That explanation of Loki being an Asgardian and growing stronger as they age actually slipped my mind! Just like in the Avengers Assemble series where that one episode, Thanos destroyed the Avengers by making them all very old using the time stone. It worked with everyone but when he used it on Thor he only made him stronger so Thanos reset everyone.
Loki is a frost giant that was adopted by Odin. There are plenty of "regular" Asgardians as well. Loki's powers basically are just magic that his stepmom taught him plus the attributes of the frost giants packed into his little humanoid form.
Just a little detail i found the other day while rewatching season 1 When Mobius is talking with Loki in the time theater he says "you weren't born to be a king Loki. You were born to cause pain, suffering and death." And in the end of the series not only did Loki turn into a king but by holding the timelines he is preventing everyone from pain and suffering.
I thought Loki looked older. I thought it was just me and maybe just the way his facial expression was contorted for that one scene to show how difficult or how much power he had to use. Him being actually older adds so much to that entire temporal space walk.
I've followed the MCU for years now and in my opinion, Loki is the best thing they've done, better than the movies and all the other series. Thor Ragnarock gave me a glimpse at the lighter side of Loki's character as he was played as a fairly unlikeable villain up to that point. Brilliantly played by Tom of course, but there weren't too many redeeming qualities to Loki as he'd be constantly stabbing (mostly figuratively but sometimes literally) people in the back. The character arc that Tom and the writers absolutely nailed to perfection in this 2 part series is a masterclass in plot, development and execution. And I also found Mobius uttering the words "Let time pass..." quite heartbreaking. Thanks also to The Canadian Lad for helping me appreciate it even more.
The shape of the tree also seems to give us an idea that the timeline currently held by Loki can continue to grow with all possibilities, as simple as a tree
Yup, but he also happened to be on the most dangerous and most vulnerable spot ever. If the Council of Kangs realized what happened, they would definitely try to take him out or make him leave his throne, just to gain control of all these timelines again under the Kangs' rule. It's also a theme about character growth. Loki, until the very end, doesn't put his neck on the line if someone else will do it. It's only at the very end he makes the choice that it has to be him, without really knowing what will happen.

Loki Season 2 was perfect and phenomenal! Might rewatch the whole show from season 1! It's an amazing MCU Marvel show! I'm so excited that these amazing season 2 directors are moving on to Daredevil: Born Again!
After watching the last ep of season 2, re-watch s1 ep1. Mobius talks about surfing, Loki says he doesn’t want a throne but that he has to have one, etc etc. The end of the series was heavily foreshadowed from the very beginning
you missed one when loki time-slips for the final time the computer voice in the background says "welcome he who remains'' telling loki has become the watcher of timeline(s) just like he who remains
The explanation on How how loki got so powerful was amazing i never thought of the ageing process making loki powerful thats great That makes all the sense Thats why they brought up Classic Loki who was aged and wayyy powerful that our loki to show how powerful our Loki would become if he ages Thats the thing The plan was always there Foreshadowing how ageing will benefit our loki
When Loki was about to destroy the Loom, did anyone else think his face looked like the older Loki played by Richard E Grant? BTW, I desperately want all of the Lokis in the Lokipalooka episode to come back. They were all amazing!
Interesting theory on Loki's aging process! I was looking at it from another theory tho: with all the time powers he obtained, there should be one that allows him to rewind (like Eri in MHA), and thus allows him to withstand all aging process outside. But I guess the Asgardian aging is simpler haha
That last detail broooooo... I'd been asking that question for weeks! Glorious work, Lad! This means even by Secret Wars Loki will only have one strand of gray hair lol
My favorite detail by far was that last one! And I I agree with you completely. It makes perfect sense! That's why he was so strong and was able to form the tree in the first place! Good going, Canadian Lad!
