We Survived - Family Camping In A Blizzard Off Grid!

- Winter has been non existent this year and a blizzard was coming through Wisconsin; so we got excited and packed up our gear to head out in it! As most were ready to hunker down to wait out the storm, we embraced it! As always, with our kids and dog along for the ride, we pack and prep safely for the situation. We even bring some backups just in case we would need them! There was so much snow on the ground even before we headed out of town. We managed to slowly make our way off road, even though the whole drive felt like we were off road! We set up camp and made dinner and went to bed while the storm kept dumping more snow on us! Made for a beautiful morning with the sun blazing on the fresh powder! Broke trail the whole way to get to Top Of The World up north where you can see for miles! Minus the wind, it was an amazing view!

Don’t you just love the almost worthless defrost in our JL/JTs???? It doesn’t even take much to freeze the windshield like that with the defrost on high.

wow what a trailer! so you have the propex heater and a diesel heater? can you explain your preference?
Thanks for watching! I like the diesel heater for primary heat. Dryer heat and pushes out more to keep the trailer warm on those cold nights. Propex now is our backup heat if something happens or if temps get down in the negatives use both. Only have done that once when it was -8 degrees outside.

What tyres do you use? Tell me brand and the size
We use Mickey Thompson Pro Xs 43x15x17. They are awesome tires. Make little noise going down the road but they are great off-road.
I just put MT's on my Ford FX4... LT265x70Rx18AT. Love them, pretty quiet at 60mph and look beastly like just sitting parked!

Yes New Mexico part 2 hoping to release this weekend. We haven’t had any snow this year. We were planning on doing quite a few winter camping trips because we love the snow.
