These are great tips. I have been baking and decorating for many years. I also tell people that decorating is like hand writing especially working with buttercream. It won't be exactly like a picture but very very close.

I heard some other videos talk about a color wheel they have their clients print out...
So my first thought was if a day can make a difference in the color of buttercream, what would old ink or a printer ink running out, how would that change?
I was thinking going to like Lowe's or home Depot, and getting the paint clips, the paper sticks of the different shades, and if not able to meet in person have them pick up some to compare to the flowers or decorations, so there is a more clear and accurate shade to compare to. Or is that too much lol

I currently work for an Italian restaurant, the owner doesn't like sweet stuff. She keeps asking me how to make a cream cheese frosting but not Sweet.
All I keep thinking is well it's a lot like buttercream frosting and calls for a lot of powdered sugar...
It makes it more stable, easier to set up a hold a shape... If you use less sugar it won't be the same. Would it?
Is it possible to make something less sweet? Like buttercream? Cream cheese frosting? Cake itself?
Cooking is like chemistry. Every ingredient has purpose, some ingredients have more than one purpose like sugar and powder sugar. Sugar in a cookie, makes it sweet and crisp, too much too little changes the whole cookie, from the level of sweetness, to the texture of the cookies. Powder sugar in a frosting is the sweetness and stability of the frosting. Too much too little, can be the difference between taste, sweetness level, whether or not it can be pipped, or not or if it would hold a shape.
So is it possible? To make anything was sweet?

One of my last cakes was “frozen” and the costumer wasn’t sure what shade and brightness they want so I guess i made it a little too bright, but.. they didn’t give me any details!

I haven't done a frozen theme yet, but I have done Monster's Inc. twice! The shades of blue as she says is crazy as to how many there are. For Monster's Inc I actually also done all the decorations as well. The shades of blue were different from store to store. I Made 2 - 4' tall Sully's, with the Crepe Paper hair. And obviously had no clue what I was doing when I did this, because it seemed I never had enough and had to keep going back for more. As I live in a tiny Town, I had to go 20 miles down the road to the next towns over to buy supplies. And found that the Crepe Paper from Dollar Tree was slightly different from Walmart and Dollar General. After many returns, I stuck to only buying it from the same store to keep the shade the same all the way through. When I went to make the cake, I tried to match it to the decorations, which I got close, really close, but the plates n party supplies I ordered online, were all different from each other, and as it turned out, not the same as my homemade decorations and cake. The shades are so different.
Also, with butter cream, the shades will get darker. So if having to stick to a perfect color match you need to make a couple days ahead of time and let sit, and change as needed.
Frozen is basically, blues n whites.... But the different shades makes a world of difference. You would want different levels of the same color shade, for shadowing to give depth and make stuff pop. But I would think it would be easier to just air brush the cake.
I am sure it was a beautiful cake. But not sure I would want to have to try that cake lol

@@SweetDreamsBakeShoppe I’m a home baker. I was attempting to learn how to decorate cookies. I was having trouble finding supplies. So I’d like to open a store that has supplies available. Then thought about adding cookie dough (Kim’s Dough2go) baked items and coffee. I’d also like to have a big enough space for after COVID (ha ha ha) have children’s birthday parties the children would get a cookie kit to decorate. Or baking classes from bread making to pie crust.
Sorry this was so long. Big dreams lol
