bro i hv driven both cars on long journeys , yes polo gives u confidence on everything no other hatch can match Polo in stability n handling nd performance olso .. but i was quite impressed by xuv 300 i hv driven top variant reached bathinda to chandigarh in 2 hours fastest by myself chasing a fortuner at night .. xuv quite nailed it i felt proud on mahindra its way better than brezza nd creta in performance paise or package ki vajah se . Polo nd Xuv 300 both hav good braking handling n performance .

Can be chased if you have the right car doing. The diesel low end has slack but when in zone it is difficult to catch.

If you think this polo is fast, then search about GTi. That had a 189 hp engine and was maybe the fastest car in its segment in India. It was around 20 lakhs and discontinued for poor sales.

Driving skills is what matter at first and at last.The road he was driving is perfect to take down a segment up car with just skills. I brought a seltos to it's keens from my altroz diesel. Skills, your highway prediction, engine engagement, best gear for acceleration. For eg - At times you don't have to stick back of the competitor's carcar rather you have have to hold back your car some 30-50 mtrs and predict the traffic movement and once you know there will be a gap you accelerate and reach that speed at 120 or any speed by the other will just accelerate his taffic hold car at around 90 or something. So you got that 30 kmph more. Sfigures were just examples.
I happened to drive this machine some times, its really a treat to have handle on the stearing wheel. It may be a breaking or accelating or making a sharp cut, It does all these without effort. Where this Car stands apart from others. Some truth we have to accept, even not accepting the truth will remains truth... Well done bro..

They didn’t even try with the new Polo. All the actual legendary status the Polo got was due to the mod community. Atleast Hyundai is trying to give something diff here. Previously only Fiat with the Abarth & Ford with the Figo sport tried. VW was busy with being the one eyed king in a blind kingdom.
VW had a great car in 2010-15 after that they just stopped giving it meaningful upgrades. The DSG was problematic, but in VW fashion they continued to dump it here for many gullible peeps to have buyers remorse. Then crucially they didn’t even upgrade the issue prone suspension setup which would give up within 60-80k for many. Infact later in it’s cycle the Polo was getting worse components. The less said abt the “GT” the better, the laziness in it’s execution was evident.
Yes it is a safer car, but the chassis was not done justice by VW one bit. Just like how Tata is handling the Altroz today (VW was atleast better than Tata though). The engine is a gem agreed but it was nowhere as good a car on the whole in its stock form as is made out to be by common folks.

It is always about how you drive your car. Sometimes a bmw is overtaken by a normal honda city or any other same sedan like Octavia etc., and sometimes polo is also overtaken by a normal swift , so it is always about gear to shift ratio and your talent to pick up the car and not about being a car powerful

I agree. I was once chasing polo on Mumbai Pune express Highway in my i20. I was struggling so bad just to keep up with it.The polo would drift away so easily.I Had to downshift to 3rd & was doing speeds around 100 just so that I could be on his tail
