Hello Begoña! I unfortunately do not have experience with canning cakes, or frosting. My understanding is that although it is not an adequate form of preservation, some people utilize an oven when canning cake. However, it also is not recommended to heat canning jars in the oven if they are going to be used later for Water Bath and Pressure Canning. Since I only Water Bath and Pressure can, I avoid heating jars in the oven to ensure their stability long term. Sorry I don't have more information to share.
