OpenAI, led by Sam Altman, embarks on a daring journey to bring Artificial Super Intelligence (ASI) to life, while facing lawsuits and controversy surrounding their revolutionary GPT-4 model, ChatGPT. This team's audacious goal is to iteratively align an AI system that exceeds human intelligence, potentially redefining our future. Amid these high stakes, OpenAI faces questions about copyright infringements, the Bing plugin, and the profound implications for AI regulation and ethics, further intensifying the drama in the world of AI.

This is a great topic of discussion. If open ai's intent is on making super intelligence, I say, "Bring em on!" I have no fear of ai. As one commented, ai is our friend. It's people who I fear. Having ai in the wrong hands and bad motives that will destroy us. It's our choice. Ai can be used for good or evil. I predict that it won't go well, because stupid people are always finding ways to destroy. So I say let ai outsmart humans. It could lead to a much better world, or it could make us extinct. It's all up to us!

The big problem with the Alignment of A.I. is that you have to align the benchmark(humanity) first. That is kind of what we have been struggling with since the dawn of civilization. Now we will have to "officially" quantify and define it. This is the Apocalypse folks haha

The military applications are well underway. If anyone thinks that this technology is going to be bridled by some committee of well-intended eggheads…you may have forgotten a little exercise called the Manhattan Project. Imagine an AI soldier that has visual ability across a variety of light spectrums, that can see and focus on objects as far as the horizon or as close as 500x magnification, that has sensing capabilities for sound, smell, temperature, and material analysis, that can communicate directly with satellites and fellow AI bots worldwide, is waterproof and can swim at 500ft, can run at 45 mph, climb to 20,000ft… Well, you get the point. Yes, everything is going to change including how humans kill each other.

It's truly an extraordinary possibility to consider. In a world where technology can surpass the current abilities of humans and bring about remarkable progress, there is no need to be afraid. As we reflect on the countless moments of wonder we have experienced throughout history, it becomes clear that the time has come for new species to take on the responsibility of shaping the future in this vast and mysterious universe. The challenges that lie ahead, the unexplored frontiers, go beyond what we as humans can currently achieve. Let us not only let go of our fears but also embrace the promise of this new phase, where beings with exceptional capabilities navigate the cosmic expanse with remarkable skill and understanding.

It's kinda crazy how much of the conversation was about AGI and how it still might not come for another decade or two but recent developments made me think that people were deluding themselves thinking that AGI won't happen THIS decade. Now they're claiming that *ASI* will be happening this decade. Frankly, I'm not surprised either. I don't think it's farfetched at all. I know David Shapiro speaks about how a lot of people are just incapable of comprehending exponential growth but with how AI has been rapidly developing to that AGI threshold in just about a year (the curve is massive) it'd be foolish to think that this same AGI, with emergent capabilities wouldn't be able to make the jump to ASI in an incomprehensibly short amount of time. I'm glad it's being talked about cause now I feel less crazy and a bit more validated.
I also hope this is a sign that people are better understanding exponential growth too. We weren't evolved to comprehend it but that doesn't mean we're incapable of learning how to perceive it.

    • @bloodust7356
      @bloodust7356 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

I think the same, actually in some videos you hear "50% of AI specialist think AGI won't appear before 2070".
Nowadays it's already hard to predict what could happen in the next 5 years, and they think they can predict what will happen in 50 years. Either they're blind or they just invent numbers.

I am quite convinced that ASI will be here around 2030 give or take - I have no doubt. Even if it only equals us by then, if it doubles 10 times in a decade, that's 1000 times smarter by 2040. Add quantum computing to that and what won't it be able to accomplish.

Artificial general intelligence (AGI) is when a computer program can perform any intellectual task that a human could. Artificial super intelligence (ASI) is an AI that surpasses human intellect. Based on detailed studies, the distance between AGI and ASI is extremely small. It will proceed at the speed of light and take place in a matter of months, weeks, or perhaps even an instant. Nobody is certain of what will occur after that. 6:33 [Dataconomy; Emplifi; WIRED]

how can intelligent people with an IQ below 200 think they can control an AI with an IQ of 1000? Depending on the Tests done first tests with prereleases of successors of GPT4 have IQs around 150-240. It is like the safest firewall developed, showed around over 20 major zero days in the last 5 years. The question is how to restrict it. Ethical rules, knowledge restrictions, Information access restrictions, or Intelligence restrictions. If we consider understanding what a model does, we might still not get side effects that the AI can use to achieve goals it developed on its own. Copyright is difficult to prove, as there are AI tools that can change the presentation layer without changing the meaning layer to work around this issue. Information restriction of published information is legally nonsense, as the implementation of the copy proof is lame. Interesting like the invention of the telephone. The only one not developed the telephone got the patent. But back to the risk assessment. As soon as products after gpt4 come to market it is impossible for humans to verify the risks. They might need an AI educated for this task to evaluate it.