Mind officially blown! The Canadian Lad, your breakdown of hidden details in the Loki final episode is spot-on. 🤯👏 Each nugget of information adds a whole new layer to the story. Can't wait for Season 2! 🚀🔍
Hell yeah, im glad you pointed out that Loki was aging when approaching the Loom! I commented that on your video and i was wondering why no one was talking about that. You can visually see Loki struggling and not being able to continue walking, so he's forced to stop and then he ages more. Then and only then is he able to continue walking, as Asgardians get stronger as they age. I also love how Loki was able to learn and progress his powerset to include EVERY other Loki variant we seen on the show! Loki didnt know how to Enchant before Sylvie and seeing Classic Loki gave him the confidence to expand his duplication casting powers. Remember how Loki explained that he creates a duplicate image casting of whatever he creates? He has to visually see and know how whatever he is duplicating looks to cast them. Classic Loki said that he was able to make a duplicate so real, that Thanos thought it was real, which means that Classic Loki is able to create *physical TANGIBLE duplicates.* Whereas our Loki was only ever able to create non-tangible duplicates. This means Loki is now able to manifest real, physical duplicates of whatever he projects. He also has Lokis main weapon from the comics now, Laeveteinn. It's basically just a sword but its a flaming sword that can also act like a wand and concentrate Lokis magic. In Norse Mythology, Laeveteinn is basically a miniature version of Surtr's sword. So if thats the case in the MCU, that means Kid Loki not only killed Thor, but he possibly also killed Surtr and took his weapon. This could have been why Our Loki was so shocked when Kid Loki passed him Laeveteinn in the first place, as this kid is proving that he's the real deal since he killed Thor and Surtr. But Loki also learned Quantum physics and Quantum mechanics, so he would have been able to understand the equations and science on He Who Remains chalkboard. I believe that He Who Remains left his equations so out in the open on purpose, so that Loki would see them and figure out the way to have complete control over time and the Multiverse. He Who Remains already knows that Loki understands Physics and the science behind his devices, as he and Loki sat and discussed their current situation. So He Who Remains knows that Loki understands the science, so why would he leave his work and equations on the chalkboard for Loki to figure out? 🤔
The difference between spaghettification and Thanos snapping is pain. Snapping looked less painful than spaghettification. Thanos was actually considerate unlike Kang.
Love this video! As far as the "old Loki" idea, I agree with you that he is aging. I assume that once he reaches his throne, he stops aging and becomes timeless at that point--retaining the age that he reached on his journey. I think the aging process itself is symbolic of the spiritual maturity that he is acquiring through his sacrifice. I just now looked at an illustration of the Hero's Journey to refresh my memory, and omg. There are a total of 4 thresholds in the journey, and the 3rd one is sacrifice. Between the 3rd and 4th threshold, the hero becomes the Master of Two Worlds. Again, omg. Thank you so much for opening my mind on one of my favorite TV shows of all time!
I have seen the "Loki got older therefore stronger because he's an Asgardian" a few times, and everyone seems to forget he is adopted - Loki is a frost giant!
Another explanation could be that, unlike all others, Loki was pulled out of time to counter the time slippage, and so, the temporal radiation has minimal effect on him
That's what I thought. And Loki is an Asgardian. he's a Frost-giant. I think that pulling him out of time, made him truly immortal. I might age but he will also rejuvenate himself, since he's a true god now, timeless and ageless.
I hopw marvel keeps bouncing back like this in future the most awesome character arc loki had and the thought that he teleported after the 2012 ny attack amd grew this much is just crazy and mind blowing he got his whole life change in weeks 🤯🤯🤯
You know what's special here is the fact, that Loki almost went through same character development as Stark in 2 series from a selfish being to a guy who sacrificed himself for his loved ones. Unlike he who remains (like thanos), sacrificed loved one for his own personal objective This series is a reminder that rather than focusing on Nostalgia, They should focus on writing. There was no cameo , nothing just writers writing a story where every Marvel fan relived what masterpiece marvel can write. Loki is the best thing after ENDGAME

Loki had temporal power so the temporal energy didn't harm him like the others. Remember he was exposed to it earlier as well when Mobius was out there to pull him out from the temporal stream
Hello TheCanadianLad, Sir I am your big fan and I watch your every video. I request you to please make a video on explaining all these things like multiverse, timeline, branches, etc cuz many people are confused on what are these things and all of that and we all trust you that when you will explain we will finally start to understand these things better
Anyone realise in Season 1 Loki asks Mobius if they're taking him somewhere to kill him and Mobius says that he's taking him "somewhere to talk" and takes him to the time theatre. And in season 2, that's where Loki timeslips to, to talk to Mobius.
Imagine this: In the next Avengers movies, we see Kang secretly fear Loki, who can't come to the fight because he has to protect the timeline/multiverse. The Avengers do their best to bring Loki back but Kang tricks them, and when all hope seems lost....... BOOM!!!! Loki appears and it turns out that the Avengers actually tricked Kang. They have the coolest fight ever and as a reverence to Infinity war where Doctor Strange uses clones and magic ropes to attack Thanos, Loki could spaghettify the area and do the same moves.
the loom doesnt always delete the branches it is supposed to weave them all into one branch but when there is alot of branches it exploded and deletes all of them and you can see the branch on the other side of the loom getting fixed and stable in the start of episode 5
That was because of the fail safe of the loom. That was the sacred timeline and this forshadowed the conversation in last episode. The fail safe was initiate, all timelines deleted by going inside the loom and TVA about to be safagettified/destroyed exactly how HWR said
Can't believe the temporal rediation was basically making Loki stronger instead of the other way around. I wonder what would happen if Thor experienced the same, would he grew stronger like Loki.
