That is a great set, surprised they gave the double lane change and and wireless controllers. previous strategy seemed to sell you one or the other as add ons later. Would be nice if the cars had lights even if not authentic.
I have all 4 and they all bottom out certain sections of the track. Unless I have a bad batch. If you have a non digital crossover track piece can you try it out and see if your cars spin the tires losing traction and getting stuck. If you go over fast it’s fine but going over slow gets stuck. All my other slot cars have no issue with that.
I prefer recharging stations than having to replace the batteries every 6-9 hrs. Not sure why anyone would prefer that over the charging stations. Just my preference. They definitely should have included some banking track pieces. It is nascar. Double lane change should always be included with any digital set as always.
I'd prefer to buy rechargable AAA's and plug them into a wall charger. The control unit wants to turn itself off after 15 mins making charging with the old ones a pain. You can turn off the control units automatic shut off but you're not only wasting electricity but are taking a gamble that nothing conductive ever falls on your track. That's just how I see things though.
Carrera is for more style than racing. I love the look and beauty of Carrera cars especially the 124 cars. so I drive slow. However when I want to go all out racing I go for my AFX Race-set. AFX stick to the track like glue🍷

No, it is NOT king. Get yourself an afx 1/64-H.O. scale super international set. Carreras move like 🐢'S!
