As a complete amateur. This basically looks like similar to a 3d molding with a 2d image. (i might be using the wrong words) Like placing a blanket over an object you're targeting only what you need with the limited 2d image to give the veneer of a more 3d look. So then is it also helpful to have a 3d render of the model to get the topology reference? Or is that just basically making a 3d model fully rigged? I laugh at myself since now there is more steps for that better illusion, which might complicate the process. However there is a bit of merit. If you have 3d modeling experience, then the process might be more understandable as you think in 3d space with a 2d object. Huge reminder. I'm just an amateur who just got into drawing. So my merit is nonexistent. I just think about stuff that interests me.
Hii Merely Wufeii, i have a question... Is the cmo3 file that you have available to buy on your kofi, editable? I mean, i would like to know that, does it works if i place my character "above" the one you rigged? Obviously it may sound stupid and lazy, but it's just for fun, i would never profit over it.
Thanks for the tutorial ! I am using the free version, I try to save it and Live2D pops up a dialogue saying "screen color is only available is Pro version. Save failed. Please try again meeting the restrictions" The problem is I didn't change the screen color. Why does this happen ? (Please reply)
Hi! I have a question about showcases, how do you do in the video for the full model to be on the screen(on the left side) AND also half of the body model(at the ritght side) at the same time?
Hiii!! I know your comms are closed currently im not looking to commission a vtuber for quite awhile anyway, BUT I do love your art, and I was wondering what an esimate price would be to commission art+rigg for shoulders and above?😋
honestly, when i make the live2d models for my game characters, i might add 90-degree turns so they can look to the side at the characters they're talking to (Visual Novel)... although does anyone know if this is doable on the free version? i want to make my characters waist-up so idk if this would need lots of deformers
I'm riging models with horns and wings. If you could do a tutorial for those, that would be great. Also, if anyone in the comments sees this and has tips, feel free to share. Thank you.
Hi i have a video request for the future so If it is possibe Can you try to make a vtuber model in ibisPaint X I want to make a model but idk how in Ibis so If possible may you try this?
There are tons of tutorials online for that, and from what I know she uses procreate! Ibis paint doesn't provide psd, but any other programs that use psd should work.
half of the comments are from people who are not involved in live 2D modeling. It’s terrible, people don’t even know how to use the program but they still write. And for us, hard workers who learned the program on our own without courses with certificates, it’s already hard, so every day you come up with some new features that an uncomprehending client asks to include in their model.... You are spoiling the industry by having such hard workers soon how will we unite into teams to retain more clients... I don’t think this will end well.
I have quite a bit of experience working with Live2D, because I've made many Vtuber models and rigged them myself but imo,, Live2D is just a plethora of infinite possibilities. until a day comes when someone decides to do a complete course on how to *really* take full advantage of the software.. free tutorials will have to do. Plus, I've realized many people, while having all the resources, still can't make a good rigging because of perspective issues. 🤔
I'm someone who has watched many videos from Himono and also the free Live2d Juku content. I haven't seen a tutorial on this and I've been itching to do this properly, especially since head x 60 and mouth x is complicated, and then on top of that there is head Z which messes the eyes and nose angles too. This at least helps me figure out some of the things I want to do in Live2d that I haven't figured out fully before.
They're not spoiling anything. It's not their fault some customers are either stupid or bratty enough to ask any artist for this or any other feature regardless of how difficult and not stop at a simple "no". And let's face it, teaming up is a good idea regardless because the work takes so long and requires so much effort. To be paid the same as a part timer you would need somewhere around £800 (using my currency for ref purely because I know it best) at minimum just to get by. That's discounting how detailed things can get, extra expressions, VBridger, the bottom half of the model, special effects, more outfits, heavy rendering of lights/ glowing/reflections, etc etc. My own model- I'm not working in the field, but I have personal projects- took me 5 months, so times that 800 by 5, again, just so I can eat and pay rent, it would be the bare minimum pay. For specialised work, you should be paid far more, which is why the average cost is $2000. So, yeah, totally reasonable to get two people working on it, one doing art and one doing rigging, like you would often see, then charge $2000 or more for each section. Because the nature of the work is inherently difficult and time consuming, it's art- you will see teams of artists in corporate settings all the time, so why should freelance be so different? Burnout is a real thing, it's not bad to get help. Then there's the obvious point you can charge so much more with detail and flexs like in this video. If you're going to do extra work, you might as well charge people a lot for it so they know and expect it to be a fairer trade.
Ngl, you sound really arrogant here. Sharing knowledge is not a bad thing, if clients ask for features you can say decline or raise the price its not a big deal.
when you make this shit you make our customers want it, and you're doing a disservice. I had 10+ wait list and 7 customers already show me this video and say :omg we can do same?:. And ofc they wont pay more, they wont wait more, but time spent to model is increases... sometimes you still need to think with your own head, and not chase views with foam at the mouth
@@DonnyHell but why won't they pay more? ._. i mean, if they won't pay more or wait for more time, then don't do it the girl in the video even says you can get to charge even 400$ more (i think it was that amount) for this thing
@@txchia you stupid? less time work - more money. If i will make 4 month 1 model for 3k$, so in 3 month on real life job even being coffe seller i will purchase 9k for 3 month. @@txchia Well, trying to grab a client for yourself, you try to make the price as comfortable as possible for him. Okay, I understand that my client is a beggar, and after he asked me for such a head, do you think he’ll pay an extra $400? You know what, to hell with it. I hope AI will replace us all, and clients will make the models they like, and we will have an oversaturation of live 2D models and in the end it will become unpopular and no one will care about live 2D.
1. I didn’t come up with 180 turn, I was a small rigger who saw others do it and went through hoops figuring out how to do the same, and now want to facilitate it for others. If you go on twitter you will see so much more Live2d “meta” and amazing rigs all done by humans, not AI. I get humbled, I get depressed too, but I could only be grateful if they share their process so that I could learn and improve my rigs. 2. “You shouldn’t post tutorials bc you ruin lives of those who had to figure it out the hard way” that’s how education works??? Biggest gatekeeper words I’ve heard😭 screw AI but to be against people actually learning and doing things themselves?? 3. If you have a wait list of 10+ clients I doubt you’re struggling getting clients, so it makes 0 sense not properly charging for your services. If they came to you with this video, they should’ve seen me saying the price for this addon which is at least 400 usd, so if they are worthy clients who respect your time they WILL pay. 4. If I wanted clout, my non-tutorial videos tend to get way more views.
We are already scared that AI will replace humans here too. And you also ruin everyone’s life by making only entertaining content for your TH-cam channel.