@The Canadian Lad - Great find about Loki ageing! You could add that he also aged another century before stepping outside the TVA (to add to his knowledge), explaining why he and not Sylvie went outside as he was already older and more powerful to begin with. Two things need more explaining: 1 - why did Loki prune himself? 2 - what is the significance of us seeing Rennslayer 'awaken' at the End of Time, on top of what seems like the shield displayed on the floor of the TVA? (I guess we'll be seeing her and Miss Minutes again).
That magic of Odin is not only applicable in Asgard. And maybe Odins enchantment made Loki an Asgardian despite being born as Frost Giant. And remember Loki wasn't always an Asgardian or frost giants his variants showed it.
I don't understand why you would think that? Loki hasn't spent a single second on Asgard during the series and yet he still looks the same, so it's clearly working outside of Asgard as well. I actually think that whatever Odin did to make him look like an Asgardian wasn't just acting as some sort of veil hiding his true Frost Giant form underneath. That he somehow changed his body on a physical level.
a small underrated scene imo was that usually loki tries the easy way out, through trickery and illusions. this time loki took the time, literally centuries, and effort to understand it and then to overcome it. shows his growth over his character arc
Fun Fact: In captain America the first avenger, the tree of life is directly mentioned and what was hiding the tesseract in the temple that the Red Skull invaded in the beginning of the film
6:10 Characters talking to us is one the favourites in this season. Loki being an Asgardian and aging logic fits well. I was thinking the same. Loki is one the best character arcs in MCU.
I dispise that Sylvie faced absolutely no physical or emotional repercussions for her actions that Loki had to bear the infinite burden to fix. Literally everything that ever went wrong was her fault and she is a massive hypocrite throughout the entire season and the writers had the gall to treat her as "One of the crew" at the end, absolutely the worst part of the season, I loved her in season 1 and would have loved her in season 2 even more if there was just one scene of her somberly reflecting on the fact that everything was her fault and quietly apologizing to Loki, because she effectively did exactly what the TVA did to her but to Loki.
In episode 4, Loki and Sylvie had their talk in the pie automat, and Sylvie said she couldn't kill Timely because he looked scared, but what she said after about HWR shows her subtly doubting her action. She said that HWR didn't look scared, or maybe he did and she just didn't notice. It's subtle but it's there and shows some doubt on her part. After that conversation with Loki, Sylvie actually toned down her anger a bit when discussing hope and free will, then into episode 5 where she helped Loki realize what it was he really wanted, and in episode 6 where she helped him remember the conversation they had in the automat about replacing HWR with something better. Second, Sylvie killing HWR in the citadel was always meant to happen. How many times did Loki go back to try to convince her or stop her otherwise and each time that he wouldn't kill her, she continued on and killed HWR? Every time because it's a loop set up by HWR. We know that HWR can pause time or even remove Sylvie from the moment in the citadel to save himself, but he never stops her and instead just lets her kill him. As a final nail in the coffin, HWR gave Loki an impossible choice: kill Sylvie and save HWR to maintain the sacred timeline which would doom every variant and branching timeline to death (also, can HWR be trusted to partner with Loki to maintain the sacred timeline after we know he doesn't do partnerships? lol), or let Sylvie complete her mission to kill HWR, and set the multiverse free allowing variants and branching timelines to exist as they're meant to be? Pre-determinism vs free will. Ultimately Loki chose free will and played a sacrificial move, which puts HWR in check for now. Whether it becomes checkmate remains to be seen.
@@OberonTrident3028 none of this exonerates her from appearing completely remorseless at her responsibility for the shitty situation and the irreversible sacrifice Loki made

I also love the last detail when hes old and has a lot of power. I just thot he looked the same and just absorbed the radiation
@@LBeaverMonkey I don't think anyone has access to those yet
Damn that last detail is really interesting it could be the possibility but I don't want our Loki to get old soon
Same bro, the last one is so good
But loki is getting old 😢
@@divyanshdubey7982 Even closer to Sacred Timeline Thor's current age now. More or less.
The end of the series was heavily foreshadowed from the very beginning
you missed one
when loki time-slips for the final time the computer voice in the background says "welcome he who remains'' telling loki has become the watcher of timeline(s) just like he who remains
The last detail was the best. I had watched the breakdown already but probably none had mentioned. Thanks man, you do a great job!
