I did not know he was not joking when it comes to fiction-reality EAS Scenarios that are based on true stories.
Fun fact:
1) The United Kingdom and Canada participated in the Manhattan Project, as Canada was a source of Hydrogen and Uranium; and the UK had advancements in Tube Alloy [Gaseous Diffusion].
2) Louis Slotin [1 December 1910 - 30 May 1946; Winnipeg, Canada] took part in the MH Project, and studied both Plutonium and Uranium cores to determine their mass values.
He died in 1946 after discovering the "Demon Core" [a fission reaction of Beryllium, Plutonium and a Screwdriver which released a burst of hard radiation].
