Another top tip from me, only make 1 change at a time so if something breaks it narrows down the scope of investigation. I’ve inherited that gene, i don’t give up until i solve the problem. Everybody says "erm" btw so quit fretting. :) Btw regarding your sea level clarification, the pedant in me would point out that the stoichiometric ratio (It's by mass remember) is actually the same at sea level or at altitude. It's the volume you have to change given the different densities of air to get to that same mass ratio. (Fuel injection or carbs). by mass, stoich is always stoich. So yeah we might say 'it needs more air/less fuel at altitude' but by mass it's the same. At altitude we just need more volume for same mass. We make it different to get it the same, in a sense. I reckon you knew this really. :) I'll stop before you rightly kick me in the bollocks.
Good stuff , Jim. While these advanced electronic bikes are new/newish fine but when they have a few years under their wheels & these electronic gizmos start to fail, will we see a lot of bikes being scrapped because it’s not financially viable to repair? Or am I being too pessimistic?
Sorry for my lack or faith but I didn’t think you’d get to the bottom of this one Jim. So glad it’s sorted now, has the cruise control been fitted for a while or did it come to you post fitting and not working?
I find the lack of ecu protection disturbing . ktm shouldn't let there ecu get corrupted so easy , imagine the potential for fly by wire throttle failure ?. Anyways good job finding that mate.
i take it the customer has had no further issues with the cruse control resetting the ECM? (in use i mean).. I can see why it would do it the first time it was switch on only... i dont think i would ever trust it not to do it again??
When are they going to sort that patch of road just before the Prince of Wales. Every time I ride up past the auctions my eyes are on stalks. even on four wheels it's a pain.

Twisted pair may give less induction than parallel wires ..
I have a 2003 BMW r1150rs non-abs and I looked for cruise control but seems to not be available so I use a throttle palm grip it works for me.

Jim bit off topic but have you ever done a throttle cable replacement on a fz1? Pain in the ass and I can't get the new push cable back in
