It's an unexpected brilliant map by giants. Beautiful and elegant. Just really surprised that it's a giants map considering the first 3 maps.
Definitely the same issue on PS5, wont download. Tried downloading to my console from the PSN store, but still nothing. Hope this gets fixed!!!! Very frustrating!
That old bus looks like an easter egg from "Into the wild"
Fantastic video, I have always avoided logging due to the tedium of constantly picking up logs with a crane that I am no good at. This will make me try again with the production chains and being able to build things on the map and also other possibilities of different ways of transporting logs. The detail here makes Giants on a par with the best Mod map makers I think hopefully they keep it up. Thank you as well for not spoiling where the collectables are as I like to find them on my own.
Use an autoload logging trailer. It will save your sanity.

Never done any logging on FS, so when the DLC became available yesterday afternoon, I had a good go at it...anyway still at it, threw a sick day for work 😂 Its got me well and truly hooked on logging.
I can’t wait to see your let’s play on this map and to see where you go with it. It looks a really exciting map.

This is far and away the best map GIANTS have made to date, they've been getting progressively better especially with the likes of Elmcreek but this is a significant qualitative leap forwards I think! It also looks like they really hit the mark for a pioneer map too, definitely leaning towards forestry but still with plenty of viable land for clearing trees with the aim of building a farm!
After watching the Dev stream with Horia and Evgeniy showing off some of the "water features" and the development process, I knew it was going to be a beautiful map but even so wasn't expect it to be this breathtaking in places and so natural feeling. Like it's literally based off a real town you could visit, it's not but they've done a fantastic job making it feel like it is!

That bus looks just like the one from the film Into The Wild about Chris McCandless aka Alexander Supertramp. Brilliant film if you haven't seen it.

I think this may be their best map to date. They've put a lot of work into it, and it shows.

That sawmill office where you can buy the long planks and prefab walls, when you buy them, they appear in the back storage area where the forklift was at and you get them from the warehouse and load them on your trailer out the bay door. I thought that was pretty cool

Lovely map! The winch on the front of the base game JD gator also works.
Kind of reminds me of Sisters Oregon, I like those kinds of towns that require any new buildings to be built in a late 1800's style.

I can download the ps4 version but it won't download on the ps5 version I don't get it or understand I want to play it on the ps5 version it's keeps saying something went wrong
@@majesticbear7687 I've just seen giants put a post out, known issue downloading on ps5 and they're looking into it.
Thank you. I emailed giants they actually replied fairly quick telling me the same thing. Let's hope they resolve this issue soon.

The map looks amazing, I knew it was going to be good from screenshots. I’m going to give logging a go but we’ll see. Maybe in 5 years I’ll have built a rollercoaster.
I've always watched your vid's as I know everything you show are things I cab try as I'm on ps5. One thing I'd love on map reviews is if I can pick my own sleep point with a house and a flat area to build my own farm
So one thing I noticed, you can't tab to the map vehicles using your d-pad by default but if you reset the vehicle you can.

Love your Video mr Sealyp You mentioned a frontier town if you google my hometown of Haliburton Ont Can,. where I lived for many years. you will see some of the buildings look just like this map. in fact, we used to have 3 sawmills on head lake as you come into Haliburton. My father's old store is 3 from the right if you are at the stop lights. It was built in the 40's and is now a knitting store. Now I am home sick. Thanks for the video great job as usual.
I was not a fan of logging but wow I am now I love this map I just got it and love the new vehicles I am excited to keep playing

Not that it does console players any good, but I am imagining this in a 4x map with this portion centered on the top with the majority of the new map space to the south with farmland. An animal dealer, maybe some preset animal areas and a bunch of medium to large fields across the river. It would be so awesome...I spent the majority of my time in FS22 so far on Bauer Brown's 4x Elmcreek extended and I can't compliment that map enough. It has been an awesome experience.
Stevie also has a nice Elm Creek 4x. 😊 This map in 4x would be awesome. 🎉
The bus looks like it's a reference to the movie "Into to Wild." It's a true story of a Christopher McCandless who went to Alaska, to live in solitude, in the wild. His story has a tragic ending, but a tale of enduring struggles associated with that life. A great movie, and book, if your interested in that. He found that bus in the woods and lived in it.
The 3 Volvo wheel loaders truly look amazing.
I love the map I just wish you didn’t have to use the new planter to have access to the new trees. Using the excavator to plant is a pain in the neck, Giants have made many improvements to forestry with the platinum expansion but why couldn’t they update the base pallet of saplings to have the new trees.
Modders will probably find a way to do it. 😊

This is an absolutely beautiful map and thanks for the great review as always. I got really exited and tried it out straight away and that's when the slap came. I love painting extra roads and so on and this map comes with barely any paintable textures. There isn't even a simple dirt texture. I really hope they will ad some more. By the way does anyone know of a paintable textures mod for the ps5 as I always end up playing Alien Jim's maps that are absolutely great and I love them but they tend to be quite flat.
In the states some fire departments have been known use woosd chips to burn . creates great smoke conditions in training structures.
I’d like to see you do a video, on the all the production chains.

Yes in the Usa the redwoods are a protected tree today unlike many many years ago It was said one redwood tree was enough wood to build and entire wood frame of a house or a lot of house's
I love all the new additions they've made with this game, and can't wait to get into it tonight... but I think that letting players create new roads and bridges would have been considerably better, especially on this map. I guess we somewhat can with the editor but doing so with machinery would be amazing! Hopefully with the next installment, mining as well. But most importantly the husbandry could really use an overhaul. Excellent map review as usual

guess u guys missed my point. I love all the aspects of farming, and Giants is clearly trying to expand. Im just saying, they updated logging and logistics as far as they did with the expansion... Well clearing new roads up a mountain to cut/transport the trees is probably the most important part. Plus its already possible on PC so not too far fetched. I'd also rather use the logs to build a bridge than a roller-coaster, missed opportunity there! Either way I love the game and just giving my honest opinion.. Happy Farming!

