Man, that bracket makes it look like it’d be a punish to get the floor mat out without spilling all the sand and mud that on them out of the car
I made mine to fit my Colorado from scrap laying around.
I put the handle end towards the transmission hump to avoid clothing catching or scraping the passengers legs.
I also have one mounted in the rear of the tub.
Better to have and not need than need and not have!
I live by that motto, I'm always the guy who everyone comes to because they forgot to bring something.
Great video. Great edit. This really is a great unit. I have mine on the driver side thouh as I often travel alone and fill the space on the passenger side floor. Still a good spot. Cheers mate. Well done.
Great advise, the only thing i've doin my rig are: add 2ç in the trunk area (2 is 1, 1 is nothing) and upgraded the primary to KNO3 (nitrato di potassio aerosol)
Just installed one of these a few weeks ago. Bloody awesome bit of kit
Thank God you could get that fire out so quickly. That looked pretty serious. Keeping you in my prayers.
love that this is a good idea
$80 is a bit rich for that bracket. Considering the fire extinguisher is $20.
Knock that up for about 10 bucks 👍
My thoughts to, $79 for a bit of bent metal
I made my own from scrap metal at home, few $$, exact same spot
For me personally, I didn't mind paying that price to a small aussie business that's gone to the trouble of perfecting the bracket, but agree can definitely knock one up for a lot less if you have the time. 🙂
@@explorebound I'm all for supporting Aussie business. All the gear on my Dmax is from Aussie manufacturer's. I guess being a welder makes me think how much I could make things for myself. Great channel by the way.
Great product. I'm getting one!
Well sold Daniel :)
Got this exact thing from KAP in my ute and its fantastic and very secure
What a great product, I'm likely going to grab one of those, such a better idea than in your door pocket, what happens if someone crashes into that door area? makes perfect sense to go in front of the seat. Great vid mate... about to start getting my late model Hilux finished off soon.
Yep passanger seat is where a lot of people have their extingisher mounts. Can't remember the brand I have but it did have some rough edges I had to file down; looks like your product used was a better finished product. I could suggest a 2nd unit in the kitchen somewhere easy to access.
The most likely spot to have one fitted Daniel. Ours is fitted at the driver's side in our Iveco van.
The only issue ive found is that they make removing the floor mats alot harder. Good bit of kit though and definitely one of the better locations for the extinguisher.
Great vid just a question how the fan going in fridge do you turn off or just keep it running all the time do you think it keeps fridge cooler 🤔
Kap, started out in w.a as he used to have the same model WRX as i had really awesome guy! He moved over east tho so 🤷♂️ ahahahahahha
I have a hilux and Dmax. Best place for a 4.5kg extinguisher is mounted on the tow bar with U-bolts through the steel bracket around the towbar beam. Mounting the 1kg extinguisher there is ok but bigger is better and if you have kids the last thing you want is them testing it out.
Helpful hint, remove the extinguisher and give it a shake every month so the powder doesn’t settle and compress.
Got mine in that spot but made my own bracket for few $$
Just some advice to everyone on in this comments section, use locative on everything you install so it doesn't rattle loose on your adventures
Do you need this bracket to mount the extinguisher in your car under the front seat?
Great video! What’s your Tyer size?
Hey mate, they're 33s 🙂
Have had mine in a 21' Ranger in the same place since the ute was basically new, can't go wrong, as they say cheap insurance, should the need ever arise!
$80 !!! Seriously?
That's one quick get rich quick scheme, such a simple item to knock up, except I'm guessing it's hardened also, just to retain those nice bent angles.
Bit of flat bar, can of paint, a vice, gas burner, drill, duplicate it within 15 minutes, just not hardened.
Longest part will be waiting on paint to dry, 😂😂
I would mount my extinguisher with the handle towards the centre , so as to eliminate getting clothes or bags hooked on it . Just Sayin’ .
