I think the Mothra figure would've been better if the wings were on ball joints and made of flexible plastic with a bendy wire frame to allow more dynamic poses. They should've also made a battle damaged version with a partially torn wing.
There is a mothra figure like that but it might be a bootleg neca but it has good articulation

Even though there are better figure options out there I was really sad to learn that neca would be losing the Godzilla license because they were practically only figures I could find in stores and I do hope that they get the license back maybe even get some other characters besides Godzilla Rodan and Mothra

I finally found a person who likes Zilla. Side note I love Zilla he got me in the franchise.
I could not agree with you more about wanting an articulated NECA Zilla figure. I know most of the Godzilla fanbase has disdain for Godzilla 1998 (rightfully so, fuck Dean Devlin for forcing Roland Emerich to direct Godzilla). But I grew up watching Godzilla 1998, I love it. I still remember I burned out my VHS tapes of Godzilla 1998 and Godzilla vs Biollante as a kid.
Kinda wish they made every incarnation of the big guy and didn't lose the rights. I personally have the 1954 and 1995 Godzillas. Great video! Keep it up! 😁👍

@Tu Thai I’m pretty sure they’re talking about the fully articulated kiryu model kit, it’s around $90 and doesn’t scale bad with neca godzilla 2003.

I actually have the big 2014 one! I could it for Christmas and I’ve some how lost the tail. I do hope Neca gets the license back and makes more of these BIG Neca Godzilla toys! Because they can scale with Lego very well

Maybe its a good thing I discovered these Neca Godzillas when they rereleased them in the poster art boxes. Based on many reviews, looks like the Neca figures in the movie art boxes had been repainted and some minor changes were made as well. Shin Godzilla probably had the most obvious overhaul with better paint and fixed issues with articulation.

i had a similar origin to spino. the 1998 movie was the first one i saw, then there was the 2014, and then 2019, and then my interest just ascended from there.
I’ve got all of NECA’s Godzilla figures and still have a proud display of them. I might start getting Hiya’s Godzilla figures once funds are stable again.
For the SOSGoji, there's a metal version of Kiryu and SOS Kiryu released by Chogokin that is close in scale and works well for display purposes with the Neca figures. There's also a '74 and '75 MechaGodzilla available, and a Final Wars Gigan.
I managed to grab a few of the Neca Godzilla's when I heard they lost the licensing. I've only opened a couple, but I enjoy them a lot. Great Video.

That shin is very clearly a bootleg. The details are faded, and the paint is horrible. I have one and it looks nothing like the one you have. The details are sharper, and the paint is much better. If you knew how molding bootlegs worked, you’d know how the original figure had the Toho stamp on the bottom of the foot. The people who had cast this figure did not take the time to cover it up.
edit: It’s insane how many doofuses reply to this comment disagreeing with me. This isn’t my opinion. It’s a fact. Someone in the replies even mentioned they had the bootleg as well as the authentic release and agreed that the one in the video matched up perfectly to the bootleg.
Edit (again 😭): The amount of people still replying to this that are straight up objectively wrong is astounding. If you’re thinking of joining the list of goobers who will say that I’m wrong and that it’s a licensed figure, I’d advise to save yourself some time and keep whatever nonsensical replies you have ready to fire out in your heads 🔥🔥

With rodan, there actually is a way for him to stay in place on the stand. If you look closely on the top of the stand, there are some groves for the spikes on his stomach to fit into to further secure himself. Now there is a sweet spot on his stomach that you’ll need to find yourself and you’ll need to kinda move it around until it stays in place. (Or this is all with my figure and my figure’s torso is so conveniently molded to fit perfectly. Hopefully everyone else’s has a sweet spot or Huston we have a problem.)
My Rodan has the same thing it can plug into the stand, idk if Spinozilla didn’t see it, or he was not paying attention when making the video

I know I’m 2 years late but I wanted to say that I have the burning Godzilla figure and it came with a plastic package I almost thought it was a bootleg cause it looked similar to Godzilla 2019 figure and smelled weird but I’m glad it was not a bootleg one

I hope NECA gets the license back. I think should start reselling some of their old figures and update some of them. They should also make new Godzilla figures like MireGoji and MekaGoji and figures for other titans and Kaiju like Zilla, Mechagodzilla, and Methuselah.

Godzilla 2019, 2003, 1954 and 2014 are my favorite NECA figures
They're great for the price. SH MonsterArts is fine but my one big gripe is how hollow they feel compared to the NECA series.

I think you might have just gotten a bad shin godzilla figure. The one that I got has a good paint job and the joints are solid. Unfortunately, the ugly painting on the tail is a consistent issue. I do agree that the joints, especially on the tail, could have been better.
it is a boot leg, i have seen bootleg shins floating around for weeks.
my friend got a neca shin godzilla and wow it suprised me after looking at this because the paint was aplied nice the tail went on (after using a hair dryer 4 times) and the tail didn't look bad only the bendy wire part popped off but the only real problem was it was stiff at the start but after using a hair dryer the joins came looser.But the bend at the knees dont move at all trust me they dont, i put vaseline on them but no they dont move at all.
Also, I believe the 1989 figure was based off the water suit used in the movie, hence the weird looking head.

I will also say for the Rodan, while I do prefer it to my monsterarts (do to paint mostly). My stand was bent too. Its the hole in the "explosion" effect......It was drilled at an angle. Some have it, others dont. Over time I've actually grown to like the slight bend as it gives off a more dynamic pose. I do think both Mothra and Rodan's stands should have had a ball joint at the base so this issue would never happen.
As for getting Rodan to be still on the stand. There are little creases that kind of "snap". Its more toward his chest. He will still move and wobble but it does seem to lock him in place. I noticed that its not the same for ever figure though and depending on if yours has more or less paint....it may not snap. I cut a small crease in with a knife and that seemed to fix my issue.
I dont have the monsterarts mothra but the wings on mine were very loose. I had to glue mine as well.

I bought a first gen release of burning godzilla as an investment. Still in it's plastic sealed packaging but it's head is loose in the packaging. Looks like it would be easily attacjed but I'm hoping one day if this become a collectable it will add some value like a defctive rare stamp. Well we can all hope lol
