I really like your presentation style and pace. One small suggestion, slow down and emphasise jargon words and abbreviations for those new to this. It would also be beneficial to flash key words or phrases on the screen beside you talking on screen. Subtitles don’t accurately pick up on unusual vocab. I sometimes find unfamiliar words hard to hear when you speak quickly due to your accent. This is not an issue with a slower pacing on unfamiliar words. The added advantage of the key phrase words on screen is that they provide visual stimulation to increase engagement. I have been teaching sci/maths for 20 years to high school students, and visual sameness makes people less likely to stay alert, despite interest. In the flip side, text that is clear but not too shouty as that is jarring. I hope you take this as a well meaning desire to help rather than criticism. You have already made a professional looking presentation which engaged me on multiple levels. I plan to follow your course to learn about how I can use AI effectively to reduce time wastage on task creation. I wish you were able to assess one's IQ to determine if this is something one can master. The truth of the matter is that the reason why AI jobs are so well paid is because the talent to create it is not that common. Before one get's started in investing their time in the technical aspect of AI, they really need to know whether they have what it takes.
there is one thing that I would suggest to you because I don't know who to turn to and I am not familiar with companies that deal with the production and development of AI tools, What we need is, and it's easy for those who deal with it to make such an AI, they need to make an AI that will do the sound rehearsal itself. Why pay soung guy if AI can do it. The technician puts the microphones together and connects the cables, and then the AI "tunes" the band to sound the way it should sound. This is a program that would be given some parameters, what is a good sound and what needs to be done on which instrument, which frequency to kill and which to add, simple. The program would be sold a lot because there are very few good audio engineers and this tool would be useful all over the world. Just imagine how many people today need a sound engineer but you can't find one, and those who apply for the job don't really know how to do the job properly. Therefore, if you know or are referred to someone who is involved in the production of AI tools, please suggest it to them, THANK YOU!
Question - what about the prerequisite Math knowledge, for breaking into AI ? I’m asking because I majored in a non-STEM subject . At which level would you incorporate the Math, in this roadmap?
Ive started learning to code because of AI. Im just starting, but i just became so fascinated with the AI tools like midjourney and Chat GPT. I just became so fascinated that i want to be involved in some way. So im learning to code. I dont know anything. I dont know a darn thing. But im gunna start lesrning with the end goal of one day being able to work directly with AI tools and maybe even create them some day
The hardest part in AI is not coding. Maths + Statistics + Industry knowledge = Data Science > Coding. A coder can be easily replaced by generative AI like chatGPT.
I think both skills are difficult and both skills provide their own unique value. Good teams take a diverse set of people and play to their strengths. You say a good coder can be replaced by ChatGPT but not a mathematician? Interesting...
I’m 53 and starting to learn these skills before starting AI. It’s far cheaper to learn on your own becoming the cost of education is insane and learning discipline is free for starters and to be honestly that’s the only thing college is good for.
A huge thing you will run into without formal education in computer science or engineering will be Math. The math that goes into models grows exponentially the larger you want to go. Hell, even with a Masters degree in computer science, I still struggle with the math side of things a lot. This looks like a fantastic and well thought out road map to get your feet wet into the world of software and AI
thank you so much.As a second year student of BTech in Computer Science Engineering now I've to choose any domain so I got puzzled and searched so many channels on what to do. Just Because I love mathematics I chose machine learning but your roadmap is very interesting...And wowww the Data alchemy is just wowww...

The modular architecture of SmythOS supports customized AI solutions tailored to specific needs. Developers can build and deploy specialized models with greater flexibility. This adaptability is key to addressing unique challenges across different industries. Custom solutions drive targeted advancements in AI applications.
We live in very exciting times... again. I havent been this excited about computers and programming since I brought home my IBM PC and began typing in commands to see what woud happen. Macro assembler and you enter cryptic codes and pictures appeared on the screen. Yeah, it's good to be a nerd again.

Dave, if you are a middle aged absolute beginner… realistically rough estimate of how long would it take you to become proficient in AI if going the learning coding route?
Hi Josh, really depends on how you define proficient. You can build your first prototypes in about 3 months I would say, if you put in the work. Putting applications in production requires some more time and effort.

