Erik here! This is one of the Loki post-season videos I made before I went on my paternity leave a few weeks ago, and yup, I made it before Jonathan Majors was fired. I plan to dig into all of that when I return in January. I think it will be good to give us all some time to reflect and cool off.
Good idea to keep that until the dust has settled a bit (and perhaps Marvel will have made an announcement on where they are going moving forward).

I think one thing that's overlooked is that Asgardians, while aging slower than humans, actually get more powerful with age. All of Loki's timeslipping is relative to him, just time dilation with interstellar travel. Not only did Loki age a few centuries in the one cut, he also probably aged dramatically stepping out towards the loom before breaking it. Even without master the timeslipping and learning all the science, he still would have had a massive powerup due to the aging... which may be the reason why he was actually powerful enough to do what he did at the end.
loki isnt an asgardian though. he is a frost giant.

I personally think that this is all He Who Remains’ plan still in action. He needs the Multiversal war in order for him to become the one at the end of time. He gave Loki the ability so that someone other than one of his variants would rule after him. All that has to happen now is for all his other variants to start the war, and the loop continues…for all time, always. The war begins, He Who Remains defeats all other Kangs by isolating the sacred timeline. Loki branches off his timeline and gets caught by the TVA and becomes a variant of Avengers 1 Loki. It’s one big loop and it’s all a part of his plan. Remember in season one he said, “You either take my place or you can kill me, thus starting another multiversal war and I just end up right back here anyway”.

Just one thing, HWR said that after the war it would be one of his variants that would take his place, so for all intent and purpose this version of HWR will be dead

Loki got knowledge by learning everything about mechanics, physics and engineering for centuries. Literally centuries. With that knowledges he understood the equations on He Who Remains' board and found another, even better, solution.
I think that people aren't realizing that HWR wants his variants to be defeated and that he wanted his replacement to not be dependent on his technology and that's why he chose Loki the only thing HWR doesn't agree with is the way Loki deciding to do things because all of existence might cease to exist.
Looks more like HWR put Selvi there, building their connection to make Loki Take the third option saving both Selvi and his friends, seems like he was forced to take this route. HWR might have still made Loki do exactly what HWR wants. Maybe it is still the path he paved for everyone
i thinks that he who remains put loki on the path the whole season. he gave loki time-slipping, and also was the one to put him at the end of time to replace him. if he could pave the road to make loki think he could change time to defeat him, he could also do it and pave to road to make him the one at the end of time. in season 1 he who remains said that he was old and he was tired of this job, and that loki would be the perfect one to do it. but he put him on a longer road to make sure that this choice was really his, that loki would really want to do it for everyone else. hwr made this road in season 2 to give loki the knowledge and understand the job truly before he would sit at the end of time.

timelines began to die for the reason that HWR warned Loki (multiverse war would begin in which no one would survive). Seeing confirmation of this prediction after destruction of the loom, Loki begins to feed timelines with his magic (which, unlike the loom's rings, is infinite), thereby serving as a multiverse artificial ventilation of the lungs. Loki keeps multiverse alive, giving TVA and everyone else a chance to win instead of die trying to fight for free will. The branches of the Yggdrasil are purple (the color of Kang, there is a war in the "future"), and the trunk is green (the color of Loki, which provides artificial ventilation). Thus, Loki needs to keep the multiverse alive until TVA and Avengers defeat Kangs at the top of the purple branches before timelines finish mutual destruction. When Avengers succeed, Loki will retire because multiverse will be able to breathe on its own.

HWR didn’t account for Loki’s longevity, which didn’t allow him to consider how long he had to learn quantum physics (100+ years or so). That’s how with one glimpse, Loki was able to decipher HWR’s equation, then later figure out his own third option of a living/dying fractal timeline which he could navigate and guide instead of prune to suit one specific narrative.

@@lilokiola9525 why does he need to be bad? He will do what is necessary. It doesn't make him bad. I think there will be a bigger threat (Galactus or something). Loki will have to make a decision that will split opinion. But I dunno if he will be bad. He isn't the power hungry weirdo from before.

Interesting that Loki had the time powers that HWR could only use through technology. With the non-linear nature of their stories it could well be true that HWR derived his abilities from analysing Loki.

Good luck with the baby! - I also thought that Loki being a god and now possibly a God, would have not only a different point of view across all of this knowledge (especially since he studied for 'a a thousand' or so years, but his options as a god/God were far greater than a human (no matter how smart and wise). So cool!
Looking at this from this angle. Loki wouldn't learn it from his adoptive Father... But the surrogate Father (Illustrator) taught him what he wouldn't learn then. Now it appears purpose and choice for Loki, but an answer to his life long dream to rule.
Was it a mistake though? Seems like HWR plan worked out exactly as intended. He wanted someone else to take over, loki took over. Plan success...
No he wanted Loki to kill Sylvie so that he can remain as the god of time. Sylvie still kills Kang while Loki becomes the loom.

I dont think that was the intention at the end of season 1 in regards to Loki being 'sent back in time', and more of a retroactive change come season 2. I think the season 1 ending was to signify Kang has arrived and changed everything, and setting up a grand multiversal war (which does line up with early pitches of season 2). The writers just pivoted to what we eventually got with the season 2 opener.
Something i just thought is he who remains lies in the season 1 ending about not knowing what was going to happen when he dropped the thing on his desk
I doubt the Kang character won’t really feel the same anymore. Might be a overreact but I just feel like after a few movies and shows it won’t be the same… that’s like switching Thor after a few movies. Seems like certain people are made for a character

In some what of a bitter sweet poetic justice with loki being in The position he is in now, they can actually explain Kang away. Especially to get antman out of the paradox that he was left in, in the last movie. Loki should have the ability to simply snap all kangs out of all time lines and existence. Easy peasey all done.

