full power mode. As power is your friend when you start to loose it! Pretty much just used learner mode for the break in ride. Congrats on the new ski! And happy father’s day!🤘🏼😎 looking forward to hear how you guys like it!!

      I just rode one this weekend after 30+ years of not riding a stand up. It wasnt as easy as when i was in my teens or early 20's, lol. Im 53 and out of shape and it didnt take me but a few minutes to realize this fact. The new skis arent even comparable to the old ones in terms of power. Its crazy how much power these have. I think once i get used to it and get in better shape its going to be a blast. Good luck.

    It is simple, SXR is the clear winner. The Yamaha is not good at anything, it is not really a good play / trick ski, it does not carve overly well and it has a cheesy feeling quality about it.
    Buy a SXR for your missions and get a separate older play ski.

      @@Sharpshooter-123 all depends wht your desires are but basing off my dad who is in his 60s, a larger guy 6’6” and just under 300lbs he prefers the Kawasaki SX-R 1500 as its easier for him to get on. The tr-1 superjet is alot more difficult for him to get on as the rear doesnt have a tendency to sink down much. Experience is alot to factor in too. Stand up jetskis are a blast but have a huge learning curve. What are your desires for the ski and do you have previous experience?

      @@Floatsorrolls1 do you know any skis that a teen could use because I can’t find any except for the richters and those are like 20k and I don’t want to pay for that

    • @Floatsorrolls1
      @Floatsorrolls1  หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@Sharpshooter-123 the TR-1 Superjet and Kawi SX-R are very different ski and rickter is even more extremely different. If you are not a mechanic or mechanical I would stick to 4 stroke skis they are significantly more reliable. Tht leads you back to the pretty much the TR-1 and the SX-R for the around $10k dollar range give or take a couple grand. If you wanna do tricks and jump waves the tr-1 is way to go if you wanna go fast and carve SX-R is your bet. Both skis are great but serve different styles. Neither ski you master in your first time out, first couple times out or even more likely your first season. Typically riders can stand and do basic maneuvers after the first ride or two but takes a while to get comfortable but tht is part of what makes them so cool the learn curve is continuous. Ive been riding for 10 years and still get better each time out. Facebook Marketplace is a great place to look for used skis in ur area the tr-1 superjet seems to hold value slightly better than the sxr so expect to pay more for a used superjet than a sxr but like I said it all depends on wht your desires are for the ski. Dont expect to do a backflip on a 4 stroke ski lol.

    I'm in the 250lb range and the Kawi appeals more to me. I like yamaha as a brand more than any other, but I'm not a fan of the looks of the new SJ.

    • @Floatsorrolls1
      @Floatsorrolls1  22 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I love the looks of the new superjet! Lol they are both extremely great skis and honestly less reports of minor issues on the kawi as of recent. The superjets have been reporting some minor cosmetic defects in the finish. Mine has not been a issue but worth mentioning. The kawis I have seen no issues as of recent. The kawi is bigger guy friendly and is my dad’s choice of the two 4 stroke stand-ups. The superejet is more difficult to mount as a heavy rider since its extremely buoyant in the rear and doesn’t sink down its slightly higher lift in the back of the superjet makes it nearly impossible for my dad to mount the ski. He has little to no issue mounting the sxr. Both are fantastic skis but the for larger riders the SXR does seem to be a more popular option. 😎🤘🏼

    I think they get compared because they're both standups, and while that's fair per se, its not really fair to both of them. I feel like the SXR is the cheapest race ski on the market (when you compare them to a GP1) whereas the SJ is something you'd buy for the family at the lake over maybe a Spark Trixx. Its like comparing RXPX and a Yamaha EX because they're both couches. I know what I'd choose, because I put a deposit on it.

    Riding a 2013 701SJ since 2013, never a problem in any way and my favorite thing on the water. Had an SX-R 4 stroke the first year they came out and the thing is a beast. I felt like it was an unpredictable ride and absolutely cannot jump. Not nimble. Only kept it a year. Got a new 2024 SJ this spring and do like it and will keep it but now know for me nothing will beat my 2013 701.

    Can Yamaha Superjet and Kawasaki SX-R 1500 do a backflip??

    • @Floatsorrolls1
      @Floatsorrolls1  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      With a big enough wave anything can do a backflip lol jk don’t believe I’ve seen anyone backflip a sxr1500. Its pretty much impossible unless you had giant ocean wave and the worlds biggest balls 😂 the tr-1 would be a big enough challenge but has been done before. Our 701 superjets are most capable of doing a backflip though still a great feet to accomplish. Most guys doing flips have dedicated tricks skis that are half the size of our 701 superjet and almost double the power. There is no way of doing flips on anything but a trick ski without a gigantic wave. The thrust on the tricks skis as well as the trim nozzle allows them to launch into the air with little to no wake. It would still require a trim nozzle and other mods to make it reasonably feasible on any stock ski. Id love to have a trick ski but you’re talking big money for the flat water backflip ski. If you bought a trick ski off the shelf they’re like $35-45k. building one urself still costs about 20k for a used haul and fresh wicked dasa motor.

    Which one is more reliable?

    • @Floatsorrolls1
      @Floatsorrolls1  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Both are fantastic skis! Have had the sxr 1500 for over 4 years and it’s been flawless. We had the superjet for over a year and it’s been flawless. I will note a few owners of the superjet have reported some cosmetic cracking of the engine bay near the engine mounts or on the exterior( we have NOT experienced this issue) also the sxr-1500 earlier ones had some reports of fuel pumps fails (we have NOT experienced this issue either) neither of these know issues have been issues on a large scale but worthy of noting of things to check if you are looking used or new. I have 100% confidence in either ski to go long distance and have no concern of failure. That of which cannot be said for our 2014 yamaha superjets lol. Those 2smokes are heck alot of fun but man can they require maintenance. The new 4 stroke skis are extremely reliable compared to the old ones. Just oil changes and thats all we have done in terms of maintenance.

      Sky is the limit on stand up jetskis lol. They make $40k trick skis tht are full carbon but you can definitely find SXR 1500 used for less than 10k. Superjets seems to be slightly more on the used market at right around $10-11k. Highly recommend getting a ski tht is only seen fresh water if you go used 😎🤘🏼 4 stroke is way less maintenance, simple and cheaper to have and own over the long run. A price well worth the money in my opinion. My favorite hobby, get as crazy as you want and way less likely to get hurt compared to other hobbies we do like motorcycles and quads.
