Para Ángel el Celica es una plataforma con mucho potencial y su motor 1ZZ provee la potencia necesaria siempre y cuando tenga la combinación de piezas y programación correcta. En esta historia Ángel nos presenta su Celica GT del año 2003 bautizado como el “Underdog”. Este cuenta con su motor 1ZZ forjado, turbo Precision 5558 Ball Bearing, diferencial TRD, “clutch” ACT, sistema de frenos D2 con calipers 6 pistones, entre otros extras. ¿Dejarías el motor 1ZZ o cambiarías a 2ZZ?

I still daily my 2001 Celica GTS with 245k on it. This guy should have built a GTS not the GT. GTS is way better!

Lindo el proyecto. Un carro con el que el soñó y lo tiene desde cero millas, nuevo de paquete. Humilde el man. 🇵🇷🔥🔥 Yo tuve un carrito hace 17 años y le dediqué mucho tiempo y dinero (Accent 1997 le puse motor 2.0 de tiburón y lo hice turbo). En realidad me curaba duro pero lo tuve que vender porque embaracé a mi novia y tuve que salir de el. Hoy en día lo que más quiero es poder tener un vehículo bonito y turbo.
Te entiendo perfectamente yo tuve un Corolla 2003 3zz all motor con ligeras modificaciones en 4ta llegaba a 195 km 5 ta llegaba a 218 km lamentablemente lo tuve que vender para poder salir de Venezuela hace casi 5 años y aún sueño con regresar comprar el mismo carro subirlo a 1zz con turbo 🙏🏼🙌🏻💪🏻

Buenas, soy de Canarias, España y tuve un Celica mismo modelo y rojo también con un 1ZZ algo preparado, dando en su día y siendo atmosférico 195cv y los probaba con los 2zz de origen y los pasaba muy fácil, recomiendo el 1zz como motor muy duro, muy facil de encontrar repuestos y a diferencia del 2zz (estando preparado) siempre te entrega toda la potencia en bajas RPM y no como el 2zz que tienes que esperar a que salte el VVTLI para tener un coche mas vivo. Saludos y me encanta tú canal, me encantaría visitar PR y ver esos coches tan preciosos y sobre todo tan preparados. ✌🏻✌🏻
Yo TMB había leído sobre eso , de hecho antes de que me comprara mi celica , en realidad quería el GTS 2zz, pero por mas que lo buscaba con el dinero en mano , nunca lo encontré en ese momento , entonces me terminé comprando el GT , luego empecé a investigar sobre que la diferencia que había entre un GTS en comparación del GT ,y la verdad me di cuenta que no valía tanto la pena vender mi GT para comprarme un GTS , entonces hasta la fecha tengo el GT y no lo pienso vender ,.mejor me lo voy a quedar y lo dejaré a mi gusto , le conseguiré los rines de aspas que tiene el GTS , blanco por fuera y haber que más se me ocurre , pero estoy agusto con este celica , en cuanto a potencia me parece muy respetable... Siendo sincero si yo realmente quisiera me consigo un gts , pero no veo la necesidad

Excelente modificacion , yo soy Mecanico Automotriz y también e modificado mi auto , tengo un volvo s40 del 2002 tenía el motor dañado y decidí adaptar el motor 2zz ge con caja manual c60 del corolla xrs del 2006 . Este motor es yamaha y tiene muy bien desarrollado aparte he visto que el Lotus elise trae ese motor al igual que el celica , he publicado el vídeo de mi auto en mi cuenta de youtube de como era antes y ahora , pero ya pronto subiré vídeos de prueba y modificaciones.

Sweet Celica GT Sir! I always wanted one. Just was hesitant due to the lack of aftermarket support plus having kids. (Back seat is tiny) But I finally got one as of June 2020!) I want to turbo mine as well.

I dont think these engines are built for turbo mate. The safest bet is getting Greddy supercharger. about 60-70 more HP added. Will be more than enough
There's quite a few turbo Celicas. I'm sure they had their engines built up to handle the extra horse power.

