I watched both videos and didn’t get the job. I did get called by the Superintendent a week later telling me not to give up on my quest to be an administrator. Then four months later, I got the job from the same school district without having to go through the interview process again. My interview made such a lasting impression that I was hired as an assistant principal at another school in the district. Thank you for sharing your wisdom!

Principal Kafele, I watch these two videos many times and took copious notes and I GOT THE JOB! Thank you for your videos and the invaluable content you provide.
I did not get the assistant principal position. My interview went great! I felt confident and overly prepared. I listened to several of your videos (which tremendously helped), and I did three mock interviews: with my assistant superintendent, my principal, and a teacher. On the day of my interview, I walked into the room confidently, dressed for the position, and shook and smiled at everyone in the eye.
It was a panel interview of five people including the newly elected principal. The panel asked between 15-18 questions, and I was pretty confident in my responses using the STAR method (when it was appropriate). I’m writing for a different reason: I was informed the job was mine, but the superintendent needed a way to pay the high school football coach more money. The superintendent also didn’t want the coach to leave the system and hiring him for the AP fixed all his problems.
I received your books in the mail. I will keep applying and hopefully the school that needs me is right around the corner. 😊🙏🏽

The interview request came on 5/29/2024. I found your videos (parts 1 and 2) on 5/30/2024. I was able to watch both 5 TIMES EACH before I interviewed on 5/31/2024 at noon. I accepted their offer at 4:30pm on that same day. THANK YOU 🙏🏽🩷

An assistant principal friend referred me to your first video; info was so good, I checked out the 2nd vid. Both are on point. I think the overall message in both videos is that hard work pays off: do your research, prepare yourself as much as you can, and your confidence will come naturally because you will have done all the proper work to secure your new position. @Principal Kafele Inspires & Empowers I had a very good interview. Every question i was asked I tied it to student achievement. When asked, "Why should we hire you?" I said that "I'm what is best for the kids. I am best for student achievement." I forgot to close the deal by saying, I want this job.

All I know is, when I had my interview yesterday, I closed the deal at the end of the interview and I felt really confident when I went in yesterday thanks for all of your tips and advice.

Hey principal Kafele. I have my second interview on Wednesday. They want me to write a letter to parents addressing an unplanned fire drill that a special education pulled during 17 degree weather, which took 18 minutes for firemen to address because they were pretty putting out a fire down the street. I'm not looking for an answer but some advice on what they are looking for.
Also, do you sell books that help out new assistant principals?

My AP position (beginning this July!) came after leaving my previous district (and many denials) and gaining experience in my current role. Admittedly, a couple of the denials were due to lack of preparation…others were for factors out of my control. I still watched your content, though….and remained positive. Five years in a new role strengthened my leadership skills. This interview was like none other…I felt a connection with each panel member. Heck, I felt a connection with the front office secretaries! When I sent my “Thank You” email-and the principal said “It was a pleasure meeting you”-I felt that. I was sure. All this to say…the denials may come, but stay focused. Experience is key, plus preparation and knowledge from Kafele 😊 Your “Yes” will come…I’m ready to assist my principal! #OnFire #BAM

Principal Kafele, I have an interview this week for an Administrative Intern Position. I will work under the Principal and possibly the Assistant Principal. My question is do you know what type of questions will be asked for this type of position? Are they similar to the ones you noted in your Assistant Principal videos? I just want to say that you are such a motivator, I am extremely anxious about interviewing, but you make me want to go in there and kill it!!!

I stuck out and enjoyed it but I wish at the end you'd give examples it questions that you would like to be asked and would appreciate being asked. Give some insight of what you would consider worthy questions.

Principal Kafele my only question is...... When I am doing my research on the school and I am looking at data, TWC data, attendance, title 1 plan, achievement by subgroup, is there a such thing as too much research? The only thing I have done wrong at my first interview was I used their data in my answers. I inundated them with data that they already knew!
You just need a general understanding...no need to overburden yourself. Know enough to shoe them that you did your homework, but be so aggressive with it that you intimidate the person interviewing you.
I am a school counselor! Almost 21 years in my district! 35 applications, 6 interviews, 3 Principals moved my information forward! I got the job! 😇 thank you 🙏