Does the fact that Loki, being adopted as a Frost Giant, was imbued with the power of an Asguardian, make him also able to tap this god-like power that he never before had? Or perhaps Kang is more special than we think, perhaps granting him the power as a Beyonder-like being? Perhaps Marvel Studios will explore it making some sort of explaination in an upcoming series or film.
I Think HWR Wanted Loki To Sat On The Citadel's Chair Binded By Those Time Lines To Ultimately Stop Loki From Escaping & HWR's Past Variant Can Lead The Way Again To The Future To Become The He Who Remains Again.
Because it Wasn't Sylvie It Was Loki & His Variants Which He Who Remain Was Afraid Of So He Technically Locked Loki In The Jail of Keeping Timelines By Binding Him Into Those Timelines With That Chair.😢😢
Kang created father time Loki. Loki is centuries old and is able to keep his prime appearance. He is now a legendary figure and would perhaps be the leading member of a council of legends he forms to stop all the Kangs.
If Loki just let the loom explode then the Multiverse Saga is over!
Now that Kang is gone, how are they going to fix this mess without completely waisting ‘Loki?’ Utilise Loki’s powers to ‘rewrite the story?’
The storytelling isn’t a waste. It was still an amazing series regardless what happens with that Kang character. Some of you marvel fans get too tied to one thing and very seldom welcome change. Let them (marvel) figure it out.
ALL i know is that Loki's solution is chaos...time branches intertwining... He saved lives but did give them peace...

Help! What is the whisper right as Loki looks at the equation in the citadel? I've listened to it a hundred times and I can't figure it out.
i think Loki forming the tree is still part of a loop. in the background of the TVA we see the timekeepers and TVA workers prune a tree. by forming the tree loki made sure that he who remains is reborn again as the "sacred timeline" is not his own...
I think it was Sylvie who saw what Loki was doing and said "He's giving us a fighting chance." Loki knew he couldn't fix everything but he could hold everything together for other people to.

@@ZyliceLiddell Canonically, Thanos was controlling him during the attack on Earth but the MCU seems to have dropped that arc and simplified him as just an inherently bad person who turns completely around.
I realize that Loki's motivations haven't been consistent between movies, as he's been a supporting character written by multiple people who didn't initially plan for him to be around this long, but he had Daddy issues, trust issues, identity issues, both an inferiority complex and a superiority complex, and was a hero of Asgard for over a thousand years before the events of the first Thor movie. The Loki series had a lot to play around with but, instead, just portrayed him as a cliche of a megalomaniac villain.

i agree with that. he miscalculated when loki learned physics and all, loki found a different way with the help of mobius and sylvie. so instead of joining him, loki replaced him. which he won't be alive anymore as loki chose a different path. a better one than what he who remains expected him to do.

No Loki pulled a Doctor Strange. Loki knew the only way to end this once and for all was to let the multiversal war happen one more time in order for the final outcome to be changed completely so no more multiversal wars would happen again.
I never thought it was up for debate who created the tva. I always thought it was He Who Remains.
So...isn't known fact that Asgardian get more powerful as they get older? The temporal radiation ages things. So Loki is basically power level over 9,000. Makes sense the vfx made him look older as he walked further down the pathway.

I don't see this as a mistake by HWR though. HWR and Loki both acknowledge at this point that they aren't mortal enemies anymore. Far more on the ally side in fact. HWR WANTS the Kang Dynasty to get destroyed, which is why he CHOSE Loki to take his throne. The final conversation they had was great and felt like a professor/pupil office hour session.

In a way having to hold back on Kang for obviou reasons..us actually a good thing.
If He who remains intended to die in order to be reborn whilst using Loki to hold the multiverse together, you wouldn't expect his uprising to happen overnight.
It's really hard to think about these theories when we know they actually were building on the idea of a loop and then RR and HWR relationship but they had to change the ending and they came up with this mess.
they never gave us a thor and loki reunion after end game, just like we haven't seen a wanda and white vision reunion... i feel like the impact of these reunions won't mean as much the longer they wait to do them.
Its so sad that Jonathan did this to himself. He was so amazing as Kang and all the variants. I just loved how he talked and how clever he was (I'm talking about the character here, just so we are clear, not Mr Majors.) He was on track to be a super star!

he who remains, remains. he didnt have the power to truly fix the multiverse, and now he has the tree of time, and the tva after his lesser remnants. loki is where he needed him to be, while the tva is managing the timelines that wouldnt have fit through his limited mechanical means. the infinity expanding infinite timelines, are managed. and now, he has no reason to stay hidden away at the end of time, waiting for his plan to play out, so he can know peace, away from his variants.
So if it wasn’t a problem, then why is the answer an infinite scaling problem 1:50

With everything about crowns and looping and sacred time line think crown of ragnorock and that time Thor was like nice but worhless.. and destruction.. and he who remains as one can exist and not remain.. and loki being loki.. who now loki VS loki is now loki not VS everyone else.. as he who remains is just a loki upon himself as well..
Solutions is not holding on to sacred time line but choices to keep alt timeliness in existence as one did not create sacredtime line one is not needed to keep ot going
