Yo brother, your ceiling birds are chirping.
Thank you so much for this. Brilliant and succinct info.
Absolutely awesome video. One of the best discussions on the “ why and how” for upholstery threads and machine set up basics. Thanks!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Iv been doing upholstery for a while and I knew iv been using thread that was to small, but I'm glad I found your video explaining the difference and what to look for. I'll SUB to you👍🏽💯
Yo brotha, you gotta change your smoke detectors. Stay safe.
You the man! I am just getting into upholstery work. I know how to sew, but upholstery is kinda intimidating.got a lot to learn. Good winter projects.
Appreciate u fam, do it up💪💪💪💯💯💯
Very nice. I've kinda standardized on 135 myself. Interesting idea to use smaller on the bobbin.
Good content. Thanks for the explanation!
Thank you for the info very much appreciated
Appreciate u 💯
Good info fam, appreciate you💯
Appreciate u watching fam💯💯💪💪
The thing with the felt just above the needle is a thread lubricator. You can look up thread lubricant and how it's used / where to get it.
Thanks for sharing but change the batteries in your smoke Detector
😉 got all new ones, thanks for watching 💪💯
Great explanation of the numbering scheme differences in thread sizes. What you eluded to, but never expounded upon was the thread sizes in correlation to the capabilities of different machines. For example: that little domestic Brother machine that you first started out on is likely well within it comfort zone using the 40 thread, while it is probably at it’s upper limits with a 69 thread. In contrast with your Consew, using that 40 thread is probably not gonna put it in it’s happy place. However, using the 69 thread on the Consew is likely the best starting point for that thread size on an industrial machine. Whereas the 92-138 are probably more normal sizes for that Consew to handle.
I do believe that your Consew should be able to handle thread sizes upwards of 207 etc… My question is why is it that you don’t use any of the larger sized threads? ✌🏾
Well put, I briefly touched that and should have elaborated I'm glad u could fill in the gaps. I personally don't like the look of the bigger size threads and that's based on the proportion. Like I was saying I dont want the thread to look like yarn or a "shoe string" however I have seen it so some people like it, but it can be too bold I'm not opposed to it just depends styles and designs change and come back and flip so I may incorporate that. I'll definitely take a second thought about it before I consider the game plan for a set now, just bc u said something.🙏💪💯
For a home machine 68 is gonna be the limit because at 69 he eats it and she blows a rod.
Vdo was really helpful, thx man
Thanks for watching 💪
Where do you get your thread?
Thanks
Np
Thank you ! I appreciate you . I’m using a regular standard to sew some canvas together. To make a jacket . Will the 40 size work or do have suggestion.
I would do 135-138
Thanks I appreciate you that was my reply the 135-138 definitely something heavier than 40 for sure💪💯
what are your favorite sites to pick up threads?
Amazon, Ebay I'm thrifty and to be honest they have some decent threads make sure its uv protected and bonded whether you get nylon or polyester
@@billyblastcustomupholstery279 Hi. I am sewing denim jeans mid to heavyweigh. In terms of threads, I'm using a Perma Core tkt 36 (tex 80) What thread size should I use for my looping thread?
I've also been told to use tkt 27/25 (tex 100/105) for my denim jeans with tkt 50 looper thread. Is that accurate?
What thread would you use for a thick top stitch
Personally i'd use 135/138
Tex 135 and V 138 are the same Tex is a military grade V is a Commercial grade
How do I do a lock stitch on a machine that doesn't have reverse
Flip material
My bad fam thought I finished the response but leave a tail flip fabric hand tie knot
Tie a knot at the end!
Pull top thread to the back ,hand tie two box knots, melt thread tags with lighter. Cleaner looking than reverse stiching in my opinion.
Not all machines work well with all threadss, check you machines capabilities and limits for both top and bottom threads,
EE NYMO.
What name is thread ?
Amazon, ebay where ever you find the best deals