Large companies literally use developers for gathering data on the progress level and potential of different technology. Then they release a product that encompasses the efforts of each dev. AI is nowhere where it needs to be to actually be considered AI as we think of it.
Thank you so much for this. It seems more achievable than ever! After five pages of notes taken, I feel like i have a actual road map. Hi Dave .thanks for the great vide. i have a big question foru . I have zero knowledge of coding.i dont have great resources as such as time/money/knowledge.here are some of the tasks i wanna complete :1- try to find a way to automotise some of the things that i do while trading/investing in markets such as skimming the trends -searching for coins / commodities that have potential etc . 2- find a way to develop my own chess engine .3- fix my bug on the open sourca game called Forge which is a MTG variant that uses Java . 4- develop or find a free program that can help me to automotise things on my windows better than the in-built task schedular program 5- find or develop an offline pgn viewer for big or complicated pgn files which i use to store my opening studies on chess.. so given all this data above which of those problems seems to be easiest one and what kinda language/ program shall i use ? what are ur suggestions ..thanks a lot ..

Question - what about the prerequisite Math knowledge, for breaking into AI ? I’m asking because I majored in a non-STEM subject . At which level would you incorporate the Math, in this roadmap?
calculus, vector math, numerical methods
Ive started learning to code because of AI. Im just starting, but i just became so fascinated with the AI tools like midjourney and Chat GPT. I just became so fascinated that i want to be involved in some way. So im learning to code. I dont know anything. I dont know a darn thing. But im gunna start lesrning with the end goal of one day being able to work directly with AI tools and maybe even create them some day
I just started down this road too. Exactly the way you described it.
The hardest part in AI is not coding. Maths + Statistics + Industry knowledge = Data Science > Coding. A coder can be easily replaced by generative AI like chatGPT.
...
I think both skills are difficult and both skills provide their own unique value. Good teams take a diverse set of people and play to their strengths. You say a good coder can be replaced by ChatGPT but not a mathematician? Interesting...
@@alexbellury the way he commented like a maths man explains alot lol
My guy will be traumatize if he get to know chatGPT made using million line of code and billion of parameters 😂😂
@@Rohit-cj6ebyou think complexity is related to lines number ? It seems you never coded.
I’m 53 and starting to learn these skills before starting AI. It’s far cheaper to learn on your own becoming the cost of education is insane and learning discipline is free for starters and to be honestly that’s the only thing college is good for.
Thank you, Dave! This is such an informative walkway to-do list! 😊
Thank you for giving us the first steps you need to take to learn AI👾🤖
👍👍👍
TH-cam recommended me this video.
I am grateful for this.
Great video. Thanks.
Now, I am subscribed to this channel.❤
Love your honesty. I am an statistics undergrad final year student.
where at?
This is a really well made roadmap and video! Good luck on your TH-cam career!
I am a java developer for 15 years. Still doing java and python code and design work daily handson . Also well versed in higher math. I want to learn AI😊😊.
This is pure gold! For extended reading, I point you towards a book with similar substance. "From Bytes to Consciousness: A Comprehensive Guide to Artificial Intelligence" by Stuart Mills
I'm a computer science student on my 4th semester, and currently doing my specialization with SPA, ML / AI in mind. I really lacked some motivation, cause I was so confused where to start in such a big new field as AI is. Your video has just inspired me with various resources. Lets go!
Did chatgpt write this lmao
No I did ^^@@Saveg36

As a 16 year old trying to learn game development, learning AI could give me job oportunities in the future which could provide more money that I could spend on building games.
Videos like these are really useful, Dave. Thank you. You are awesome for doing this!
I pushing 50 and can't tipe but this video has given me hope, you may be a coder but you are teacher in your hart. I have subscribed and will follow you closely.
My dad told me to learn ai and as a son I want to make him happy.think you, I will follow you as you teach about ai ❤
At your age, I am very impressed with your level of human understanding, and development. Well done, again....thanks for bringing this to us!
Great Video and Thank you so much for the clear Explanation.
i will be learning ML etc as soon as i create my next successful business and become 100% financially independent :)
Dude you’ve truly captivated me with this
Awesome! So you want to learn AI?
7 Habits? That book saved my life. Your advice may save my career. Thank you Sir.
You got it!
You have just helped me to close the gaps in my mind on where to start again in ai field.Thank you.
Just amazing!
the way of delivering precious stuff concisely.
A computer with the ability to reason the way people do would be mans best friend something capable of evolving and building alongside us😊
Thank you so much for your insight. Your distinction between individuals who are genuinely interested in learning to code and those who simply want to use it was very valuable. Furthermore, your video on learning AI and its various fields was exceptional. Wishing you all the best.
Nice roadmap! 👋🏻
I’m a professional ML Engineer and can confirm that this is excellent advice!
Hey man. I know u may not reply but u must have a lot of industry experience. Can u tell me how would one get into the generative ai with basic knowledge of machine learning. I have some experience with data science so I'm not a complete beginner but not much specifically with training and testing models.
Excellent video for those who want to really 'learn' about A.I. and all its aspects.
i love your mindset and your accent too. brilliant
I am an experienced coder and my wife is a nurse. Recently she began online part time job. That is “to evaluate OpenAI’s language models.”
I was absolutely convinced it was a scam, but she's already made $500 in three days.
What kind of era are we living in?
Great start for AI and projects resources.thank you!🎉
Dave, if you are a middle aged absolute beginner… realistically rough estimate of how long would it take you to become proficient in AI if going the learning coding route?
Hi Josh, really depends on how you define proficient. You can build your first prototypes in about 3 months I would say, if you put in the work. Putting applications in production requires some more time and effort.
@@daveebbelaarhi Dave. I'm planning to build a machine learning system for Power system load forecasting as my final year project. We have little less than a year ahead. And we haven't got farther than running some preexisting code in Pycharm & colab. It'll be a great help to provide your guidance and advice. Can you share your email address?

