- A gathering of greats! The Supercar Reunion is all about muscle car royalty. It's a relatively small event, but every car in attendance has significance. COPO cars, Yenko, Fred Gibb, Dick Harrell, Baldwin Motion...the list goes on and on. I picked out 10 of my favorites and wanted to show you guys.
1969 COPO Camaro old drag car, previously raced in Modified Production
1969 Chevelle 300 Deluxe SS396 two-door sedan Day 2 build
1969 COPO Camaro, 1 of 1 in black with 714 Yellow Houndstooth interior, day 2 build
1969 Yenko Camaro 427 with slicks!
1972 Camaro Motion Phase III, restored to perfection
1969 COPO Camaro, "Rat's Nest" Super Stock drag car, restored
1969 COPO Camaro, Hugger Orange, Day 2 build
1968 COPO Chevy II Nova, Fred Gibb and Dick Harrell 427

The automotive landscape will never be that cool or exciting again, unfortunately. Thanks for sharing!! 😎
So much to say, but I won't. Just an old guy remembering. Thank you!
I like the racing decals on the windows. How we ran em back in the 80's. Bragging rights for what speed parts we had on the cars. Usually got two decals with each part. That green survivor Camaro would look great with 15x10 deep dish wheels and 295 50 tires filling out the flares.
Nah
15x10 with Pro Trac N50s and some F70 bias ply up front.
Very very Kool the 69 300.ss.396 Chevelle was my fav of that was so Kool how many times will any one see a 300 ss Chevelle I never knowed there was such a Chevelle one day talking to pat .N he told me about them I was blowed down. What a rare car thanks tommy for sharing these holy grail cars so awesome 😊
I was 10 yrs old in 1970, just old enough to begin to appreciate what a muscle car was down in SE Texas. I knew what a 'Goat" was, and a Z28, 442, Vette, etc. These rarities are like the tip of the iceberg. Great vid.
Growing up in the 70s we saw lots of cool cars like these and I still Love the look, jacked up, mag wheels, slapper bars, fats and skinnys!!! Cool stuff!!!
It was great to meet you at the Supercar Reunion. My brother & I have attended the last 3 years. He owns, "Rats Nest". I have been a subscriber to your channel for a while now and greatly enjoy the history of the cars and parts you feature. Great coverage of this event.
Sweet Chevys, love them all. Thanks for sharing.
It would be awesome to see some video of these cars rippin down the drag strip. Awesome event glad you brought it to us. Shared this with my son who is head over heels into camaros. 😊
Those 70s Fbody Baldwin cars are great. The striping adds even more to it. Might be tacky for some, but I dig it.
Love the Baldwin stripes for sure especially on that '72.
@@HotRodHoarder TY for relaying the year of that bad boy! I thought the grill looked 72-73-ish 🤔. But yeah THAT car would be TOP of my picks IF I HAD to even TRY and choose outta ALL those unbelievable time warp bad boyz! Happy Restoring and Cruizin 😎🤘🔥🤘
There was one in Iceland that was ordered 454 ss and first car too be transported by air to Iceland. Than ordered the Motion parts and had guys from motion come to install it. It's in the US now.
"Wow" I'm still wiping the drool off my mouth. Can't wait to see "RATS nest" thanks champion 👍🇦🇺
Thanks
That black on yellow 69 Copo with the 4 speed is SICK! That's the true definition of a dream car.
Wow those cars 😍😍😍, phase 3 Motion car looks so cool. The 2 Nova's are double Copo's. Here in UK we had cars as cool as this
Awesome History !
Great channel
Fantastic!! You do such a great job 😎👍
Awesome thank you for sharing
Just Amazing looking cars of performance original. ❤️💯👊👍
that would be an event to attend. great stuff!
Doug Thorley show tubes were always cool
Awesome job!
baldwin motion camaros were built to drag race
Most people don't realize how significant that Fred Gibb Nova is . Those were ordered by Gibb as L78 396/375 , turbo 400 cars for use in SS/DA class . Until those cars were built you couldn't get an automatic transmission behind a solid lifter Chevrolet engine . These cars proved that the trans would hold up to the abuse and in '69 they became available as regular production items . Dickie Harrel further modified some of the cars that Gibb had ordered by swapping out the L78 engines for L72 , 427/425s . There was a road test , I believe in Pop Rod Magazine , pitting a stock '68 L78 Nova against a Harrel modified version and one of his converted L72 Novas .
Day2 perfection💪
The 73 survivor was the best car there.
