You guys should ignore the haters. What you are doing with dance and cooperation is wonderful! and besides that...you are good! I have seen shows of all types and yours is good. And about doin', Drag is a valid style of theater. I have seen many drag shows and the entertainers have much talent as do all of you.I wish you all well in your futures. Keep dancing, it is good for the soul! :)
they sure did an amazing job and zombie act was superb it seemed so actual and according to the need of the song .....Micheal is not dead hes still there alive in our hearts because legends like him never die...! ...R.I.P mike..........! .....we love you
nice naman...pinatutunayan lang nito na nilagay cla ni God sa jail para may matutunan cla at may mapatunayan sa lahat..God is so good...kahit na sa loob cla naging makulay at masaya cla doon kahit papaano..
I agree, dance teachers are like drill instructors! and this is very constructive and it along with what you already said, it also promotes team work! And i'm sure that a lot of these people are here because they weren't so hot at dealing with others.
^This person has obviously never been to a dance class before in his/her life. Dancing is actually a very effective boot-camp-esque thing to do to inmates. It promotes productivity, work ethic, good health, and...well...epic dance moves. (Which is totally something we need more of in society. Obviously)
I think that it's a great form of rehabilitation for them. And dancing at this level IS hard work. I took ballet lessons when I was in my late teens to help me with my martial arts classes. And it certainly did help. And my ballet teacher was every bit as strict as my martial arts instructor. I'd like to see the # of repeat offenders at this prison, compared to one in the U.S. of the same size.
The dancers are really good.... but the person who choreographed it did an excellent job..... I mean to have that many people in sync and on Q is absolutely great.
The prison, a 1600-inmate facility,[1] became well known for its rehabilitation program in 2005-2010 based on a program of choreographed exercise routines for the inmates. Known as CPDRC Dancing Inmates, the recordings of the various routines of the prisoners online supervised by the head of the prison Byron F. Garcia rendered them an international online celebrity sensation and phenomenon.
LMAOOO omg if i ever went to prison, i would pray and beg that i could be sent here so i could dance with them :D RIP MJ- King of Pop. He will always be remmebered as the amazing singer and dancer that broke down the colour barrier for blacks.
pt2..Byron F. Garcia, the official security advisor to the Cebu government, is credited for starting a program of choreographed exercise routines for the inmates. He was appointed head of the prison by his sister Gwendolyn Garcia, governor of Cebu Province.[1][2] The prison is best known for its rendition of Michael Jackson's "Thriller" video.[3] The prison management has also released a video explaining the concept behind the prison management at CPDRC
This was great. As for people who "dislike" Micheal... doesnt matter what you say, he made amazing music and before he was accused of whatever you loved his music and who he was. People just follow others when something goes bad and dont know the truth cause they cant make up their own minds. People who always on his side are his true fans. not some follow the leader idiot. So with that said. R.I.P. Micheal, We will always be listening to your music for generations to come.
These guys earned it. to be allowed to dance they have to have at least 3 years of good behavior in the prison to participate. and this takes a lot of hard work, team work, diligence, and they get to do something constructive with their time and have something in the end to be proud of. I bet they've never gotten that in their life which is why they turned out they way they are. prison should fix people, not brutally punish them so that when they're released they do something worse.
Mom: Honey, are you okay? What did they do to you? Released Inmate: It was horrible mom. Just...just awful. Mom: What happened? Did they hurt you? Released Inmate: Worse. Mom: Well what did they do? Released Inmate: They...they made me dance
This is from wiki about the prision.....CPDRC Dancing Inmates or the CPDRC dancers is a collective of prison inmates in Cebu Provincial Detention and Rehabilitation Center (CPDRC), a maximum security prison in Cebu, in Cebu Province, Philippines where the prisoners perform dance routines as part of their daily exercise and rehabilitation, and many of their performances are filmed and released online, making them a popular feature among fans and veritable online celebrities.
While I don't disagree that it's hard and stressful, as somebody who's dated a serious dancer for almost 2 years, you can tell that for people who have the passion (which is pretty much the only people who do it, outside of a prison scenario) they do it BECAUSE they have fun with it. Maybe not every second, but overall they do, so you can't just write it off as never being fun.
Those are some Smooth Criminals..

its nice that SOME prisons give the inmates something to do besides stare at the walls of their cells

Yes, dancing inmates are more fun in the Philippines. :D
Paying their dept to society one dance number at a time.
This reminds me of Lets Go To Prison when the main guy is organizing a dance, he should have totally done this one
