    I'm a simple man, I hear Thomas Erak's work, I like.

    Good job covering one of the most difficult / detailed guitar songs ever written. One of my all time favourites, a song i'm too afraid to even attempt learning, even after 23 years of playing.

    Great job! This is so tight and locked in with the recording. It's very hard to get something like this that close in one take, especially a song this technical AND long. I applaud you! You got a sub

      Thanks so much dude, really appreciate this comment! Yeah this one took a lot of takes just because it's so long and all over the place. I had a few extra clicks to help with some of the cues along the way though.

      @@beatsandbosons just saw this lol I don’t have notifications on for TH-cam since I don’t normally comment
      But hey nothing wrong for section based clicks for cues. The band I’m in has a lot of visual cues or sections that end or begin different on each play through based on feel. Whenever I record guitar on those parts, I have to put clicks for those cues.

    So dope. I never saw Fall of Troy live, but there's like no way it sounded this good with him singing on top the songs too right? It just seems so complex, either you want to play it right, or just generalize it and sing over it, pulling off both just seems mind melting.

    • @beatsandbosons

      He's a little sloppier playing but it's still phenomenal.

    • @beatsandbosons
      @beatsandbosons  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@cubeincubes thanks dude! Pinch harmonics are a pain until it just clicks. All I can say is play around, there's a couple of different techniques but where you hit the string can matter.
      The tab books are great, I've been using them religiously.
      I made a custom amp on garageband after years of experimenting, I've never thought it was that great so appreciate the comment! Maybe I can do a rig rundown at some point, I'm overdue one.

  • @StreetForged
    @StreetForged 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

    This is a ridiculous request but I have the tab book for this and have been working on it a bit again and was wondering if you would be willing to help break down some of these riffs in slower time on video?
    A handful of the quick little licks are really hard to break down listening at full speed, TH-cams speed function is rudimentary, and I don't have software to use the email file from sheethappens to slow it down in midi.
    All good either way, just figure you do great on these covers and work off the same tabs

    • @beatsandbosons
      @beatsandbosons  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Haha yeah big ask! I'm knee deep in learning some CHON atm.
      All I can advise is to play them at 50% speed real tight and slowly speed up. It's a slog, but that's how u learned these.
      It's unlikely I'll have the time to revisit these tracks.
      Whatever fingerings feel comfortable to you is likely the best way to play it.

    • @StreetForged
      @StreetForged 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@beatsandbosons oh yeah I mean I am learning the riffs for the most part, it's more so that I can't make out the timing properly on some of the 2 second fills and it feels like the tab sometimes adds extra open strings that I'm not hearing.
      Slowing down the song on TH-cam makes it all artifacted and hard to hear so it's been a battle of listening to the riffs at full speed and trying to play the tab slower, but playing it slowly in time with no audio frame of reference is pretty difficult for this song because half of it barely even sounds like music if you play it at half speed lol.
      Youve been picking bangers for songs since I started watching a while back. Would be cool to see a novelists fr cover like Antares. Tons of fun to play, seemingly up your alley in terms of skill level and genre preference

      @@beatsandbosons here's an update for you, I had to contact sheet happens because my old downloads got deleted but they solved it super fast and I can now use the computer and actually listen to this crap in midi.
