    my grandparents are from Guinobatan, Albay. I watched my late lolo cook Laing. Huwag daw po hahaluin ang leaves habang niluluto kasi daw magkakaron daw ng "kati" pag kinain. :) yun lang po yung naalala ko sinabi niya.

      Pag fresh siguro po d dapat haluin dahil kakati talaga kasi dito sa Negros pagnagluluto kmi ginataang Gabi d kmi gumagamit ng dried. Fresh talaga luto pari stems, laman walang dahon my sahog na Suso d po namin hinahalo. . Kahit Yung pangat namin fresh leaves din po d rin hinahalo .

    Gagayahin ko po ito... at suggestion ko po alugan niyo mg mainit na tubig ang nakadikit na gata sa mga lata para masaid po at ibuhos sa niluluto. Sayang po kasi yong creamy gata.

      Mali ka.. LAHAT ng nakalata, bote, plastic, ano pa man Yan. Is preservatives.. meaning May chemical. Iba Yung gata talga na mula niyog. At ikaw mismo ang nag papagata.

      Makati lang kapag yung niluto mo ay hindi pa very dry ang dahon nang Gabi. Yang ang ulam namin palagi since I was young.

    Wow kabayan sarap ng luto mo.. im pure bicolano. Pinanganak sa Camarines Sur pero lumaki sa Ligao Albay. Naadap ko both side kung paano magluto ng laing at kung anong laing ang makati o malambot or matigas kahit luto na. But for me depende sa laing na variety kung paano lutuin. Ngayon dito ako sa abroad paminsan minsan nagluluto din ako ng dry na lain dito . Ang ginagawa ko para tipid sa gata pero masarap at nag mamantika ang gulay , ginigisa ko muna lahat ng recado at lagyan ko ng tubig ang ginisa kung recado pagkumulo na saka ko ilalagay ang dry na laing pero kung nakita ko na masyado malambot ang laing tanyahin ko ang tubig ng ginisa at pag nasa half cooked na ang laing saka ko ilalagay ang kakang gata then mahina na lng ang apoy para mag mantika sya super sarap at kahit ilang araw d mo ilagay sa ref ang gulay d agad napapanis. Yan din ang paraan ko sa pagluto ng dried taro leaves 😅

    Specialty ng mga bicolano's para sakin pure na gata ang mas mainam na gamitin mga dlwang pinakayod na niyog tapos unang piga ang ilalagay sa pangalawang gata yung pangalawang piga ng gata ang unang ilalagay pampalambot lng muna ng laing kasi malakas magabsorb ng gata ang laing.saka mo ibubuhos yung unang pinigang gata tlagang magmamantika sya sa sarap.hindi ko preffered ang gata na nsa lata o nasa pouch.

    Wash your taro leaves by boiling it first in water. It’s really dirty once you see how black that water is after washing it

      Yes po, magpakulo ng tubig at ihulog ang dahon for a minute then drain. Better safe than sorry po. Dinapuan ng samot saring insekto kasama ng alikabok. From: Hawaii, U.S.A.

      Hindi ganyanmag luto NG laing mas masarap yong talagang orinal na gata g niyog WALANG kimekal KAYA lang parang masarap dahil SA hinalo.mong sahog na hipon at orkwala yan WALANG kuwentang pag luto mo Tama yan Kung marami Kang era goanfbili NG sahog. Ska pang gata NG fakemasmasarap naluto yong original😊

    The best na gata in can po is Savoy. More expensive than Chaokoh and Aroy-D nga lang po. Coconut cream po sya. Pero kung coconut milk, okay na po ang less expensive.

    Sa Bicol, ang ginagamit ay balaw hindi alamang. Iba ang lasa ng balaw as masarap pero mas mabaho. Ito rin ang ginagamit sa Bicol express.

    Bicolano here. Kumakati "daw" po ang taro when stirred. Usually they only mix it pag malapit na po maluto. so after ilagay ang taro leaves, ilulubog lang po sa gata pero hindi hahaluin.

    Originally laing is bicolanos especial dish...Ang style namin ,pinakukuluan ang karneng may taba sa tubig,at kusang lumalabas mantika...Hindi sa mantika.di rin hinahalo ang dahon para di Makati sa dila pag kinain..

    My mother is from bulacan and my father is from Cebu. She introduces us to eat laing. And my favorite ulam talaga is laing at sinigang na hipon. Hindi ko ipagpapalit ang laing sa lechong Cebu.

      Yes' laing the best, than lechon for me. Pang sahog LNG Ang baboy. Lalo na kung ito' ay bagnet.

    Grabe lalo akong nagutom gustong gusto ko yong ginataan gabi pero hindi ako nagluluto ng ganon dahil super kati. Ngayon ko lang din nalaman na may dried leaves ng gabi sabagay sa ibang bansa
