He needed to do it "again" because he didn't do it the first time. He felt guilty. He knew that the job was not done. Then even the second time he can't show any convincing proof. Very bad style. Jornet is an extraordinary athlete, a legend, but he is lousy at documenting his achievement in the case of mont everest. Really disappointing. Ruins a lot.

Kilian was largely my inspiration to travel to chamonix mont blanc several years ago and sprint up some of the mountains in the valley. At this point in my life, I had been running about 10km a day in Montreal. Unlike Kilian, however, my lungs were not as adapted to the mountains as my legs were. By the time I would reach 3000 m, I would experience vertigo and oxygen deprivation, the was a scuba diver would if they ascend from low depths too quickly. What I consider to be personal feats that I may never surpass would be to him nothing more than a morning routine.

People 50 years ago: Mount Everest is extremely dangerous, it is ill advised for anyone other than the world’s most skilled mountain climbers.
People now: Hey let’s make Mount Everest a tourist trail and see who can run up it the fastest!

killian's a lifelong alpinist first. He only runs as cross training, as crazy as that sounds.

Wow. I thought it would be a clickbait title about somebody who climed "the equivalent of 2 Everests" in a week on a stairmaster or something.
    Nope! What an animal.

I managed to smoke 192,000 joints before giving up. As each spliff was on average 4" in length it would take 87105 Js end upon end to reach the height of Mt Everest.
TLDR; I easily smoked twice the height of Mount Everest. Now that's commitment.

But we can't really find our physical limits though, because the argument can be made that you can always go faster and harder, if you just train hard enough. The same can be said for our mental limits. If there's a limit you have to train to overcome it.