But logging is farming, you plant and harvest something. 😃 All the things you named could be a fun extra, but I rather would like see Giants make this an actually simulator like it says in the game’s title. Seasons is a very light version with no bale rotting, grass drying in the sun, basic animal feeding, no planting outside de predefined growth calendar, no crop germination, no crop rotation, etc… More decent extra crops and animals would be nice, gps, manure system, … Nothing off that is base game after all these years. Modders mostly do a better job then Giants. This dlc is the first time Giants managed to impress me. 😉

As someone who lives in a tiny Pacific Northwest frontier logging town, I really like how much this map feels like my own home.
MrSealy. You like to do contracts as do I. Maybe leave the 3 fields for contracts and just create your own for farming.
At least that way you get the new forestry contracts and the contracts from the 3 fields to tide you over.

The (new/southern) sawmill is broken in the release version. The door is always closed and there is no way to open them to access store trigger or the warehouse.

the new update that makes the tree light up and push the button to auto line up the cutter head makes forestry way better than it was before, as i could never make it line up correctly
Is it only a specific harvester that can do that? I've been playing and haven't had the tree light up nor do I have any button to auto line up the cutter head. I'm using the Harvester they give on new farmer (on PS4)

I’m having trouble downloading the expansion on PS5. I keep getting an error CE-107880-4. I’ve been seeing that a lot of PlayStation users are having this issue. Any idea on how to fix it?

I have been messing around with logging since they announced that this was going to be a update to get ready for it
Can anyone help me out on this, is there any way to drop trees without running them through the head with the dangle head cutters? The new feller buncher is great, but there’s a lot of trees that are too big. Thank you to anyone who can help
I have a ps5 and I can't get it to download either
The first thing I did was a deadwood contract when I got into this map last night. They say you can sell the deadwood after you've cut it down, except you get $1 for each load🤣 hopefully when you finish the contract the cut trees disappear because it's a lot of work picking the dead trees up for no return.
It's even worse; after you complete the contract the dead trees respawn back in place! It's like you were never there...
update. yes! we finally got the update and able to download the dlc! Yay! what a lovely map and talk about massive! and really love it. thank you #giants and #sony for working so diligently into making this work! we're one happy campers/loggers now! and learning to play at loggings 😜. And boy oh boy, is this a learn curve! thank you, P!
Can you unload trailerloads of logs into the millpond?And if so,where do I unload it at?

Why at the bottom right of the map does it show a symbol for elmcreek? If we have both maps on saves can we go between both?
Yes it’s the best map I’ve ever played on so much to do as well even if u don’t do logging you should give it a go on silverrun giant have smashed it out the park by 100 miles so much detail
I bought the dlc this morning but I couldn't get it to download any suggestions why this happened would be appreciated and yes it is a p.s.5
The town is modelled after the Yukon in Northern Canada
It looks good, but the Steam forums say it's a standard Giants release. Forwarders dropping logs, contracts are borked for the deadwood removal, the Volvo trucks can't turn when you put weight on them... They still can't seem to fix the physics for something as simple as the Mahindra side by side.
Got the map a day early but still looking forward to watching a good old MrSealyp map tour.

If you are on ps5, I would wait. Will not download for a majority of users. Might take 4-5 months to fix like Claas bonus DLC.

Ok I do like the iron addition to the game and it has got me thinking. There is a mod of a debris crusher that turns rocks into lime, it wouldn't be hard to code it different to make it produce gold ore and then send it to a furnace to make gold bars. Just saying, and yes I know this is farming simulator not mining simulator. We all have hobbies aside from our profession, even farmers have hobbies.

well seems like everyone is downloading the "update" patch....my eta to be finished is 3 days...woohoo!!! The expansion pack is installed...should have done like you...waited until 12am 11/15.....ha!! I must say your explanations and mod reviews are much better than the others...

Im not one for logging but ill give it ago for now as a knew map. Bit disappointed in the cables seem a bit low 🔅 n strength i guess someone will make a better mod as well as id of thought they'd be great for pulling your self out bit trouble and heavier logs. Thanks 👍

Hoped they would have fixed the horrible physics of the log grabbers, sadly they haven't.
Still quite enjoyable, especially with a mod like lumberjack to pick up entire trees and load them on trailers, and/or an autoload log trailer.

You can cut down and sell the sequoias but it’s not worth it. You get squat for selling or liters in your own production
Great map ( but )….. has anyone also had issues with the Grapples open and close functions that stop working? Mine will work for a while then one side may stop working and others they stop completely. Driving me crazy because the crane looks great! I even tried on other maps and the same issue. I also have had issues with game crashing… on ps4 system. The yarder is great once you figure out how to use it by the way, to bad the redwoods don’t pay better. I get they don’t want you cutting them down but…. Oh and not all saws work on the red woods.

Hey you know the bus that you can get on silver run looks remarkably like the same bus from that documentary into the wild where that kid traveled to Alaska and then sadly starved to death but while he was living in Alaska he was living in a bus and it looks exactly like the one he was staying in I do not think it's coincidence I went and looked at some real pictures of the real bus and there are too many similarities I am convinced this is the bus from into the wild.
