He wants to win every game he plays. Whether that's a Super Bowl, a regular-season game in mid-October, or a charity softball game, his goal is always the same. So sure, the Chiefs were talking about the concept of a threepeat a lot immediately following their win in February, but right now they're focused on beating their next opponent. We'll get there when we get there.

Seriously, they are starting a 4th round, rookie at Left Tackle who did a serviceable job versus a pretty good D-line in week one. Veach and his staff are absolute rock stars who keep finding not just starters but stand out players in the late rounds. Combine that with the coaching staff and then Mahomes at QB, this era of Chief's football is bonkers.
I've been following the Chief's since around 82' and have experienced some highs, but a lot of lows with the Chiefs. Through all The heartbreak and those many lows, I never gave up hope that they would one day win a championship.
This insane dynasty we have going for half a decade though....I never imagined anything like that. The Niners and Cowboys had repeated success in their respective decades but to do it like the Pats and the now Chiefs, it's surreal.
I think their mindset is the same this year as every year. I think they want the Lombardi. Period. If they happen to win it again, this year, it will happen to be a 3-peat, but they're not thinking 3-peat, day in and day out. They're thinking about business, day to day.
I'm always shocked to hear how the Lions' opening day win vs Chiefs characterized. The Lions didn't actually beat the Chiefs. Just like so many games last season, the Chiefs straight beat themselves. Lions capitalized on mistakes and the Chiefs couldn't overcome their own. They had the ball with plenty of time left to get into field goal position and win the game, but they kept dropping passes. The Lions had 1 great drive to take the lead and still gave KC plenty of time to kick a winning field goal. Too many KC mistakes and poor fundamentals.