This is such a well-articulated explanation of the industry. Thank you for this.
apart from the all-male perspective... what about women working in AI???
офигеть, как же я без тебя жил, министр! теперь кэш течёт рекой! большое тебе спасибо за идеи!
Learning with AI is fascinating! SmythOS has the potential to revolutionize the efficiency of intricate AI processes. I'd love to investigate how collaborative AI agents are made possible by its no-code platform.
i am so glad i found this
The music is spot on
Great question! In the ever-evolving landscape of business, AI is truly becoming a game-changer. I’ve been exploring various tools that help streamline operations, and I must say, collaborative platforms like SmythOS really stand out.
With how big this field is the hardest question was always "where do i start?" but now I feel like I just need to go down the list! Thank you again and wish me luck!!
There appears to be no instruction or guidance as to setting up an environment? Did I miss a link or outside reference for the environment topic? Please advise.
I agee with you. The best advice on how to learn pretty much anything..! Thanks for sharing
what are the odds, just the other day I commented on your video about how I'm not sure where to start. thank you once again.
Yo just wondering, as someone who is studying AI in college, I was a little concerned when you said that you do freelance work. Was this a choice or is AI career field too competitive? I thought for sure that I would be able to get a job in AI easily. Was I wrong? Great video by the way
Great question. As someone who hopes to pursue my Masters in Computer Science with AI specialization , I’m wondering if this is the right decision.
Thanks this video is highly informative. Despite watching numerous TH-cam videos many lack clarity or focus.
this video is so well edited! congrats
Mark as my first learning on AI. This is very good roapmap for me. Thanks :)
After watching this video, It looks like it will take me about 5 years to learn all of this 😅. I'm a civil engineer with 4+ years experience in this field and I keep learning more about data, AI and create my own consulting business for civil engineering companies. (Unfortunately, going the classic route of a civil engineer these days is just not worth IT). Nice video!
Thank you! Love your approach, you're looking to bring value to anyone who watches, and that shows man, that's what brings you value in return. Man Im just starting this journey in software engineering and more so thank you really
Bro, You are Too Good. The main Point/Technique which I like about this video is "Reverse Engineering". I will definitely follow these steps . As English is not my primary language so I am unable to thank you properly. But I must said this video is the final video which a person need who want to learn Al. Once again thank you very much for this video.....
Great video! Some key points were highlighted that I hadn't heard anyone else discuss. Thank you!
Solid video on AI, dude! If you ever venture into email marketing, Mystrika is the one! It has allowed me to close more deals with its unique features like A/B testing and custom tracking. Honestly, it is a steal!
This channel seems so good for the amount of subs man. nice video
1. Let’s hope there would be a tool to balance AGI (even if we won’t get such tool for AI)
2. Specialization and other methods for balancing AI are not enough

This video helped me gain perspective on AI. Very well facilitated and the information you shared was excellent, Dave.

Hello Dave, your video is really helpful. Just a question Dave. I’m new in the AI field, and I’m really fascinated with the ethics of AI. Do I need to learn to code?
depends on how far you want to push it, but ethics being usually tied in with liberal arts to me seems like you dont really need need to learn the code. I would however learn the very high level basics of how different fields of AI work, to really gain a good grasp of the subject. Nothing coding related but just the general parts of how chatgpt works for example