I love the color combo beautiful car
Great cars love it
Love the day 2 cars 😀
Cool old Camaros I like to have one of these days
When you showed the Baldwin Motion car, makes me wonder were the 67 L88 vett Slow Motion is,the last picture I have of it is in the book, Motion Performance tales of a muscle car builder,
as always,a great show, keep up the good work.....outstanding cars!
Of all the cars there, the Phase III Baldwin Motion would be my choice, I’ve owned 2 Yenko Camaro cars, one brand new in 1969, the other a few years ago, but the Motion cars far surpassed them easily. They were true street beasts back in the day, during a time when the factories were producing some truly serious street performance cars. No computers, no traction control cars, just raw horsepower, and torque, with driver skills required. 👍
My 70 1/2 Z28 was the very first cover car issue 1 #1, I didn't know you photographed for hemmings
Kil-Kare! My old home track! Its still in business too.
wow love it can't wait to see the history on these cars
Hell yea love it
One of the BEST car vids I have personally seen, I think....And?..🤔 Subscribed! 😎 Thanks for this vid! I remember seeing that striped and stickered 69 Camaro dragger in Hot Rodding magazines from the mid to latter 70s I am thinking too 🤔. My kinda HEAVEN right there. I definitely have to go to one of those Fests. Happy Restoring and Cruizin
Thanks Jim!
Those cars are amazing!
They're all awesome rides for sure but I have a soft spot for a Nova since my first car was a 63.
Great Video!
What rear tires were on that Orange 69 COPO? That tire n wheel combo was perfect .....
I believe those are Goodyear L60-15's.
Don Yenko Chevrolet in Canonsburg Pennsylvania was about 45 minutes from my house.
I remember the PHASE III BM Camaro in a magazine at the time that ran 4.88 gears and had a Hone overdrive that would reduce the gearing to 3.42 to be able to drive at some highway speeds....what a set up with the 454 under the hood
i'm not a huge chevy fan but i appreciate a cool car regardless and those copo novas are awesome. please do a video on those if you can!
Cool Camaros!! You going to the Tri Fives this year?
👍👍👍👍
❤👍🇱🇷💪🙏😁Love them 69$camros and Novas thanks bud for your time sharing hope you have a great an blessed weekend see ya later
Very nice cars but commentator was wrong a few times with info.
Motion phase 3 the fastest of aftermarket chevies
You can't race today without getting shot by a jealous
You took a picture of my car at this event and put it in muscle machines magazine. Is there a way that I could get a copy of that picture?
Email me at byrdrods@yahoo.com.
I think it's a shame the early formula firebirds '67,'68,'69 even the '70 didn't get some of this treatment. I think they look better then the Camaro, but that's just my opinion
Dear santa nere is my wish list
Yessss!
why doesn't he just use his DSLR to film? does it not do 4K?
i swear i will never understand these outrageous prices for any old car pre 84 as a old school car guy born in 65 who has owned every thing from k5 4x4 to muscle cars growing up a car guy could buy one ( good running ) for around 2000k to 4500k now the same cars nearly 40 years later cost 40k to 300k even a piece of crap 1984 4 door ford ltd no one wanted back in the day will cost 8500 a rusted out chassis will cost 8k why ? and a bank with good interest rates will not even think about a loan for one so the average gear head is out of luck why ? so mister money bags think they look cool SITTING IN THEIR COLLECTION and then there is people with classics just sitting outside or in a old building not touched in 30 years it makes me sick
Nostalgia. Car people are very sentimental and a whole diff generation has money now
Well you wont be cruisen in a copo .no vin ,can't register them.
Please explain Copo
COPO stands for Central Office Production Order, which basically meant that it wasn't a regular production car. In the case of 1969 Camaros, COPO cars were available with the 427 instead of the 396. The limited production run makes them highly valuable.
@@HotRodHoarder thank you sir
In 1969 most COPO Camaros were ordered with the L72 427. There were somewhere around 1000 of these cars produced. Only 69 were ordered with the ZL1 all aluminum 427. Both are ultra rare and therefore ultra valuable.
Notice there was NO fords or dodges. That’s right because they are NOT super cars.
Almost barfed when i saw that yeller interior, i thought it was bad on a yellow Z-28 i worked on, but on a black car it's like opening the fridge door in the dark with a hangover. I can see why it was 1of 1 🤮
I'll take one of each
Have u ever heard of the old granny goose 🪿 camaro 69 ? it only had 3000 original Miles, All quarter mile at a time. my aunt owned it for a few years sold it about 5 years ago ,was a corvette also with that name cool car's.