Loki was also a prophet as he himself said he is burdened with glorious purpose.... And now it is true
The explanation on How how loki got so powerful was amazing i never thought of the ageing process making loki powerful thats great
That makes all the sense
Thats why they brought up Classic Loki who was aged and wayyy powerful that our loki to show how powerful our Loki would become if he ages
Thats the thing
The plan was always there
Foreshadowing how ageing will benefit our loki
When Loki was about to destroy the Loom, did anyone else think his face looked like the older Loki played by Richard E Grant?
BTW, I desperately want all of the Lokis in the Lokipalooka episode to come back. They were all amazing!
Interesting theory on Loki's aging process! I was looking at it from another theory tho: with all the time powers he obtained, there should be one that allows him to rewind (like Eri in MHA), and thus allows him to withstand all aging process outside. But I guess the Asgardian aging is simpler haha
Favorite detail is definitely the last one...
This is why I love your content and Marvel movies
I think I will never forget this episode, one of my favourites episodes of this year and of superheroes in general
*season 3
highly doubt if there is even going to be a season 3
Feels like season 2 was an end with that ending.
18:13
Loki is not a real Asgardian, he is a Frostgiant
Bro the Frost Giants also age like Asgardians
Thank you for supporting this it helps educate me about quantum physics and temporal planes about the space time continuum and please like my comments
Oh my god what did I just witness … the last detail was lit🔥🔥🔥Canadian lad just makes me love marvel more than ever
I have seen the "Loki got older therefore stronger because he's an Asgardian" a few times, and everyone seems to forget he is adopted - Loki is a frost giant!
odin used odin force magic to make him an asgardian
Another explanation could be that, unlike all others, Loki was pulled out of time to counter the time slippage, and so, the temporal radiation has minimal effect on him
That's what I thought. And Loki is an Asgardian. he's a Frost-giant. I think that pulling him out of time, made him truly immortal. I might age but he will also rejuvenate himself, since he's a true god now, timeless and ageless.
Omg that last detail is mind-blowing!!! Thanks for the theory Canadian lad you're vid is awesome as always
lad didn't just breakdown the final episode, he breakdowns the entire season
canadian lad is the only youtuber I subsribed that I allow him talk his sponsor, deserved it bro for your marvel breakdowns. absolutely love it!
I hopw marvel keeps bouncing back like this in future the most awesome character arc loki had and the thought that he teleported after the 2012 ny attack amd grew this much is just crazy and mind blowing he got his whole life change in weeks 🤯🤯🤯
This feels like karma, he who remains pruning so many innocent timelines while his innocent variant Victor timely, gets spaghettified for eternity 😂
It means he'll never get to Valhalla now because he's practically immortal now and also means he'll never meet Frigg and Odin again.
You know what's special here is the fact, that Loki almost went through same character development as Stark in 2 series from a selfish being to a guy who sacrificed himself for his loved ones. Unlike he who remains (like thanos), sacrificed loved one for his own personal objective
This series is a reminder that rather than focusing on Nostalgia, They should focus on writing. There was no cameo , nothing just writers writing a story where every Marvel fan relived what masterpiece marvel can write. Loki is the best thing after ENDGAME
Beautiful ❤... The fact that I'm able to understand and already catch most of the details that you've mentioned amazes me... I remember how a few years ago I used to heavily rely on your videos for a thorough understanding... Now I'm able to identify most of it on my own... It's maybe due to increasing attention skills and knowledge but it's also because of your incredible videos... Thank you
Honestly this is the best content I have seen from marvel after a while. Truly bought tears to my eyes too.
Loki had temporal power so the temporal energy didn't harm him like the others. Remember he was exposed to it earlier as well when Mobius was out there to pull him out from the temporal stream
Here from Kenya, I fully agree with that last break down😌
Some little details make some big difference well played canadian lad ❤
It's so good to see you again ❤❤
Hello TheCanadianLad, Sir I am your big fan and I watch your every video. I request you to please make a video on explaining all these things like multiverse, timeline, branches, etc cuz many people are confused on what are these things and all of that and we all trust you that when you will explain we will finally start to understand these things better
Canadian lad after mcu your content is fabulous your voice and voice over is best😊😊
"i know what i wanted , i know what kind of god i wanna be
"For you , for all of us"
Damn !
Anyone realise in Season 1 Loki asks Mobius if they're taking him somewhere to kill him and Mobius says that he's taking him "somewhere to talk" and takes him to the time theatre. And in season 2, that's where Loki timeslips to, to talk to Mobius.