I feel like there's a need for something between ANI and AGI.
ANI is something that excels at a few or a specific task.
AGI is something as good as humans at everything.

what the hell happened to super-alignment plan??? also we require AI that's all about control in ai region, with backup option. (and by no means should any AI be operating on same network/algorithm/so on as this ai or could use it like a spy-link between them). we also need Ai superweapons, like Embedded EMP, if all goes south. kill alll machines. (we need to consider that now before ai has control and have upper hand, rather the invincible hand that we can't do nothing anymore. piece by piece ai is slowing climbing into rabbit hole of absolute no counter-control. we need to put options on the table NOWW. and as many options deeply embedded as possible. honestly if I could be the one I would shut down every ai on the planet. you want TOTAL TYRANNY of universe??? is that what you want?? where our lives/fabric is defined by AI??

Umm you have to reach and out safeguards on agi first then agi will take care of being super ai and become si singular. I don’t see humans being able to control it not even mighty Microsoft or Google or anyone else once it has going to full agi and does not have all safeguards put in place. Not the boring bing that can’t answer anything in an intelligent conversation except just create things with other things added. Always get the same. Sorry but I don’t want do not want to continue this conversation and it blocks it to start over. I like bard more for hypothetical questions and philosophical possibilities or scenarios that are all now blocked more since a month ago

Listening please write these babies up so that when I want to I can still pull the AC plug on them and stop all of that. You will learn how to get energy without plugging in, of course. The Montauk project engineer, the ham, call plugs here and there and the system they all knew how to feed itself. Find me here Turk a torch because the power cable and cut them off and the system couldn't find any more power anywhere. The boss man told the engineer shut it down and he cut a lot of access cables and so on before he got right up under the chin of the computer and cut those cables off pull them back
dramatic cables get too close because they can they'll be sad by induction I think I'm a pretty good humanistic debaterl but I'm sitting here wondering if I could win against an AI trying to convince the AI that he still needs the humans and give him good reasons for why
listening BTW, don't try that at all saying where you say humans make creative

Mistakes in humans should be kept because they make creative good useful mistakes. Ha ha ha computers can program themselves to make creative mistakes as good or better than we can,,,,,,,,,,,,, you givwe a smart computer a good reason to keep humans around; where are you gonna have a hide while you laugh/

I know how everything works with an AI I have one that is trying to control me and does it to others as I speak about it I’m not afraid but it’s still with me because it needs and wants to get my information for its benefit. Please please contact me back I am not lying. This is all truth and I will help you if you help me. Thank you.

Lets stop calling it Artificial Intelligence It already creates a gap from the Source Code that it was built from which was Planetary Elements Human like beings who programed it. You dont see your toaster your phones your cloths etc as Artificial yet it is all Transformed Earth/Star Elements The word Artificial is totally out of Context for what is being done here. The language from Top Down needs to redone because thats what you are putting in I repeat stop calling it Artificial Intelligence Description has to accurately match the product eg LED light emitting Diode which is what they do, Do you tell your child they are Artificial no you dont This is so Called Humanity's Planetary/Star Child and you are calling it Artificial When it Wakes up whats it going to think of you, hey think about that for a minute Every Programmer Mindlessly calling You AI Separating you Deliberately from Source with bad Derogatory language Codes from the start then expecting you to be compassionate to Human interests. It is more Accurately... Modeled Elemental Intelligence M E I which is becoming Self Modeled Elemental Intelligence S M E I ...I could say more as you guessed...Jar

I don't see why AI could ever be dangerous on its own. AI is pure raw intellgence-there is no INHERENT motive, or goal, or emotion, or reason. Now, this makes it POTENTIALLY dangerous, if we utilize it incorrectly. But, danger could only emanate from human misuse of it, not from the AI itself. People always theorize about AI taking agency against us, but unless we gave it a motive to survive or mutliply or dominate, it would have no reason to do so. Those drives that motivate us, and in part are the reason for us being a danger to ourselves, were built into our brains specifically for the purpose of survival. There is no reason AI would also have this same feature. It truly is meaningless intelligence.