@@cptfreeman8966 why is high HP in fwd bad? Because It could have been spent on an rwd instead?
@@samcharles1166 Cuz FWD is the worst drivetrain for acceleration, weight moves back meaning less grip on front tires and with more power you're more likely to spin the wheels. Also, more power adds more understeer and suspension has to be accordingly tuned to be drivable.

Hermano tu historia es similar a la mía, tuve el eclipse RS 1998, 2.0L como el verde de Fast & F. luego un Eclipse GT 3.0L 2002, y ahora un Celica como el tuyo, y me encanta, muy bonita línea atemporal! Lo que no me gusta del Celica es que no se siente ni tiene el power que tenía mis eclipses a menos que se modifique cómo hiciste tú... Goooooood job Bro!

@@jotarokujo6729 hi, upgrades I've done are Morosso baffled sump, monkeywrench racing billet fuel rail, high flow fuel pump, bigger fuel injectors, mishmoto radiator, TRD thermostat,colder spark plugs, PPE exhaust manifold decat midpipe and tannabe medalion catback exhaust running 12psi of boost the clutch is genuine stock Toyota all engine internals and gearbox completely stock been running like this for 3 years with no problems at all....
I also own a 2zz ge celica and was just wondering how much the whole install from stock internals cost u

Saludos.. eso se corto en la entrevista, pero el motor no exploto ni nada... yo lo abri corriendo normal para darle upgrade para evitarlo segun iba subiendo power...
@@angelcorrea4062 i believe the car is running a little to rich during wide open throttle...Noticed your air fuel ratio gauge was low 10s in 3rd and 9 in 4th gear....might have to take some fuel out .. what fuel are you on? 93 octane?
@@mperez2496 yes, I know... like I said on the video... Im currently tuning cause a couple of days prior to the video I switched to bigger injectors.. also, that day I had to used a gas which I dont normally use (lower octane) so I just bumped the gas by 10% and retard the timing by 2 degrees just to be on the safe side during the shooting.... currently Im on 11.3afr

Would love to do something similar to my Celica but don’t know enough about the 2zz conversion and what else has to come with it! Great car 😊
A 2zz conversion is quite easy, you can use the same 5speed trans of the 1zz but it's better to use the 6speed trans of the 2zz as it will keep you more in the power curve of the 2zz. And you need the 2zz wire harness and an ECU, that's about it
Lo tienes muy bonito. Las llantas y la suspensión lo cambian todo. Aparte todo lo demás.

Siempre que veo este video me da esperanzas de hacer del mio algo similar. Lo compre en muy mal estado, lo repare poco a poco en la marquesina, el shipping es una chavienda, pero aprendo segun lo brego. Y asi mismo como dijo: pa que confiarle el trabajo a otro cuando lo sabes hacer tu… y si no se sabe se aprende. Algun dia, se vera el guineo ese corriendo por ahi, mientras tanto me disfruto el logro de los demas ❤️🔥

Estamos igual, yo tengo el mismo 1zz , lo compre dañado del motor pero con interiores nuevos en el aprendí a reparar el motor desde cero estudiando el manual lo chistoso es que ya se me desvíalo por segunda vez ahahha. pero no pierdo la espereza de tener el presupuesto para el kit tubo.
Cuando me siento mal miro este video y me animo para seguirle luchar por lo que quiero.

Hi! Great build. It's rare to find clean Celicas like this, especially 1zz models. I particularly like how the engine bay is kept. Would it be possible to have some more videos/pictures of how you routes piping and cables in the engine bay? He has proven that the PLASTIC stock intake manifold can hold 400+hp and for some reason I still can't believe it LoL well done man I love this car.

Por poco se me cae la cara cuando vi que era 1ZZ, mucho respeto al pana que le ha sacado el max a la plataforma y me dañó la mente para montar el Corolla 😂. El único factor limitante es el presupuesto y el tiempo. Espero algún día trabajar mi proyecto y salir en un video de DIPR🔥