Loki is not an Asgardian. 8:23 only reason he was able to withstand that is because he could now control the flow of time
MCU isn't the Infinity Saga, it isn't the Multiverse Saga, it's the Loki Odyssey.
Imagine this:
In the next Avengers movies, we see Kang secretly fear Loki, who can't come to the fight because he has to protect the timeline/multiverse. The Avengers do their best to bring Loki back but Kang tricks them, and when all hope seems lost.......
BOOM!!!!
Loki appears and it turns out that the Avengers actually tricked Kang.
They have the coolest fight ever and as a reverence to Infinity war where Doctor Strange uses clones and magic ropes to attack Thanos,
Loki could spaghettify the area and do the same moves.
nah this seems way to lame and cringe, it would ruin the everything, this has been overused in wayy to many movies
8:14 i thought loki wasn't Asgardian he was frost giant and got adopted by Odin
the loom doesnt always delete the branches it is supposed to weave them all into one branch but when there is alot of branches it exploded and deletes all of them and you can see the branch on the other side of the loom getting fixed and stable in the start of episode 5
That was because of the fail safe of the loom. That was the sacred timeline and this forshadowed the conversation in last episode. The fail safe was initiate, all timelines deleted by going inside the loom and TVA about to be safagettified/destroyed exactly how HWR said
I really liked the last details about Loki getting stronger due to getting old.. ❤❤❤ love your work bro.
Two things need more explaining:
1 - why did Loki prune himself?
2 - what is the significance of us seeing Rennslayer 'awaken' at the End of Time, on top of what seems like the shield displayed on the floor of the TVA? (I guess we'll be seeing her and Miss Minutes again).
8:12 but Loki is a Frost Giant. How can he be an Asgardian?? Odin's magic of showing him as an Asgardian is only applicable on Asgard.
Or even Frost Giants become stronger.
a small underrated scene imo was that usually loki tries the easy way out, through trickery and illusions. this time loki took the time, literally centuries, and effort to understand it and then to overcome it. shows his growth over his character arc
Fun Fact: In captain America the first avenger, the tree of life is directly mentioned and what was hiding the tesseract in the temple that the Red Skull invaded in the beginning of the film
I am glad you mentioned the aging thing... no one else i have watched have brought it up till now🙌
This was a great bittersweet and tearful ending. The entire casts performance was a treat and Tom made me bawl my eyes out at the end 🤧🤧🤧👏👏👏
I agree!! Bittersweet ending 😢
3:52 I thought you didn't believe the fan theories of Loki being the God of Stories
I didn’t until Marvel confirmed they’re going with God of Stories arc.
Everyone is forgetting that Loki isn't Asgardian, he is a frost giant
I've waited all my life to this breakdown
Thanks
I love this so much along with the show and Loki 💚🖤💚🖤💚
All of that was is interesting, but the last thing about asgardians getting stronger as they age. Loki is a frost giant.
Actually Loki isn’t asgardian, he is from Jotunheim, a frost giant.
The last theory was absolutely amazing I never even thought of that EVER
6:10 Characters talking to us is one the favourites in this season. Loki being an Asgardian and aging logic fits well. I was thinking the same. Loki is one the best character arcs in MCU.
That last detail was very clever and a nice one.. thanks lad❤
ThE GoD oF StOrIeS!?
Yes that was from the comics
Did he just said "I'm Morbius" at the end of his video in his outro 😂😂

OB saying that the model needs a coat of painting and not finished is a direct quote from Back to the Future.
So Loki is the watcher now?
Loki actually aging thus getting stronger on the gangway is new to me but I think you nailed it
I dispise that Sylvie faced absolutely no physical or emotional repercussions for her actions that Loki had to bear the infinite burden to fix.
Doesn't matter, she was a pawn in HWR game that they might still be playing.
@@OberonTrident3028 none of this exonerates her from appearing completely remorseless at her responsibility for the shitty situation and the irreversible sacrifice Loki made
@@chillycharizard5985 Again, she had no free will at all. All of it was HWR's manipulating up to the loom being destroyed by Loki.
For your last theory, yea it can be true but Loki isn’t really an asgardian, he’s originally a frost giant
Great video tho, keep it up
Loki becoming more powerful as he age makes so much sense now , thanks for the breakdown
8:13, but Loki isn't Asgardian, right? He was adopted, I guess.
Marvel's greatest series by far.
'There's no comfort you just choose your burden' , how often good cinema makes our life better
Loki is actually a Frost Giant. But i like the theory of him getting stronger as he gets older
Him being a FG is the reason he didn't age away. Asgardians age, slowly. Bor and Odin aged, the FG king even said, "Odin, you look weary". The FG king hadn't aged a day.
